WELCOME

TO DONCASTER RACECOURSE

Hello and welcome to Doncaster Racecourse for Paloma Faith Live After Racing. We would like to thank our sponsors Alan Wood Plumbing and Heating and Cazoo for their continuous and most generous support. We are delighted you’ve decided to join us today and we hope you enjoy a thrilling 7-race card between 6pm and 9pm, with double platinum and BRIT award-winning Paloma Faith taking to the stage around 9:30pm. VIP viewing wristbands will be available to purchase for £5 from the start of the first race, from the racecard booth next to the Double Trigger statue in the Grandstand Enclosure. There are a limited number of wristbands available which give you exclusive access to the Clock Tower steppings, so you can enjoy the concert up close from your own seat. We are pleased to be hosting the Betfair Clock Tower Cup Raceday in aid of Racing Welfare on Friday 1st July, which is the pinnacle of Racing Staff Week. In it’s sixth year, Racing Staff Week brings the racing industry and it’s followers together, to showcase the passion, skill and dedication across the breadth of the industry. This year’s Racing Staff Week will recognise the contribution of the industry’s entire workforce, from stud and stable staff to breeders, racecourse staff, and everyone in-between - who’s hard work makes this great sport possible. The highlight of the day is the Clock Tower Cup - a charity race for stable staff. Funds generated by the raceday will be used by Racing Welfare, a registered charity supporting the workforce of British horseracing. Our final two Live After Racing racedays will see Nile Rodgers and Chic at Town Moor on Saturday 16th July and McFly on Saturday 13th August. Then, on Saturday 30th July get ready to rock as we welcome Magic Queen to the stage after racing, at our Rock at the Races raceday. Magic Queen are one of the most dynamic and exciting Queen Tribute Bands in Europe and are sure to get you up on the dancefloor! Our flagship fixture, the Cazoo St Leger Festival takes place 7th – 10th September! The highlight of Doncaster’s social calendar, we welcome visitors from all over the country to Town Moor for this four-day festival including the World’s oldest Classic – the St Leger Stakes. Tickets for all our upcoming racedays, events and Live After Racing Music Nights are available now at www.doncaster-racecourse.co.uk. Our raceday presenter Bobby Beevers and resident tipster Roger Hart will be in the Parade Ring at around 5:30pm to run through today’s runners and riders and hopefully pick you out some winners! As always, our team here at Doncaster are committed to doing our very best to ensure you enjoy your day and we value any feedback you may have. We hope you have a great day! Star Ratings Explained Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: HHHHH Selected to win the race. HHHHI Good chance of being placed. HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope. HIIII Can be given little or no chance.

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

You must be 18 or over to place a bet You may be asked to provide proof of your age when placing a bet If you cannot produce this your bet will not be accepted
