WELCOME

TO DONCASTER RACECOURSE

Hello and welcome to the BETGOODWIN November Handicap at Doncaster Racecourse – the final fixture of the British Flat racing season. We are delighted you’ve joined us here today. We

would like to thank our new sponsor BETGOODWIN and we are extremely grateful for their most generous support of today’s fixture. There are 8 races on the card and our raceday presenter Bobby Beevers, resident tipster Roger Hart and BETGOODWIN Director Ben Head will be in the Parade Ring at around 11:15am to run through the racecard and hopefully pick you out some winners! Today we will be crowning the Cock O’ The North – the jockey who has received the most wins in Flat races at Northern-based racecourses this year. The presentation will take place in the Parade Ring after the 2nd race and we are excited to find out who will be crowned Cock O’ The North! Due to phenomenal demand, we are delighted to be extending our Blue Light Card partnership for 2023. Throughout 2022, the Racecourse Association (RCA) and Racing Together have collaborated with Blue Light Card to offer key workers the opportunity to visit the racecourse of their choice for free. All 59 British racecourses have participated, demonstrating their gratitude towards key workers in helping the country through the difficult months of the pandemic. This complimentary ticket scheme for the UK’s emergency services, NHS workers and social carers has seen over 20,000 redemptions across all British racecourses so far this year! Today, we are thrilled to welcome an additional 250 key worker beneficiaries to the BETGOODWIN November Handicap at Doncaster and we thank you for everything you do! National Hunt returns to Doncaster with The Ice Cream Direct Raceday on Friday 25th November. Then, on Saturday 26th November you can sample an array of beers from around the World at our Beer Festival Raceday – proudly supported by Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company. From December onwards the festive-feels are in full swing at Town Moor! Our Festive Jumpers raceday on Friday 9th, and Bet365 Festive Jumpers on Saturday 10th December are a chance for you to show us your festive finery, with prizes for the best Christmas Jumpers! Our final fixture of 2022 is the Festive Family Fun Raceday on Thursday 29th December with lots of free entertainment for the kids including face painting, a kids disco, a roaming magician, and a colouring competition. Tickets for all these fixtures are on sale now at www.doncaster-racecourse.co.uk. Don’t forget, children 17 and under go free when accompanied by an adult, and OAPs receive 50% off Grandstand and Family enclosure raceday tickets, when booked on the day with a valid photo ID. If you’re looking for somewhere to host your Christmas party, Christmas Live is perfect for a fun-filled work Christmas do or simply for gathering your friends together for an unforgettable festive night out! You’ll enjoy a live cabaret show with incredible professional dancers, exquisite dining, entertainment village and casino, disco, and a ‘Survivors Breakfast’ at midnight! Plus, our New Year’s Eve Ball is back by popular demand on Saturday 31st December featuring live entertainment, champagne and canapes, a decadent four-course meal, and a live resident DJ to help you ring in the new year. Make sure you stop by the BETGOODWIN promo stand in the Exhibition Hall today, where you will receive a FREE £20 bet when you open a BETGOODWIN account. As always, our team here at Doncaster are committed to doing our very best to ensure you enjoy your day and we value any feedback you may have. We hope you have a great day! Star Ratings Explained Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: HHHHH Selected to win the race. HHHHI Good chance of being placed. HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope. HIIII Can be given little or no chance.

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

You must be 18 or over to place a bet You may be asked to provide proof of your age when placing a bet If you cannot produce this your bet will not be accepted

Those with experience don’t set a tall standard and with that in mind it could be worth siding with NINE TENTHS. Representing a powerful stable/making plenty of appeal on paper, she’s out of a mare who tasted success on heavy ground and it would come as no surprise to see a bold showing. HORSE WELFARE COMES FIRST AT DONCASTER At every race meeting at Doncaster our top priority is the safety and welfare of both horse and rider. We have a dedicated team of highly qualified vets and doctors following the action at all times and a horse ambulance in attendance at every meeting. LONGEST TRAVELLER: BIGGLES trained by R Beckett, Kimpton Down, 212 miles. RACE SUMMARY

YOUNG FIRE’s style requires a lot to drop right for him, but he shaped encouragingly in a bigger field over C&D last time and the anticipated strong gallop could see him to best effect here. ISRAR quickened clear in very good style here 2 weeks ago and can make light of a 7lb rise and provide the Gosden stable with another winner in this end-of-season highlight. There are many possible dangers, headed by fellow 3-y-o First Officer, who has thrived for a switch to Jane Chapple-Hyam. Metier goes very well in the mud over hurdles and is of interest back on the Flat. A highly competitive event, with ZIP narrowly fancied to notch his first victory in over a year in an event he won 2 years ago. There wasn’t much between the selection, Broken Spear and Cold Stare on their C&D meeting last month and that duo can pose a threat, with Pocket The Profit and Final Watch others that can’t be ruled out. 1-2-3: 1.ZIP 2.BROKEN SPEAR 3.POCKET THE PROFIT KEY colours
