Raceday
Good afternoon and welcome to Doncaster Racecourse for our first ever Yorkshire Air Ambulance raceday.
We’d like to thank today’s sponsors; Yorkshire Air Ambulance & EBF for their most generous and continued support
We have been working in partnership with Yorkshire Air Ambulance for over 14 years and have already collectively helped to raise over £162,000 for such a worthwhile charity. Today is the first “Yellow Yorkshire Race Festival” so don’t forget to go and take a picture of yourself next to the Double Trigger statue and tag us in it. Keep an eye out for the team of spotters who will be out & about handing out prizes for anyone wearing yellow and if you’d like to make a donation, any of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance team will be happy to assist you.
Our raceday presenter Bobby Beevers and resident tipster Roger Hart will be in the Parade Ring at around 2:30pm to run through today’s runners and riders and hopefully pick you out some winners! Don’t forget to check out our Summer Saturday Series! The first event is on May 18th with the Boyband Experience featuring Undivided, but we have something for everyone this summer, from Summer Anthems featuring Chris Moyles on 1st June to One Night in Nashville performing at our This is Tennessee event on 3rd August
New for 2024 is our Town Moor Business Club This new initiative will allow local businesses and our corporate members to gain more exposure for their organisation via advertising & sponsorship, allow them to collaborate more closely with one and other via regular networking opportunities, gain more exposure at the course and online as well as having access to exclusive offers & discounts. To find out more please visit our website or speak to one of the team.
Our flagship fixture, the Betfred St Leger Festival is just round the corner, taking place 12th – 15th September! The highlight of Doncaster’s social calendar, we welcome visitors from all over the country to Town Moor for this four-day festival including the World’s oldest Classic – the St Leger Stakes. Tickets are available now at www.doncaster-racecourse.co.uk. We hope you have the ‘greatest’ day with us here at Town Moor and as always, we welcome any feedback you may have
As always, our team here at Doncaster are committed to doing our very best to ensure you enjoy your day and we value any feedback you may have
We hope you have an amazing day!

Star Ratings Explained
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
HHHHH Selected to win the race.
HHHHI Good chance of being placed.
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope.
HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

RACE SUMMARY
CALSHOT SPIT made more of an impact from a reduced mark at Bath 8 days ago and, if he can build on that, he might have enough to take what looks a weak race on paper. Recent Catterick winner Corsican Caper is a player and Swinging London can’t be dismissed.

RACE SUMMARY
TORFRIDA scored over C&D around this time last year and shaped better than the result on occasions subsequently, so she’s worth chancing to make a winning return for a stable that looks to have its string well forward. Bella Kopella is an obvious danger and Isle of Dreams could get back on track.

KATEY KONTENT’s fitness has to be taken on trust but she was threatening to come good at Salisbury when last seen in October and appeals as the most persuasive option given how well that form has worked out. Ascot Adventure is not taken lightly with his reappearance under his belt, while Prairie Falcon shouldn’t be written off having shaped really well on his penultimate start.
