ARABIAN RACE 1.40 ONE MILE TWO FURLONGS FOR PUREBRED ARABIANS, 3YO+

THE ROSSDALES VETERINARY SURGEONS MAIDEN STAKES Total race value £2,000 | Owners Prize Money. 1st £1,030, 2nd £483.40, 3rd £241.80, 4th £120.80, 5th £60.40, 6th £30.20

RACE SUMMARY Some nicely bred young horses line up for what looks to be a competitive maiden. Of the debutants, Mathaayel is related to winners, though they all needed at least one run before getting off the mark. AJS Hajaj looks a likely type on breeding, his stable has been slow to come to hand but are now firing in the winners here and abroad. Mumayyez put in a solid debut performance to be second to a more experienced rival and this extra distance should suit him well. However, behind him that day was ALDAANA, who wasn’t given a hard time when her chance had gone and has shaped as though needing a further stamina test.

A switch to positive tactics worked wonders for POP FAVORITE as he opened his account at Chelmsford under Angus Villiers and he has obvious claims under a penalty back against his own age group. Lucayan can win more races if her latest Yarmouth showing, when looking to hang her chance away, was a one-off. Hellavapace must also be respected after her breakthrough success here 3 weeks ago. 1-2-3: 1.POP FAVORITE 2.LUCAYAN 3.HELLAVAPACE KEY colours

VIVE LA DANSE faces contrasting conditions compared to his last 2 placed efforts in the mud at Windsor but there’s a race in him off his basement mark if he can transfer that sort of form over to AW. Miss Sligo has had a good spell of late and heads the dangers along with Polar Ice and last week’s C&D winner Sundayinmay. 1-2-3: 1.VIVE LA DANSE 2.MISS SLIGO (IRE) 3.POLAR ICE KEY colours
