A competitive opener with the vote in favour of low-mileage POST CHAISE. He readily surpassed his exploits in maiden hurdles when making a winning handicap debut at Hereford over shorter recently and, with the longer trip expected to hold no fears, he could well be capable of following up. Donald McCain’s Bird On The Wire, Ribeye and Northern Falcon head up the dangers.

RACE SUMMARY ANY SECOND NOW ran a screamer without much going his way in last year’s National, catching the eye with a big move late on having had little luck in-running. Clearly saved for this, he warmed up with a pleasing win in a good time from 3 of today’s rivals at Fairyhouse 6 weeks ago and can give Ireland their fifth victory in the last 6 renewals. Gordon Elliott holds a mighty hand, Delta Work and Death Duty particularly strong. Last year’s winner Minella Times may have his work cut out. 1-2-3: 1.ANY SECOND NOW (IRE) 2.DELTA WORK (FR) 3.DEATH DUTY (IRE) KEY colours
