Proud Champions of the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme All of our member racecourses participate in the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme, a nationwide initiative for those with disabilities that may not be visible. A sunflower lanyard discretely signals to staff that the person wearing the lanyard may need additional support or a little more time when attending racedays. Guests are welcome to bring their own lanyards or to register in advance by contacting the racecourse they’ll be attending. Sunflower lanyards can also be collected at certain entrance points. If you would like more information, please ask a member of staff.
WELCOME & MEET THE TEAM
Welcome to Sedgefield Racecourse for 4th November meeting. Welcome back to Sedgefield. It’s November already! We have 3 fixtures to look forward to in this month. Red Giant returns in the 1:12pm for Jennie Candlish after gaining a gallant 2nd place to Hewick in the Durham National on the 17th Oct. The Sedgefield legend Roxyfet makes his season return to Sedgefield in the 2:15pm for Micky Hammond. To say this horse knows how to win round here is a bit of an understatement, he’s won 9 times at this track and I don’t think he’s done yet! We have 6 races today and the northern jumps trainers are out in force. Keep an eye out for Brian Ellison and Phil Kirby’s runners, they have plenty of success between them at Sedgefield. Don’t forget to book your Boxing Day tickets online, it’s a cracking family tradition not to be missed! I would like to thank our sponsors this afternoon, thank you for returning to support us in what has been a crazy time for all. Our next race meeting is on Nov 11th. Gates open 10:00am, 1st race 12:07pm. As always, I wish you all the very best in picking a few winners and I look forward to welcoming you back to Sedgefield Racecourse again soon. Enjoy and good luck. Emma White GENERAL MANAGER

Experience could count for plenty here so the vote goes to MONJULES. John Norton’s recruit wasn’t beaten far in claiming hurdles on his last couple of outings, so a reproduction of either of those efforts could be sufficient for him to open his account. Another French-recruit Piecederesistance looks one of the more interesting contenders so he could provide the main danger, ahead of Sisu.

Having failed to complete on both previous chase starts, GOLD RUNNER may be perceived as too risky for some. Conversely, she showed improved form over hurdles last term and is worth chancing off an attractive mark back in this sphere, in the hope that her jumping passes the test this time. In-form duo Grey Atlantic Way and Brother Pat are obvious dangers.

CAILIN DEARG was talented enough to win an Irish bumper and though she didn’t offer much in her qualifying runs, her lowly opening mark certainly reflects that.
