WELCOME & MEET THE TEAM

Welcome to Sedgefield Racecourse for 23rd November meeting. Welcome back to Sedgefield to our Mansionbet afternoon race day. We have an Irish raider in the last, Charles Byrnes runs Kendancer with Daryl Jacob booked to ride. It is also great to see jockey Henry Brooke return today after a serious injury. The dream team of McCain and Hughes team up on two occasions today. ‘Obey The Rules’ for these two in the 1:45pm looks a likely favourite. Don’t forget to book your Boxing Day tickets online, it’s a cracking family tradition not to be missed and tickets are selling fast. I would like to thank our sponsors this afternoon, thank you for returning to support us in what has been a crazy time for all. Our next race meeting is on December 3rd. Gates open 10:00am, 1st race 12:00pm. As always, I wish you all the very best in picking a few winners and I look forward to welcoming you back to Sedgefield Racecourse again soon. Enjoy and good luck. Emma White GENERAL MANAGER

Star Ratings Explained Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: HHHHH Selected to win the race. HHHHI Good chance of being placed.

HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope. HIIII Can be given little or no chance.

Runswick Days won The Santander In Memory of Robert Forster Handicap Steeple Chase at Sedgefield on Tuesday 11th November 2014.

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in nonhandicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating. For novice steeple chasers, the latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the Handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating. Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h.

LADY CHUFFNELL went close off a similar mark over hurdles in the spring and might be worth siding with to make a successful start over fences on her return as it’s very easy to pick holes in the opposition here. Aire Valley Lad has been cut some slack by the handicapper and may provide the main threat if reacting positively to cheekpieces. 1-2-3: 1.LADY CHUFFNELL (IRE) 2.AIRE VALLEY LAD 3.DALKINGSTOWN KEY
