WELCOME
WELCOME TO OUR MARSTON’S BEER FESTIVAL RACE DAY AND A WARM WELCOME TO OUR SPONSORS MARSTON’S AND THEIR GUESTS. TODAY MARKS OUR 10TH BEER FESTIVAL IN CONJUNCTION WITH MARSTON’S AND TO CELEBRATE WE HAVE A FANTASTIC CHOICE OF 10 REAL ALES ACROSS THE SITE FOR YOU TO CHOOSE FROM. MY OWN RECOMMENDATIONS ARE LOCAL BREWS 61 DEEP AND PEDIGREE.
Head down to the specially built marquee at the end of the grandstand to find the biggest selection of ales. We also have Radio Murphy playing in the Final Furlong Marquee from 11am. This area is open today as a public area so please feel free to go and enjoy the entertainment. A special mention goes to Neil Ives who has supported this event and the racecourse over the years. I don’t know anyone who is as dedicated and passionate about their work than Neil and today he gets to experience a day in hospitality. Enjoy! I am pleased to announce that the Boulton Group will be the new sponsor of the Midlands Grand National for the next 5 years. The “MGN” is the jewel in the crown of our racing schedule at the course. The race is the second longest steeplechase in the racing calendar, second only to the Grand National and has an impressive prize fund of £150,000 for the race. Tickets are on sale from today so book now to get the best price. I hope that you enjoy your day with us today and good luck!!

RACE SUMMARY
KYNTARA looked better the further he went as he galloped his rivals into submission in a Warwick bumper in February. That form is pretty good and the point winner can make a successful start over hurdles. Jack Sharp surely has races in him having been placed on all 3 starts in big-field Doncaster novice hurdles last term. Feivel is also well worth a look starting out for a new yard.

RACE SUMMARY
LONIMOSS BARELIERE chased home one who was completing a hat-trick on his C&D reappearance and he could be the way to go if he can back that up. A return to hurdles sparked Court Jurado back to life last time and he’ll be a threat if in similar form. Rootless Tree could also have a part to play if primed for this reappearance.

RACE SUMMARY
SAYADAM looked a good prospect when scoring at the first time of asking in this sphere at Warwick and can defy a 7lb penalty on his return to make it 2-2. Lady Tremaine has the form to play a part and hails from an in-form yard so rates the chief threat, although a market move for Olly Murphy’s hurdling newcomer Lupus Regem would put a slightly different slant on things.

RACE SUMMARY
LITTLE RIVER BAY enjoyed a good time of things over hurdles last season and promises to do even better as a chaser judged on a stylish win at Worcester last month. Her opening mark looks fair and this step up in trip will suit, so she can see off Anythingforlove and the other two.

RACE SUMMARY
A few in with a chance but the vote goes to ZULU DAWN, who shaped like a non-stayer over 23f at Worcester in September. Graeme McPherson has since joined forces with Fergal O’Brien and he’s taken to make a winning handicap debut for this red-hot operation. Presentedwithwings probably needed his reappearance so he’s feared most with his mark tumbling further, ahead of Edmond Dantes.

RACE SUMMARY
FORWARD PLAN was off the mark in points at the second attempt and is out of a bumper winner, so he’s worth chancing to make a winning Rules debut for a stable that excels in this sphere.
