BANK HOLIDAY

THU 2 JUN Official Raceday Programme & Form Guide

WELCOME

Welcome to our Jubilee Bank Holiday Raceday and a particular warm welcome to our sponsors today, Elite Reception, Brit Plant Direct, Lexus Stoke, The Peacock Family & Cazoo.

The Platinum Jubilee marks 70 years of the Monarch’s reign. Queen Elizabeth II will be the first British Monarch to reach this milestone. The Queen has ruled for longer than any other Monarch in British history, becoming a much loved and respected figure across the globe. Her extraordinary reign has seen her travel more widely than any other Monarch, undertaking many historic overseas visits. Known for her sense of duty and her devotion to a life of service, she has been an important figurehead for the UK and the Commonwealth during times of enormous social change. The Queen first rode a horse at the age of three and her enjoyment of racing has never diminished, with her devotion as a passionate racing fan, owner, breeder and ambassador. The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) is a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 which invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”. To mark this at the racecourse we have planted 2 flowering cherry trees in our pre parade ring along with silver birch trees and new hedging across the site. Look out for our marketing team who will be roaming the site and giving out prizes to our best dressed royals. We also have solo singer, Hattie Murdoch, playing on the Hoops terrace before racing and there is plenty of family entertainment in our centre course with face painting, fairground and our free to use inflatable assault courses. I hope you all get into the party spirit and have an enjoyable day. Good Luck!

FOUNTAINS CHIEF has taken well to hurdling and looks capable of defying a double penalty. Toughasoldboots made a successful debut over hurdles in a race that fell apart at Huntingdon recently, so remains something of an unknown quantity.

RACE SUMMARY

A case can be made for a few of these, but WELL BREFED is taken to emerge on top and confirm herself well handicapped after posting an excellent third in novice company at Warwick where she jumped superbly. La Domaniale and Blue Collar Glory are both interesting chasing recruits though and should ensure Sheila Lewis’ mare doesn’t have things all her own way in a fascinating handicap.

SIMPLY RED did the job well at Bangor recently, despite a less-thanperfect round of jumping, and she looks capable of defying a penalty in a race where most of her rivals have something to prove for one reason or another. Encashment and She’s A Rocca are likely to emerge as the main dangers.
