Welcome to our Rocking Royal Raceday featuring the Staffordshire Plate. Today’s raceday features the jump season opener and a particular warm welcome goes to our sponsors today, Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company We would like to express our gratitude of their continued support of us here at Uttoxeter Racecourse
Our feature race today is the “Marston’s Pedigree Staffordshire Plate Handicap Chase” which is a Class 2 race with an impressive £35,000 up for grabs
As we all know today sees the coronation of King Charles III and I would like to thank you all for choosing to spend this memorable day with us here at Uttoxeter Racecourse. The team and I have had lots of fun and put plenty of hard work in planning and preparing for today’s racing and entertainment.
Prior to the first race there will be a jockey line up and we will be playing the national anthem through our PA Head to outside the office where you can have your picture taken on our very own throne There is also a best dressed “King or Queen” competition so if you have made the effort look out for our ‘spotters’ for a chance to make the final and win some great prizes. In the center course the fairground is here for the little ones and we also have a treasure hunt Head to the sweet shack in the center course to get a competition sheet and once completed return with the answer and receive a prize.
Stick around after racing to see our very own tributes to the “King” and “Queen” with over 90 minutes of your favourite Elvis and Queen hits
This is the first of our exciting music acts this year as we edge closer to our busy Summer calendar
On the 20th May ‘Scouting for Girls’ will be joining us for our popular “Music Live” Raceday followed by a 90’s DJ set with Vernon Kay on Saturday 17th June. ‘Classic Decks’ join us for live entertainment on our very popular Ladies Day on Friday 28th July Book your tickets now for the early bird prices and great value packages before they sell out!
Have a great day and good luck!
Brian Barrass Executive DirectorTHANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS
The Uttoxeter Racecourse Executive would like to thank our sponsors and wish them an enjoyable and prosperous day’s racing

STAR RATINGS EXPLAINED
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
ëëëëë Selected to win the race
ëëëëê Good chance of being placed
ëëëêê By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims.
ëëêêê Unlikely to win but not totally without hope
ëêêêê Can be given little or no chance
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions
A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances) The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non handicap races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating. For novice steeple chasers, the latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the Handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating. Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h.

RACE SUMMARY
HAVEYOUGOTMYMONEY was a bit disappointing when last seen but he returns from a break with a top jockey on board, so he’s worth a chance to land this open-looking handicap back at the scene of his only win. Boundsy Boy and Hill Station are also interesting.
