LIVE MUSIC MONDAY 19 FROM Y JUNE windsor-racecourse.co.uk
WITH
WELCOME
Dear All,
With summer now in full swing, we are delighted to welcome you to our first live concert of 2023 on Irish Night, celebrating the close links between Britain and Ireland in all aspects of horse racing, both on the Flat and over the jumps.
After the final race, head to the paddock lawn where you will be richly entertained by The Wild Murphys, playing some of the best-loved Irish classics in their own inimitable style If your taste in music embraces The Pogues, The Dubliners and even the occasional Foster and Allan, then this is the group for you!
On the track, the feature race is the latest qualifier for the Fitzdares Sprint Series, which culminates in a £75,000 final on 7 August. Many of the heats in this series are over six furlongs, but tonight’s contest is being staged over a furlong less, giving horses who usually prefer the shorter distance the chance to make it through to the final.
The next two Mondays celebrate the tunes of the‘90s (19 June) and the‘00s (26 June), with the stage again in operation at the end of the evening. The bars and street food stalls on the lawn will remain open while the music is playing, allowing you to enjoy the complete al-fresco Royal Windsor experience as the sun goes down.
Ticket bookings for all of our meetings, with discounts for early bookings, may be made online at windsor-racecourse.co.uk. They include the luxury Club Fish and Fizz seafood package and the Royal River, which features a picturesque return trip by riverboat from the town centre to our private jetty near the main entrance.
The weather has been kind to us for our last two meetings, and once again it looks set to provide the perfect backdrop to tonight’s racing and music We hope you will take home happy memories and that you will be able to join us again soon.
Best wishes,
Liam Johnson Executive Director

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent orm under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

RACE SUMMARY
MY GENGHIS looks the most solid option having performed with credit on each of his 3 starts on turf since returning from a break, including over this C&D last month. He is likely to appreciate returning to this trip after finishing third over 6f at Salisbury last time Therehegoes was below par on his first outing on turf for over a year at Chepstow recently but will be a threat if on-song, while Regal Envoy could have a part to play if bouncing back from a low-key effort here 2 weeks ago

SUMMARY
PAINITE made a promising start at Nottingham and could be hard to beat if improving as expected over this longer trip. There could be plenty more to come from South Kensington also after her Newmarket run and she’s the danger ahead of Kempton-winner Lincoln Legacy. RACE SUMMARY
The market should prove revealing but BOLSTER looked a good prospect when making a winning debut at Leicester last autumn and is fancied to make a successful return at the chief expense of promising Kingman colt Apolo, who seems sure to build on his debut C&D fourth. Sir Raj also has the form to play a big part and newcomer Lock The Vault can’t be dismissed either

RACE SUMMARY
A case can be made for a few of these but the most persuasive one is for LAWN RANGER who wasn’t seen to best effect when fifth here last time and is weighted to go close in his bid for a fifth course victory C&D winner Carp Kid and Chelmsford City third Kentucky Kingdom appeal as the pair to give Michael Attwater’s course specialist most to do and can chase him home in that order
