WELCOME
Welcome to the first day of a double bill of racing at Windsor which begins this afternoon with the last of four Family Fun Days at the racecourse this season. As we have seen already this year, it’s a perfect way to introduce the younger ones to the thrills of a day at the races!
We hope that you will enjoy the extra entertainments laid today on as well as doing the things that our regular racegoers experience at all of our race meetings. So feel free to visit the parade ring and see the runners before they go out to race, and to welcome them back afterwards in the vicinity of the winner’s enclosure.
Tomorrow the musical theme is Soul & Motown, with another of our popular concerts taking place on the paddock lawn after racing. But those of you who like finding the winners on the racetrack will, of course, have plenty of opportunities to do that before the musicians begin to perform.
On Thursday (17 August) we have a special evening featuring the third leg of this year’s Racing League. There’s sure to be plenty of fun and banter as the regional teams do battle to see who will win this year’s coveted trophy at the end of the series next month.
We are excited to reveal that we have arranged for 26 August to be Abba Party Raceday featuring some of the most familar songs in pop music history
Internationally renowned Abba tribute band Bjorn Again will be joining us for what promises to be one of the highlights of the Royal Windsor season.
Bookings may be made via our website windsor-racecourse.co.uk with discounts available for early customers. We hope you will be able to avail yourself of this opportunity and that will see you again very soon
Best wishes,
Liam Johnson Executive DirectorColour Graphic

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

RACE STATS RACE SUMMARY
CHARLIE ARTHUR has a lower turf mark to exploit and a third-place finish at Newbury when last seen in June suggests he may well be up to cashing in. She’s A Novelty looks a very solid option, with Breguet Boy another to consider back up in trip
