FAN CAMWELCOME
Welcome to a colourful and exciting few hours of entertainment comprising the third leg of the 2023 Racing League, the annual competition in which seven regional teams compete to claim the coveted trophy in a month’s time at Southwell
After the first two fixtures, last year’s winners Wales and the West lead the table from Ireland in second place, London and the South third; followed by the North, the East, Yorkshire and Scotland in that order Comprehensive updates will be relayed to you throughout the evening
The teams score their points based upon the finishing positions of the horses during the course of all the races on the card. Expect plenty of fun and banter between the jockeys and trainers as well as their respective managers, who also have the difficult job of deciding which horses to run and who will ride them.
Our attention then turns to the next Royal Windsor meeting, on Saturday 26 August, traditionally featuring our most prestigious race of the year, the Group 3 Winter Hill Stakes, which has had an impressive roll-call of winners over the years
Themed for the first time as Abba Party Raceday, the action on the track will be followed by a concert on the lawn with the world-famous tribute band Bjorn Again Please view our website windsor-racecourse.co.uk for booking information.
August is, therefore, a busy month for the racecourse and I hope you enjoy the variety of events on offer as the big prize money and drama of the Racing League arrives in town tonight.
Best wishes,
Liam Johnson Executive DirectorT H A N K YO U TO OU R SP ON SO R S

Team Scotland Team London & The South Team Wales & The West Team The East Team Yorkshire Team The North Team IrelandThe Racing League Joker Card
A new innovation introduced in Racing League 2022 allows each of the managers of the seven competing teams having the opportunity to play a Joker in any two of the 42 races when there are at least 12 horses running.
The Joker doubles the points won by the two horses representing the team in a given race. When played, the team receives double points in that given race but it is not applied to individual jockey points.
The team manager will announce their intention to play a Joker in the Paddock, directly before the selected race This is done by placing a Joker card alongside the team name on the scoreboard in the Paddock.

RACE SUMMARY
PINK SATIN is bred to be better than this grade and was talented enough to make a winning debut over C&D in June There should be more to come on this, her third start and she’s marginally preferred to Chinese Knot, who chases a Racing League hat-trick. Loaded Gun can be forgiven his latest run at Goodwood and completes the shortlist.

Lots with chances so at the likely odds it is worth siding with THUNDER MOOR, who was shaping up well for George Boughey until underperforming in the mud at Goodwood and can bounce back in style Libra Tiger is weighted to go well despite taking a 5lb rise for his recent Sandown success and could emerge as the chief threat, although last-time winners Show Me Show Me and Crimson Angel must enter calculations too.
