Veterinary Care
Horse welfare is a priority at Wolverhampton. At every meeting there are two specially qualified Equine vets appointed to look after the welfare of all the horses in action. One vet is present at the start of each race and during the race follows the runners in a vehicle. Horses can be attended to in the same time as the Paramedic Teams responsible for treating injured jockeys. The second vet follows the action from the stands and coordinates the required response to any incidents. In addition, throughout the meeting a close check is kept on all horses, especially those returning after a race. It is standard policy that in the event of a horse requiring veterinary treatment whilst on site, screens will be erected around the horse. It is designed to afford the vet and the patient some privacy. Please do not assume the worst.

RACE STATS LEADING COURSE TRAINER (16-21): M Johnston (64 wins from 512 runners, 12%) runs ASDAA TRAINER-IN-FORM (LAST 14 DAYS): R Hannon (3 wins from 18 runners, 17%) runs LAFAN WEIGHTWATCHER: ASDAA won off a handicap mark of 86, his rating is now down 7lb to 79. LONGEST TRAVELLER: SWINGING EDDIE trained by G Tuer, Northallerton, 155 miles. RACE SUMMARY The vote goes to MOTAWAAFEQ, who has hit the target 3 times this year and did well to finish as close as he did when third from a poor draw at Kempton recently. Masked Identity snapped a losing run at Newmarket last month and merits respect, but Lafan is second choice, for all that he was below par when behind El Camino at Chelmsford. Cityzen Serg is also worthy of consideration. 1-2-3: 1.MOTAWAAFEQ (FR) 2.LAFAN (IRE) 3.MASKED IDENTITY KEY colours
