Why should I consider an Equido Level 2 course?

Do you want to study the techniques of horse care and handling at a more advanced level? Do you want to broaden your understanding of the true nature of the partnership between man and horse? Do you want to study in greater depth the physiological and psychological needs of the horse? If yes, then Equido Level 2 is the right course for you. Taught full-time, the course is designed to build on the skills acquired in Equido Level 1 to create a thorough and advanced working knowledge of the care and management of horses. The course will be very practical in nature and students will continue to develop their understanding of the horse, its needs and requirements, from a natural psychological perspective.


The course will be split into separate modules which will consider in depth areas including: Feeding and Watering • A working understanding of nutritional values and the correlation of food and energy to work and training requirements • A knowledge of feed rations and production requirements for specific situations Handling • Handling techniques, body language and communication • An introduction to energy control and projection psyche Psychology • A continuing study of equine psychology the interrelationship of the horse with the world around them and their instinctive drivers Anatomy and Physiology • The skeleton, endocrine systems, tendons, ligaments and teeth Health checks • A comprehensive working knowledge of colic, lameness, grass sickness, laminitis, navicular syndrome, isolation and dehydration.

The course will be taught at your local centre.

What qualifications do I need to enrol on this course? Potential students will be expected to have completed Equido Level 1.

How can I continue to develop my natural horsemanship skills? A natural next step for those students who wish to develop their skills further would be Equido Level 3. This course will build upon the skills introduced in Equido 2 to develop a highly practical knowledge of horse care and management coupled with a truly in depth understanding of how the equine mind actually works.
