Stuart is autistic and has been exploring his thoughts and experiences through the medium of ‘cartoon art’.
Though Stuart’s work shows a naive aesthetic, the subject matter is often intensely reflective, exploring the situations and emotions that his autism has led him to encounter.
The drawings utilise an accessible narrative via familiar characters that are derived from our childhood experiences of cute cartoons, but are tinged with darker focuses as they vocalise the issues that resonate in Stuart’s life.
