MEMORIES AND SYMBOLIC LANDSCAPES Time can change places, buildings and untouched memories. Decaying locations are full of these mysterious, gloomy and ethereal energy, waiting to be filled with a meaning. The dreamlike quality of the work is achieved by reducing the specificity of time and space, creating symbolic landscapes where memory and identity are inextricably linked.

The artist, Carmen Thompson, lives in Rio de Janeiro, where she works with a variety of materials in the production of masks, sculptures, paintings, watercolours, and drawings. Since 2008, she has experimented with etching, where she interferes subtly in the process of printing using color to produce an alchemic opulence. Born in Minas Gerais, by the time she was 10 she was already living in Rio de Janeiro and had started her classical ballet studies. Later, she attended modern and contemporary dance courses. The artist arms herself with her dancing experience as an instrument of her action, in life and on paper. She opens eyes to possibilities, unique and unexpected, but at the same time as continuous as movement and poetic as a drawing. For this 2014 exhibition in Berlin and New York, the artist will show her new phase of works, where she uses photography as a starting point for development, leading to creative work on the captured images using digital art resources.

The artwork on the next page is the result of photos taken by myself of the various patterns of marble and stone floor mosaics found in the BasĂlica San Marco, in Venice, Italy. This 12th century flooring is a mixture of mosaic, geometric patterns, and animal designs. The mosaics contain gold, bronze, and a great variety of stones. After taking these pictures, I did collage and editing work, which resulted in this Venice series. All the artworks were printed on 113 x 80 cm Hanhnemuhle paper.

DIRCE FETT dircefett@gmail.com I started painting professionally at a mature age, it was when I could dedicate my time entirely to this passion. Art has always been a part of my daily life even when cooking, raising the kids or painting small secrets works. That’s when I’ve began to search for more knowledge. When I look back, I see my self playing in the garden, climbing trees that I pretend were my office and the little river that flown behind my godmother’s house. I have lived all of that, but in a way I have kept those moments to live over and over. I now live in an intense, unique and special city, surrounded with florest, ocean and a lot of sun. I love painting nature and how it interferes in my affective memory. The colors have a special meaning to my work. The cooking recipies become canvas where the colors are the main ingredients. I try mixing the most varied techniques without worrying about establishing one pattern. Vigorous trace and spontaneity are my signature.

DOUGLAS KNESSE
I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, "the wonderful city". I have always been involved with arts in general, but only started painting in the middle of my 18 years, almost a year ago. Since then, I dedicated myself more to my paintings, in which I try to transmit my emotions, feelings and things I see and learn every day. I like to work with acrylic, pens, spray, collages and things I find interesting to make good works. The anti art and the pop art movements have influenced me with the colours and ideas. In my small journey, I have already done my own exhibition. There I had the opportunity to show some of my paintings, my new style and a part of me. I have also painted a wall in a famous design event (Morar Mais 2014), and even other people's houses.Recently, I had also the opportunity to expose in Finland and in New York City. Art is life. When I'm far from it, life gets unexciting and spiritless for me. She teaches me, makes me confused but makes me feel alive.

FABIANO INACIO photographer photoinaction@hotmail.com fabianodowhill@hotmail.com Fabiano Ignácio has a particular perspective over people, things and places. His photography shows feelings, expressions and there's always a striking look about the human being in its crude version, but it doesn't limit him to only unveil the human species. In his rat's series, the little rodent is portrayed so close and intimate on photographer's lenses that makes us think of who we're in the society. The rats represent all the people who are not noticed and doesn't find a place to belong, living on the crumbs until the day that playing the plague role they'll get to be noticed.

I was born in Mozambique and I have been living in Brazil since 1975. When I was a child one of my favorite ways to spend time was to do "dinamic " drawnings, where the story happend animated on paper. I loved comic books and books about art. I was atracted by books with pictures and images, could spend hours looking and feeling them. I was liked to create and I went to Universtity to do Advertment. While in the University I started my experiences with video and animation. I have been working with motion designer, Illustration an fine arts. Im a biker and because of my love for Harley-Davidson, Customs Old Style and biker culture, my work many times shows this lifestyle. My paints are figuratives, closer to realism, working with acrilic ink in material as canvas, jeans and metal plate.

JABIM NUNES
“Modular Surface” Jabim Nunes has been working on this series for eight years. He makes paintings from colorful cuttings; his seductive intention is clear. They are geometrical and make organic architectural sceneries – slums. From the chaos to the platform of the fragile, violent and always changing world; this include the cybernetic era. Time has changed. This makes everything to be quickly and effectively thought. Just like Jabim’s paintings – fast and effective – takes you to the light, seduces you, asks you to be appreciated, the wailing exhaustion makes the painting assume a fundamental guiding role (aesthetic and contemporary). Art, like a trained hawk, flies high and goes back to the falconer. Although it can fly high and never come back, it needs to come back. Thus is art. In these paintings, colors spreads to be collected into geometrical forms, overlapping the color match. A Luminous and clean painting, it allows a dialog between art and observer. Jabim does not want to recreate the wheel, just let it spin. The painting is created so that it becomes organic. A rectangle here is a rectangle in Japan and also in Iran. But the context – social, political, environmental, architectural – is what changes… His balanced overlap of figures (not always rectangular) on the support is perfect. It reflects our desire of finding that figures in constructions, condominiums, slums and roadsides. The organization of the figures in the cover support allows a tireless combinations of forms and background. The architecture is evident, inevitable; impossible not to be reminisced of a slum before Jabim’s work. But it is not so simple. The sight sews the scene, pictorially gathering the elements of space. The painting takes its way, slow and cheerful. So Jabim makes his solar painting at present time; the time belongs to him… the time doesn't exist. There is, though, the space to be filled and Jabim does it wisely, filling the spaces with clean and luminous colors in a solar and spiritual painting. Color makes form, and vice-versa. Gilvan Nunes
LETÍCIA ZICA lehzica@hotmail.com leticiazicaphotography.com INDIGESTIBLE PROJECT The Indigestible Project is consisted by a serie of seven digital selfportraits, in wich I use overlapping images to create an artistic atmosphere relating the photos to each other, because it is of great importance the course of the essay and the time of its realization. For these photos, I used materials such as gourds and old mattresses from the house where I grew up, to create anomalies in my body. Since it’s a work of self-portrait, at the time of the essay, I try to express all indigestible sensations in my soul, that are directly related to my external environment, because living in a big city like São Paulo, the feeling of having and, at the same time, not having possession it is constant, whether in professional or intimate relationships, it’s always a game of loss and gain. Hence the title of the work, indigestible, says much more than a imagetic troublesome, but the folly of life. The old mattresses had a huge emotional importance for the photos, mattressesess I slept throughout my childhood and youth, are now parked, unused, as if my marks also remained there, dead. But through the art, they cross my path again, and reborn differently. The marks revealed by these mattresses are extremely intimate to my body, they reveal the unconscious way of being there for years, dreaming or not. And then I get that loss and gain feeling back again, but also the feeling of having lived so many moments there in my space of insecurity, security, distant thoughts, endless plans and pure imagination. However, over time and with the changes along my life, the feeling of uncertainty and insecurity, not only personal, but regarding others and the world as well, grows increasingly. The insecurity of the body itself, its fragility and its finitude, creates an anguish brought by this essay. Insecurity of being what you are and what you appear to be, just like in our society. Frailty and finitude by not knowing how far I will take it with me, or how far it’s going to take me with, but what we both know is that someday none will lead. The gourds help to affirm the finitude of life, they are the fruit of trees that have no use, dead they become free objects. Therefore, they were essential to the creation of this essay, representing that death was there, helping another life that one day will also reach its destination, helping to create new images that reflect human feelings, helping to personify the folly of life. Thus, I believe this essay brings out feelings, purely, revealed in a personal way, in which I use photography to awaken these feelings in the viewers, feelings often forgotten and embittered inside each one, I call attention to this, to being an opening for anyone who sees these pictures, an opening in which there is no loss or gain, but liberation. 115 x 95 cm Laminates of different woods
I am passionate about the woods with all its beings, processes and relationships, source of all my inspiration and commitment. By creating sculptures with terracotta, charred trunks, photographing birds or spending this forest's remains in the urban context through fragments of wood's laminates the found in the garbage of the furniture industry. In recent years I´ve been creating inexhaustible "Fragments of Memory", a result of these cuttings impregnated with deforestation stories - fires, forest peoples. Process of fragmenting matter and time creating poetic units as witnesses of our presence and of this planet Earth. Reminiscences given to the look.

The painter, born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, but living in Brasília, DF, ever since 1994, is well known by her favorite theme: Brazilian colonial windows in architectural approaches and, at the same time, encompassing strong psychological messages. Walking through various focuses, utilizing both technical and pictorial knowledge, learned through the study and practice of art, Malu reaffirms her preference for figurative art, changing her regular view by creating a series of works in which she pictures the landscapes of Rio de Janeiro. With firm and contemporary drawings, strong and harmonic colors, she represents the shape of the mountains that surround the Guanabara Bay over hot and sunny backgrounds. By doing so, Malu makes a tribute to her homeland, the "Marvelous City", in unforgettable scenes of sunrise and sunset. MARCO BRAGA DEONOMO the Fluent Mundi - The conception of a world with fragments I'm Marco Antonio Braga, born August 21, 1963 in SĂŁo Paulo, Brazil. Having proposed art as communication between author / receiver, call my works 'Manifestations fragmental', working as an invitation to communication, knowing and recognizing. Taken as 'fragments', the works in their entirety, reveal the search for a possible equalization between opposing forces resulting in a 'structured time' presented as an 'unstable equilibrium'. The code that accompanies the title of the works suggests 'positioning' in the structure of something larger, something that I call 'Deonomo'. The concept of Deonomo refers to the process of 'world view', the very process of artistic creation, a world in eternal fluency, discovery, research and construction (which will end up as unfinished work). Fragment as perceived, the work, and an integral part of designing DEONOMO, now also part of the construction of other 'worlds', those of the observers themselves, and with it, the relationship is established communication.

At the same time I have always done my paintings, my painting is now focused almost entirely to oil painting, digital painting and pastel painting. My studies were always facing a figurative art Hyper academic realism sometimes total abstraction in painting always look for colors that can produce more "emotions" the viewer, sometimes with pastel colors, sometimes with strong and warm colors, as the contrasts let them define the forms, as always works are representations of a very singular vision. Seek essentially portray the beautiful, harmonious, with a view of the spectator who sees the world through a window seek what gives us pleasure, as to the means and techniques ...
MEMÉ VIZZOTTO ma.amelia.br@hotmail.com www.facebook.com/MemePivaVizotto MeMé experiences art since her childhood, as she comes from a family of artists, including her uncle, Albano Vizzotto Filho, a realist painter, and the Campana Brothers, contemporary designers. She works plastically on three-dimensional compositions with issues relating to the animal kingdom, realized by its diversity of shapes and characteristics. She uses a variety of materials to represent them, including her unique printmakings. Her creative process begins carefully through the selectivity of ideas that emerge through several drawings, which organize themselves into the threedimensional compositions. The line-up of empty spaces alternate plans are the building blocks of these figurations, which are set in dynamic volumes, full of compositional elements from architectural spaces. MeMé reviews the art object's traditional idea. What matters it is the invention, a figure that has both realism and inventive features. Angela Bassan Artist
REGINA RICCI www.reginaricci.com Objects "Words" Objects "Words" are verses which intertwine in a a volatile role-changing movement between shapes and words that, once plasticised, are embeded, incrusted in a continous weave, in a process within space-time where technology segments itself as a present-time muse. In this sense we beat a retreat, towards the flask of the reserves, of the relics: the praxis of human enterprise. And in order to enrich our life-giving experience, we journey and dive around the sources of our own instinctive reactions, our values and meanings, our protective module. We then set course towards living in the company of the reserve of our roots, with the daily life that home making itself proposes: the prompt reestablishing of the natural order of things. By retorting to such practices, actions and decisions, we touch the warp of the cloth =of the social fabric we aim to revet ourselves with. Oniric dream? Penelope's dream? Weave the cloak. Seek the warp and mount the weft Recover the cloth. Weave the cloak. Sacred cloak. Mary's cloak. Mary of the calloused hands on which the imprint of M - from Mother - brings the indelible seal of the role of Woman. Weave the cloak. With bleached bags that in a moment get imprinted and gone grey with the soot of servile work. Cloths that get configured as palimpsests with overlayings of layers imprinted by pain and by the the efforts of the work to be done. Achieve and compose the symbolic production of passion. Overcome the anguish and promote the freed from the downtrodden. Be able to be and attain the long-sought dream. There is, in our view, the myth of the role of Woman!
Tecer o manto. Buscar a urdidura e montar a trama. Reaver o tecido. Tecer o manto. Manto sagrado. Vencer a angústia e promover o liberto do abatido. Eis, a nosso modo, o mito do papel Mulher! ReginaRicci / março 2015

ROBINSON OLIVEIRA

ROSA DE JESUS Rosa de Jesus was born in Portugal, graduated in fashion designer, and immigrated with his family In her youth she devoted himself to drawing fashion, until his restlessness and sensitivity, led to ways of painting as a way of expressing your feelings. There are many references, while no weaves structures on which expands the Rosa does not stop the formalist attitude, and expressed the willingness to put his painting as unequivocal affirmation of the symbiosis between art and life. Just by promoting sensible approach to experiences of those who passed obstacles.

SILVANA SOUZA Silvana Souzza, a self taught painter born in Rio De Janeiro in 1972. She has been interested in art since early childhood and decided to become passionate about painting in the 90’s as she listened to her inner voice. Silvana started taking painting classes in Brazil and over the years learned numerous techniques, with a focus on landscape and still life paintings. Her ongoing search for a more original design and her years of artistic development has led to a transitional period which led her down the path of a more abstract style. This style, by evidence is one that she possesses with much accomplishment. She now feels free in her art as having much respect and experience in this particular form. Her paintings are acrylic on canvas, and this technique allows her to express her emotion and sensitivity, with many colors that remind her of her home country. In 2008 Silvana decided to move to France, seeking a new and fresh horizon. Her fresh start is clearly seen in her more recent drawings and paintings. Her creations were developed in a chateau in the city where she lived under the Italian professor Luigi Fegali. Her paintings are shown in her local gallery as well as around Paris. This painting is published in the book “ Artists Across Continents – Sao Paulo, Brazil 2014” as well as “Bienal of Contemporary Carrousel du Louvre Paris, France 2014”. “I hope through my work that I have brought fundamental values such as freedom of expression, freedom of opinion, and artistic creativity”

XILIP (Felipe Gasnier) http://xilip.tumblr.com Art with no rules His art doesn't have technics, or even rules. Maybe the only rule is to be part of his universe, so he can put out his own experiences, intensely. In his paintings is possible to find names of loved ones (and also from the ones that are not so much loved), memories, dates and tons of deep feelings. The looks and faces with strong expressions, the colors and the heavy atmosphere of the drawings maybe bring to you sensations, curiosity, repulse or even comfort. The interpretation of the viewer is also free, without rules. Coming from the punk scene from ABC Paulista, in Brazil, xilip started painting as a hobby, kind of in a terapeutic way. He posted his work on the internet and soon brought up the attention from friends, and the first big incentives and calls arrived. He signed record covers and t-shirts of Brazilian underground bands, made illustrations for magazines and notebooks, and since them he hasn't stopped. From the walls of friends to the walls of galleries, a not so simple step, but still necessary. Or inevitable? Doesn't matter: the colored arts, with acrylic paint and markers, are on their way, and already calls the attention from beyond his country frontiers. 74

HELENA VAARI helena.vaari@phnet.fi www.helenavaari.fi Helena Vaari is a textile artist and an artist of arts and crafts. She designs and sews works of textile art for both private residence and public premises. Textiles for Churches are her specialities. Vaari takes part on group exhibitions and has ones of her own. The artist´s techniques are application, free machine embroidery and textile collage. Vaari calls it painting by sewing machine. The yarns are her colours and the needle is her brush. The tiny yarns have special power. The yarn is three-dimensional, it has the twist and the beautiful shine. When Vaari sews hundreds of tiny twisted yarns together, the power and the three-dimensional effect of the yarns will strengthen. The picture is very lively, when the light reflects from the yarns and gives power to the whole works. Helena Vaari is very interested in folds of the clothes, shadows and lights. She wants to represent fabric by fabric; to sew pictures where human is wearing shirts and coats and to see the three-dimensional movement of the fabrics by painting sewing machine. Helena Vaari wants to share the feelings of joy and beauty through her works to people. Vaari considers top class quality very important in her designs and works of textile art.

VERONICA ÖSTERMAN www.veronicaosterman.com veronicaosterman@gmail.com The interplay of light, shadows and colors are the central elements in Veronica Österman's art. She first understood the effect of light on color and form when studying at Helsinki's Free Art School. In Österman's paintings, light accentuates lines and shapes, it moulds the space softly and creates hazy atmospheres. Bright light highlights a building's contours and pierces the windows. Österman's cityscapes lie somewhere between faithful portrayal and abstract art. Her colour palette has been compared with that of Finnish painter Helene Schjerfbeck, and her style shares some of the sensibilities of Turner and Monet. The urban motif began appearing in Österman's work soon after she completed her formal training. It is no wonder as the artist has lived in Helsinki most of her life, and the landscape most familiar to her has always been urban. The clean lines of buildings give the space of a particular energy, an edge. "A painting should not be too beautiful, you need something to grasp hold of," Osterman says. For this reason, imposing industrial cranes have found their way into her paintings. Nowadays, Veronica is painting at her studio at the Cable Factory in Helsinki, Finland and also in Benalmadena, Spain.

My name is Merja Simberg and I live and work in Helsinki, Finland.Painting is an adventure where I am an anxious explorer. I paint abstract and enjoy the process itself. I love observing how the colour moves and makes patterns along with the tensions, contrasts and variations of depth perception. The actual physical painting exercise gives me lots of inspiration. I want to convey and arouse emotions. My works are always attached with a name that plays an important role for the viewer as a mean for understanding my thoughts and intentions.

SANNA MARIA PAANANEN sannamariapaananen.com sannamariapaananen@gmail.com Sanna Maria Paananen is a 26-year-old artist from Finland. Her artworks exhibit modern day allegorical figures, usually dealing with themes like being an artist, self-identity, being female and how to view femininity. Important stylistic choices in her works are the theatrical bluish-tinted limited palette and how the figures never fully engage the viewer, which represents the painter's introverted personality. Paananen's paintings are mainly done in oil paint using just three colors - a viridian green, alizarin crimson red, and white. To create contrasts in this otherwise subdued and minimalist manner of painting she mixes in other types of paint and collage materials such as newspaper. The collage materials are used as if paint: manipulated in different ways to have gradations from light to dark when needed. The end result is a combination of the Finnish and Russian art education the artist has received. Something new, something old, creating a personal way of working.

RITVA LARSSON (Born 1965) www.ritvalarsson.net ritva.larsson@gmail.com I´m an artist, social worker, feminist, social- and queer activist. My artwork takes a critical view of social, political and cultural issues. My paintings explore the juxtaposition of the traditional with the unconventional: the social issues and problems of the day by using traditional painting techniques. I think all art is political in it´s own way. There is none that isn't. Art can´t change the world but art can make people talk, think and question.

DAN PALMGREN The photographs in this series were taken in Iceland, in Japan on the island of Hokkaido, as well as on the shores of the Dead Sea. The photographs are connected by water in different forms, sometimes down low as snow or ice and at other times high above as steam or clouds. I took the photographs during hikes as well as during flights. I wanted the photographs to be scary or threatening in their composition or direction. An undulating movement, which is coming towards us. The most frightening nature experiences for me personally happened in Iceland. The wind could suddenly pick up speed and become a storm high up in the mountains – such a strong wind that rocks would take flight. The fog was so dense that you had to stand still quietly or try and run away when it came close. If I photographed during sunset I had to make haste so that I could still find the road home. The fog, up high in the Hokkaido mountains, could be so thick that I could not see my own hand. There I went very close to the geothermal steam, so close, that I was engulfed in it. The earth shook – the sounds from the springs were as strong as those of a highway. The photographs are minimalistic. If we play with an idea long enough, everything disappears and nothing is left. Not this text, not photographs and not us.

I am excited by the tropic light, considering it a colour in itself and, above all, it offers, on the scene to the imagination and the magic of colours. HANNA JÄRVENPÄÄ was born in Orivesi 1980. www.kuvataiteilijamatrikkeli.fi/fi/taiteilijat/3522 hanmirjar@gmail.com She specialized on art graphics and got Bachelor of Fine Arts from Institute of Fine Art and Design from the North Carelia Polytechnic in 2003. Järvenpää got the 1st prize on altarpiece competition organized by The University of Joensuu with her piece “We All” made from eggshells in 2002. She had her thesis exhibition with by the topic Bounty of Life. Her first working grant Järvenpää got in 2010. She has had multiple solo exhibitions around Finland and her pieces has been shown among others in exhibitions ARTISTS 2012 and NEW MUU 2012. Themes of human behavior and being human are involved in Järvenpää`s work. Evil exists inside everyone andmoral codes are different among nationalities and religions. Death is often attended not as fearful but as a final truth that unmasks material vanity from everyone. Recycled materials are important part of the working and possible ecological vanishing of pieces is essential. Old sheets and paper from tea bags have been used as a base for cyanotype pictures that are used partly intuitive assembling of collages. Pieces and exhibitions made of them are many times growing projects that are meant to continue irregularly. The process is often variegated and slow. Alternative photography method anthotype and rust monotype are techniques that require waiting. They are also partly based on coincidence like life. Among the nowadays hectic life Järvenpää`s pieces aim to stop for a moment.

TARJA BRUUN-JÄRVENPÄÄ www.kuvataiteilijamatrikkeli.fi/fi/taiteilijat/3363 Nature has always been a vital source of inspiration to my art. To me nature is not just a visual location, – it is something to experience with all my senses. On my daily strolls in the forests and on the fields I capture details with my camera and use these pictures as sketches and visual assistance to my works, but I also strive to imprint the feeling of that particular moment in my art. My working space is not a conventional room, as the sky over my head, the ground under my feet and the trees and bushes surrounding me form the ever changing boundaries of my atelier. In ”Studio Naturel”, as I have named it, I use my self-made press to print my works. The press is not a classical type of a press, as I have to push and press with my body weight a metal trundle in order to print my works. Working outdoors gives me this very special feeling of being a part of the environment and at the same time I wish the environment itself to take part in the painting process. The texture of my works may contain all kinds of marks from outdoors. As “Studio Naturel” is my special outdoor atelier,I work outdoors from spring to autumn regardless of weather conditions. My works are colour graphics and the technique I use is monotyping.

After a day or a week, even a year, it combines with another feeling or experience and comes out on paper as a new painting." Marja Eerola was born in 1979 in Pori, Finland. MERJA ALA-OLLA www.artmerkut.fi artmerkut@gmail.com I am an artist and a teacher of art and judo from the west coast of Finland. I like the magic moment, when the human being or the wild animal meets the mist, the rainbow or the aurora borealis. My art contains small glimpses of the nature. Every sunset and every moon are the worth of experience and good ideas to make a picture. In my ceramic figures, paintings and graphic prints man solves his relationship with nature and he notice, how small he is in the front of the big nature. I like to sit on the rocks and look the seagulls and swallows playing in the horizon. I think it is nowadays even more important to stay in the nature, stop hurry and enjoy different sounds, shapes and lights there.

MAIJA HELIN-Ă…VALL www.helin-avall.net About painting: The basis of my paintings is often an observation, an experience, a very common issue or a feeling. Landscape can be inspiring. A small hint of a landscape is enough - a place in itself is already a piece of the world. And then the painting just carries with it, there will be new perspectives, new interpretations. I let the thought and the feeling to take over, happens something new, something unexpected. I paint what it feels like at the moment, not so much what something looks like. When painting, you can live a moment in another world - that's enough. Only in this way can be found something essential and private, all important gets condensed, all the redundant is eliminated. What remains is an essential: colors, shapes, and the state of the atmosphere... space for the viewer's own interpretation.

His works belong to private and public collections such as the Museum of Modern Art of Bahia, Centro Cultural dos Correios in Bahia, Centro Cultural dos Correios in Rio de Janeiro, BGA - Brazil Golden Art in São Paulo. “I create a narrative that takes place in intersections, it’s winding and nonlinear. It begins with photographic records I’ve been gathering and filing in several different places. These images accumulate and at one point I revisit them in a pictorial plane”, says Gustavo ... “They represent yearnings of childhood, in a way, they are like some sort of time retention.”

In this essay, Gloria Accioly celebrate through the photography, a veritable rite of passage. This rite is staged by the artist, through Transpositions, is a kind of middle way to use a valuable expression to Jungian psychology. This is the same archetypal phase of life to which Dante Alighiere refers in the verses of the Divine Comedy, in that once he had realized that was inside a dark jungle, needed to rediscover how to return the true way. This is a challenge that each one needs to do it in his way: there is not a same way for two different walkers. As all puzzle already contains within it the seeds of its own solution, for Gloria, the photography acted as a means of symbolic expression, unveiling a new field of possibilities, actions, representations and poetic selfrepresentation of the world, in search of unexpected profiles in a metamorphoses rehearsal.

URHO KÄHKÖNEN www.urho.info www.facebook.com/taidegalleria It is a journey without stops. It is a loaf of bread and a wafer. It is light and shadow. It is an escapist attempt to reach the lost Garden of Eden. It is an unopened door. It is to face myself in a no man´s land. It is confusion. It is a drama queen. It is a mandala and a mantra. It is gravitation. It is the default of how to be. All this is what art means to me. It is not a coincidence that light has become the central element in my paintings. Light creates form, colour and rhythm. Light is vital for living and seeing. Because of that, light is also a symbol of faith, divine providence and reason in different cultures around he world.
