In a time where we are so concerned about our planet and world peace, we continue to look forward into the future. We are always concerned as a society about what the new trend is, and how we can create brand new technology that will help better society, and our community. Autumn/Winter ’17-’18 will be a season of Juxtaposition. With moving into the future, we are searching for the known in the unknown. Our society being very influenced on one another, and people following one another, we are losing being unique and finding our differences with one another. We are losing the contrast with one another and instead blending into each other. In Futuristic Playground, we are going to be focused on advancing within technology. Being able to move forward into a world full of options and advancing our world. Showing more skin without society frowning upon it is shown in Unauthorized Femininity. In a Modern Stone age, we are focusing on using Earth’s natural resources into our own everyday life for sustainability. We will finally move forward with the belief of flying cars and living in space in Retro Futurism. With all this advancement into technology, we will be more conscious with our money. Frugal Fortune will take us into a world where we strive to live in a rich life setting but can only attain and afford so much. This season will be a season of Juxtaposition. 3

In a world full of technology, we will only continue to grow with no limits. Technology will only be advancing, and we will soon be living in a time where we can change our hair colors, or outfits, with the push of a button. Futuristic Playground gives us a time where we can find our uniqueness among all the blending in. We will continue to discover new advancements in bettering our world, and will look to technology in advancing our lives. Our textiles represent the future as we see it, with hypertension images and holographic prints. Products will continue to expand and exceed our expectations and living our everyday lives will only become easier.

Around the world women are shamed for showing miniscule parts of their bodies, meanwhile men have the pleasure to do so freely. As we continue to advance with technology, we advance in society. W are growing to accept and to be different than to expect what we already expect. Women showing as much skin as they please, and not having to cover themselves up head to show in shame. With the “Free the Nipple� movement, we are growing to accept women as they are and not as we expect them to look like. Our textiles represent very sultry prints and colors as we still want to embody the Woman as a temple, but want to be able to show that one can still show enough skin and be acceptable, and not frowned upon.

In a time where we are looking for sustainability, we are looking to use Earth’s natural resources in our everyday lives. Using these natural resources, being organic, recycling, we are looking to sustain our Earth so it continues to thrive and be habitable for us, our families, and their families in the future. Using our Earth’s natural stones, marbles, rocks, instead of manufacturing and polluting our air and water we are only helping the Earth. The textiles used are straight from our Earth, using marble and rocks and implementing them into our everyday wear and tear. This will help decrease the pollution and creating a sustainable environment so we can remain an organic planet and not have to worry about what will happen next.

As we continue to advance with very futuristic technology, we tend to look back and reference what has been done in the past with television shows, movies, and fashion. We can capitalize on what has been done when looking back to the 50’s, a time where they filmed the future showcasing flying cars, living on the moon and living under the water. We continue to look back at these films and wonder how we can bring these ideas to life. Currently, we are looking to advance our culture and society. This is a time for referencing the space and retro stage, and taking these products they envisioned and bringing them to life. Living in a time where we are prototyping flying cars, and flying people on a mission to live on Mars, we are going to be looking back and referencing these retro images. The textiles corresponding with this trend this season represent retro patterns with a futuristic 50’s twist.

We are living in a time where debt keeps rising yet we still try and achieve the luxurious lifestyle we idolize and see in magazines and on television. Frugal Fortune embodies what living in a luxurious time on a limited budget looks like. We strive to help our families and live on a budget without going overboard, yet in a society today, it is hard not to be judged upon what you’re wearing, your zip code, or what your house looks like on the inside. Society has become extremely judgmental, and with that we try to live up to everyone’s standards. Gold textiles and products make up this season for the luxurious factor. Black shades are symbolized in the textiles for despair and distraught. We look to buying to help lift our moods and impress those around us, yet we really can’t afford to do so.
