Kaley is now in the 8th grade and still devoted to acting. She recently auditioned for the 8th grade play and landed the role of Rapunzel in “Into the Woods.” The performance is scheduled for next March.
Kaley turned 13 years old in June. Now in her last year of middle school, the Kelly’s are already applying to high school! Kaley has chosen to audition for theater programs at Coral Reef Sr. High School and New World School of the Arts. Both auditions are in January. Kaley was chosen to represent Troupe 88126 at this year’s district Jr. Thespian competition, which took place at Braddock High School in November. She competed in a large group musical number and presented costume designs based on the book, Cyrano de Bergerac. The large group number won Superiors and will go to state! She was awarded an Excellent on her costume designs, which will also go to state! Southwood took home several other awards, including 2 Critics Choice awards!

Kaley is a Black Belt!
Spirit Cheer Competition
December 20, 2014
March 8, 2014
Although this cheerleading event happened last school year, it was a very exciting time for Kaley, her team and the school. The squad took first place in their division and brought home the first ever win in Cheer to Southwood Middle School. The banner now hangs in the main hallway of the school. Kaley made the cheerleading squad again this school year, but after several practices, has chosen to leave the team to pursue other interests. Kaley is an official First Degree Black Belt! After passing her 3 required midterms, which are only given four times per year, Kaley qualified to take her final test in December. The test was given on December 13th and she was awarded her new rank at the official black belt ceremony on December 20th. Kaley's journey started back in April of 2011 and now, 3 years and 8 months later, she has earned her black belt! Her family is very proud of her accomplishment! You can view both the testing and ceremony videos on The Kelly’s YouTube Channel:

Disney World
Fall Vacation in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee October 23-27, 2014 This year the girls went back to the Smoky Mountains for 3 days. Their activities included visits to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, the Blue Ridge Parkway and North Carolina. Sunday was spent at Dollywood, where the rode roller coasters and ziplined over the fall trees! The weather was sunny and beautiful, but unseasonably warmer than last year. Read more about their trip over on the blog: http://tinyurl.com/lwsoczt
Now that the Kelly’s have Season Passes, they are able to visit Disney many more times during the year. This year the girls visited during Spring Break, Memorial Day weekend and Thanksgiving weekend. During Spring Break, they visited all 4 parks. Memorial Day weekend was hot, but they cooled off at Blizzard Beach, which was their first time at a Disney water park. They also fit in both Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom. Although the new Mine Train coaster was not officially open to the public, they waited in line in the hopes of a soft opening and it paid off ! Thanksgiving weekend they revisited their 2 favorite parks, Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom. The best part about visiting late November is that the parks are fully decorated for Christmas. To these two ladies‌ Disney really it is the happiest place on earth. Gallery: http://tinyurl.com/merk2qn

KELLY Times Kaley’s 13th Birthday Party June 28, 2014
This year Kaley had her 13th birthday party at Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park. After a couple of hours of jumping and a pizza party, the girls headed back to the Kelly ’s for cake and a slumber party! Even Lily wanted to play Twister with the girls!
In Other News Steve went back to work at an auto shop earlier this year. In his spare time, Steve is still teaching guitar. He teaches all ages and styles. both in and out of the house. Now that Kaley is a little older, it has made it a little easier to make the transition back into a full time working household.
Going to the Dogs Lily is now 2. Who’s that to the left, you ask? That’s Penny, Lily’s weekend playmate. Penny belongs to Steve’s boss, but the Kelly’s take her home to play on the weekends. The dogs make a great pair and enjoy each other’s company.
Happy New Year from The Kelly’s! To view this newsletter online and for clickable links, please visit this website: http://tinyurl.com/omhw48r
