Olympic Peninsula Fall Trip 10/8/2009 - 10/14/2009
Olympic Peninsula Fall Trip 2009 We had an amazing time in Washington and Canada. We drove nearly 900 miles! We hiked trails, mountains and a rainforest! Although it was hard to capture the sheer size and beauty of this area, this photo book is our reminder of our journey through this majestic wonderland. We won’t soon forget the sight, sound or smell of the Hoh Rainforest. Or the sound of the Pacific ocean crashing against the cliffs at Cape Flattery. Or the roaring sound of one of the many waterfalls that we hiked to. We saw gray whales, humpback whales, deer, elk, birds and chipmunks! We drove to Mt. Rainier and hiked to 6000 feet and it snowed! We stood high upon the mountains of the Olympic National Park and heard nothing but the sound of nature and the wind through the trees. We also have an answer to that age old question...Would you hear a tree if it fell in the forest? YES! We heard one crack and fall at the base of Mt. Rainier and we were so glad that it sounded far off in the distance! The memories will never be far away for either one of us. It was an amazing journey through the Pacific Northwest.
