Running a team comprised of your peers can be difficult, but it has also the most rewarding experience looking back. As for me, I will no longer be President next year, however I know that the team will thrive under the new leadership and continue to be successful inside and out of the show ring.

WRITTEN BY KATHERINE UVA, CLUB SPORTS EXECUTIVE
Wednesday, April 8th was our second to last Club Sports Council meeting, however in my opinion it was the most impactful meeting of the year. Sharply at 5:00pm, the Club Sports Council gathered and began the night full of decisions. This semester the Club Sports Executives have been working with four activity clubs who want to become Club Sports Teams. One activity club decided not to continue the process; however two activity clubs chose to present their proposal of why they should become a Club Sports team to the Council during this week’s meeting. Appalachian Archery Club and Mountaineer
20
Water Polo presented their proposals to the Club Sports Council. We are excited to announce that Archery will become a Club Sport team, pending approval the Office of Student Development. After listening to the proposals and voting on the two activity clubs, the Council was tasked to vote on the Club Sports Program awards which included, Team of the Year, Officer of the Year, and Turn-Around Team of the Year. The results of these awards will be announced at the Club Sports Banquet. Then to conclude the night, the Council also elected the 2015-2016 Club Sports Executives; these individuals are Olivia
Chason, Chad Deaver, and Patrick Sekel. Being a Club Sport Executive takes a lot of time, determination, and sometimes a few tears of frustration, but after being in this position for year, I know I can honestly say that all of the hours and work is 100% worth it. The Club Sports Council has become a family this year, and I know that I will miss being a Club Sport Executive, however as we grow and us three current executives “graduate” from the program, I know that the three of us learned about ourselves, about each other, and that together we left a legacy.
