Music Makes A Difference!

he Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus and the Atlanta Women’s Chorus want to entertain you, lift your spirits, involve you in dialogue about issues affecting our community and join with you to make our community more vibrant, diverse, loving and accepting for all our citizens. We hope to create a diverse community united by our music. That’s a tall order but we tackle it with each of the groups three season subscription concerts, multiple community engagements and our outreach performances. Both groups rehearsed virtually during the COVID-19 shelter at home period. It’s quite a challenge to sing together when you are not in the company of your fellow musicians! It speaks to the camaraderie of both groups that members called in, rehearsed on their own, listened to music tracks to learn the notes and worked hard to maintain their internal community and spirit while preparing for the fall concerts! As a result of the cancellation of our June shows, we are very excited to sing for you in September! The singers of the women’s chorus are working a tribute to the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote. This concert will spark gratitude and
wonder at the foresight and bravery of the suffragettes who pushed to gain women the vote! The music is rousing, uplifting and at times poignant. This concert promises to be a look back at the way things were 100 years ago as well as cause pause to consider how much more work there is yet to be done. The Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus is working on music to lift your spirits after social distancing, face masks, and handwashing! The men of the chorus will shine through with music to inspire, entertain and uplift with “We Need A Little Light.” Both groups are dedicated to living out mission — to inspire dialogue and drive social equity through artistic excellence.
