Cultivating the Spring Seeds

Preparing for a Harvest of Live Concerts!

T

here is no doubt that the pandemic has altered the way performing arts organizations deliver their product. We have seen a new level of innovation and creativity unfold over the past year, and Atlanta Master Chorale has continued to seek new ways to share the transformative power of our music. During this pause in live performance, we have remained connected with our faithful patrons and have also drawn a much broader audience through our virtual programming. Many seeds have been planted as we continued to deliver music that touches spirit — both nationally and globally. Now that there is hope of returning to live concerts in the fall, we are planning for the new season with a guarded optimism. But even with the impending return to stage, Atlanta Master Chorale will continue to cultivate the seeds we have planted through our expanded programming that has further connected us with our friends, patrons and donors. In a normal year, Atlanta Master Chorale is winding down our season, singing a final concert in May and then going silent until the next season’s premiere concert in October. This year, we will continue our virtual programming

through the summer with new YouTube video releases and our Spirited Conversations: Behind the Scores live interview series. We hope you will join us for our next episode on April 19 at noon, featuring Jonathan Easter, Atlanta Master Chorale accompanist and increasingly sought-after collaborative organist/ pianist. Registration is also open for our noon conversations with Mark Lawson, President of ECS Publishing Group/ MorningStar on June 21, Dr. André Thomas on May 10, Tenor Samuel Hagan on July 12, and Dantes Rameau, CEO and cofounder of Atlanta Music Project on August 30. Register and details are available at AtlantaMasterChorale.org. Interviews will be recorded and available on our website. During this unusual year, we have been blessed with an ever-expanding virtual audience. With 1.3 million YouTube views, Atlanta Master Chorale’s performances have now been viewed in all 50 states and in more than 100 countries worldwide, and our subscribers have grown by more than 40 percent. Our generous donors and patrons have fertilized the field, enabling our music to continue to touch spirit during a time when many needed it the most. Stay TUNED for our next season.
