T
he Kohler PowerWAVE MF1500 DPA is a new high-power modular UPS for data centres which offers the best energy efficiency on the market, excellent power conditioning and the highest form of availability. Its innovative slide-in, cable-free module design allows safe hot swappability without powering down or switching to raw mains. That in turn increases availability and allows a ‘pay-as-you-grow’ approach, should forecast final loads be higher than initial ones. By using the latest generation of components, advanced software and optimised electrical design, the new MF1500 DPA also brings new levels of energy efficiency to the 1.0-1.5MW class. At 97.4% efficiency, this puts it around 0.5% to 1% ahead of competitors, potentially saving users over £150k in electrical and cooling costs per 1MW of load over a 10-year period.
These advances come whilst retaining our proven and respected Decentralised Parallel Architecture (DPA). This pioneering design approach means every UPS module is practically its own UPS,
with all the essential functional units needed for independent operation. In turn that dramatically increases system reliability and can improve availability by a factor of 10.
