ESSENTIAL HABITECH
THE MAGIC OF LIGHT
...we’ll help you to benefit from the boundless design potential of HomeWorks Wireless
Promising greater mastery over light and shade for the largest residential projects, Lutron’s HomeWorks Wireless will empower your design versatility says Habitech’s Jorge Pereira. Plug in the smart speaker, download the app, instant smart home, right? Wrong! obviously, but try telling that to the people who map this stuff. According to Statista, 7 in every 10 UK homes will be ‘smart’ by 2025, and although this prediction is a travesty of justice for the CEDIA tradition, it’s by no means a disaster. Because whilst the IoT tide may fail to whet your whistle, it does carry the popularity of wire-free control to the higher end of the housing market – and that’s definitely worth developing.
THE EVOLUTION OF RELIABLE WIRELESS It’s here where hybrid automation systems combining the traditional reliability of wired connections, with the convenience of smart wireless control are finding traction. Here, on CI’s traditional turf, post-COVID social gravity is sucking in bigger bucks to reconfigure the home as the centre of work and play, supporting a greener social conscience and easier control accessibility for the older, property-owning population. Here, amid predictions of a boom for automated lighting atmospherics within executive properties (40% v 5% overall), all roads lead to one brand. More than ever, Lutron, and its HomeWorks Wireless system, are ticking every box.

ILLUMINATING TIMES
I’m new to Habitech, but not to lighting control. For the last 15 years I’ve been immersed in lighting design and development from planning to commissioning, as both senior engineer and product manager, having oversight of all aspects of quality control involving a range of lighting systems, including Lutron. I’ve had the chance to integrate peerlessly innovative and reliable engineering for the most prestigious clients, including Amazon, Facebook, Four Seasons Hotels, British Airways, the All-England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, and the Southbank Centre. I’ve managed the smallest projects and the largest, always with the principal goals of absolute customer satisfaction and winning repeat business. So it’s a joy to be working once again with Lutron and a Habitech team that shares my belief in product quality and support.
HOMEWORKS, WIRE-FREE
As Habitech’s new lighting specialist I’ll be leading the training and backup for the HomeWorks Wireless platform, which offers the ability to deploy over six decades of proven design sophistication, while retaining the convenience of RF installation and smart App-based control. Enshrining a trinity of virtues straight from the CEDIA bible, HomeWorks Wireless unites high performance and reliability with easy accessibility. Above all, its mature and highly productive technologies promote time efficiency while boosting rewards. In other words, HomeWorks Wireless is tailor-made for CI businesses like yours.
UP TO 600 WIRELESS DEVICES ON A SINGLE NETWORK
Akin in principle to Lutron’s entry-level RA2 Select system, HomeWorks Wireless uses a system of main processor and RF repeaters, which deploy the company’s bulletproof ‘Clear Connect’ RF technology to extend the operational range of wireless dimmers, keypads, shades and sensors. Like RA2 Select, it uses a ‘Connect Bridge’, which is wired via ethernet to the home’s network, enabling the App control of lighting, window treatments and designed ‘scene’ combinations of artificial and natural light. However, unlike its entry-level progeny, which has a capacity of 100 devices, HomeWorks Wireless offers integrators the full creative endowment of up to 600 wireless devices on a single system. The ‘RF seeTouch’ keypad joins famliar ‘Scene’ and ‘Remote’ Picos (right) in a plethora of in-room control options
