President’s Report

At last month’s General Meeting there was careful consideration over the proposed new Club constitution. It was refreshing to see open debate which resulted in consensus on all points. The Committee will now update the proposed constitution with the agreed amendments. If agreement is reached at the next General Meeting the document will be posted out to all Members for consideration before a final vote is held. Judging by recent feedback it would appear that the electronic version of “Baby Torque” is not so popular. We will revert to sending the magazine by post however if you are happy to continue with an electronic copy please let us know. This year’s President’s Run has now been tentatively booked for the weekend of 16th – 17th October with the destination being the Southern Highlands. More details will follow shortly when we can confirm numbers. The next two runs will be King’s School All British day and Shannons Eastern Creek Classic. It’s great to see that we have record numbers booked for both events. Happy Motoring, Mark Wellington Please note: Any Member using a vehicle that is on Conditional Registration (HCRS) and is attending a Secondary Club Run, or any event listed under Invitations Accepted or Other Events of Interest, MUST contact a Committee Member to advise your vehicle movements prior to attending the event. The committee of the nominated primary club on your conditional registration must be aware, and approve of, all movements of your vehicle. If you wish to attend invitational events outside Club runs, you must contact a committee Member to log the trip, otherwise your registration and insurance is not valid. At all times your Austin 7 should carry a copy of the Club’s Certificate of Insurance (Public Liability) and the most recent copy of “Baby Torque”.
Event Director’s Report The weather was fantastic for the Club progressive Christmas in July run. The breakfast was great. The kids were well behaved and enjoyed their breakfast as they chattered together. We visited the Camellia Gardens and the flowers at this time of the year are magic. We ate our classic roast chicken dinner then had a guided tour of Carss Cottage at Carss Park. Afterwards we walked round the beautiful park and took in the views of the bay. Attending the breakfast were: Joanne, Graeme, Euan and Angus Gullick, Sandra, Paul, Jessica, Katie and Jackie Boatwright, Faye and Robert Yarroll, Amy and Paul Pui, Warren Gracie, Ken Rolley, Mark Wellington, Maureen and Mervyn Boatwright and Jean and Lal Etherington. I have made the accommodation booking for the Austin 7 National Rally SA in 2012. Seventeen rooms were tentatively booked and only two are left. Those who have made their booking through me, could you please forward a $50.00 deposit for each room to secure your booking. Your cheque should be made out to the Austin 7 Club NSW Inc and posted to the Club PO box. If you require more details, please do not hesitate to contact me. There will be entry forms for the Rally and also the planned itinerary for all days of the Rally available at the August General Meeting. Those interested in attending the Historic Sports and Racing Car Association of NSW Inc. special event at Wakefield on 17th – 19th September will be able to obtain Entry Forms at the August Meeting. See you at Eastern Creek and The All British Day at the Kings School in August. Happy Austin 7 touring, Maureen Boatwright
