1st – 5th October 2012 90th Anniversary National Austin 7 Hub Rally - Tanunda, S.A. The Austin 7 Club of SA has forwarded further information on the 2012 Rally and I have listed some of the details for you below. As previously advised the dates were selected to coincide with the renowned Bay to Birdwood event (which will be held on Sunday 30th September 2012) so that the rally entrants can participate in the Bay to Birdwood with the other 1700 vehicles. The program for the week leading up to the Bay to Birdwood will not be available until early 2012. The Rally accommodation will be available in Tanunda and details of these venues will be issued with the Entry Forms which are expected to be mailed out in October 2011. Trailer parking will be available for all entrants at one of these venues regardless of whether the owner stays at that venue or not. The Headquarters for the National Rally will be at the Tanunda Show Grounds Hall which is in a very nice setting and has plenty of parking available. Registration will be held on the Monday (day 1) at the Headquarters. After registering, entrants will then be escorted in small groups on an orientation tour around the 3 main towns of the Barossa Valley. A welcome dinner will be held that night. Day 2 – 55 miles (110 miles round trip) drive to Mannum on the River Murray. After a cruise on the Murray we will return to Tanunda in time for an optional Noggin & Natter at one of the accommodation venues. Day 3 – Starts with a Boot Sale, followed by a Street Parade then a run around the Valley. That evening plans are for a film night. Day 4 – There will be 2 runs. One will only go as far as Kapunda, an old mining town, whilst the other carries on further to Clare, a nice regional town set in the Gilbert Valley (another great wine region). The first option is about 50 miles round trip, whereas the other is about another 90 miles further (149 Miles). That night there will be another optional Noggin & Natter. Day 5 – We head off to Roseworthy Agricultural College & Machinery Museum which is a round trip of about 40 miles. That evening we will have a Farewell Dinner. Entrant forms will be available in late 2011 when a list of accommodation venues will also be posted. Entrants will need to make their own accommodation bookings of which there will be ample to choose from.

President’s Report
5
I trust all have had a wonderful Christmas and have enjoyed a healthy start to a new and prosperous year. 2010 promises to be a good year for the Austin 7 Club, kicking off with the BBQ prior to our opening meeting on January 12th. The following Saturday we take off on our first run for the year to Scarborough for breakfast. Last year a similar run proved very popular and I believe this year we will have even more bookings, and why not, once we escape the metropolitan area it’s a great scenic down hill run crossing the Ocean Bridge to enjoy a sumptuous breakfast overlooking the ocean. Later in the month we will have two more babies making their debut on Australia Day. One, a ’29 tourer has been carefully restored over the last 18 months and the other, a ’32 saloon is currently on the ocean on it’s way from New Zealand. We all look forward to welcoming them on our regular runs. One other important point to note is that membership renewal is now due. Please be aware that conditional registration rules require you to be a financial Member of a registered car club and that it is imperative that you renew your membership to maintain the validity of your car’s registration. Happy Motoring, Mark Wellington
Please note: Any Member using a vehicle that is on Conditional Registration (HCRS) and is attending a Secondary Club Run, or any event listed under Invitations Accepted or Other Events of Interest, MUST contact a Committee Member to advise your vehicle movements prior to attending the event. The committee of the nominated primary club on your conditional registration must be aware, and approve of, all movements of your vehicle. If you wish to attend invitational events outside Club runs, you must contact a committee Member to log the trip, otherwise your registration and insurance is not valid. At all times your Austin 7 should carry a copy of the Club’s Certificate of Insurance (Public Liability) and the most recent copy of “Baby Torque”.
Event Director’s Report The last event for 2009 was the Boat Cruise on the Georges River. It was a pleasant afternoon with time spent chatting, enjoying finger food and pointing out landmarks, especially to those who were not familiar with the beautiful Georges River. As usual, when you are having a good time the outing always comes to an end far too soon. A few of us continued the evening by visiting the Motor Boat Club. The first event of 2010 will see our Babies travelling to Scarborough Hotel by the sea for breakfast. There will be many places during the run to take great photos of our cars. Most of our Members enjoy weekends away so I am thinking of arranging at least two weekend runs during 2010. The first will be held in the Goulburn/Crookwell areas where we will see many interesting historic buildings and active workshops, this will be in April. Please contact me if this idea appeals to you as I need Expressions of Interest and you may also have suggestions for other weekends away. I look forward to speaking with you and hearing of your suggestions for outings. Happy New Year to all and hope to see you on the Club’s first run for 2010. See you on the Scarborough Run. Happy Austin 7 touring, Maureen Boatwright

Happy Birthday to all the Members who celebrate birthdays in January. Point Score Trophy Don’t forget the Austin 7 Club “Point Score” program. Our aim is to see as many people attending events and meetings (this includes monthly general meetings) as possible. Participation in an event or outing, begining from the starting point and going through to the finish, will score you 2 points while attendance at a general meeting will score you 1 point. These points are awarded if you show up in your Austin 7 or your modern and the person with the highest points tally will receive a trophy at our Christmas Luncheon/Presentation Day. So get involved, support your Club and have some fun. See the Coming Events section on page 2 for our next event.
