President’s Report This year seems to have slipped by quickly with only another month until our AGM. I hope to see a solid turn out this year for a vote, not only for office bearers for 2011 but also for a new look constitution. Please be aware that all positions will become vacant and nominations must be received by the Secretary two weeks prior to 14th December. Thank you to all who participated in the President’s Run last month. The allure of an opportunity to drive an Austin 7 along country roads is so strong that the one time weekend away now commonly stretches out to three days and it seems that there is appetite for even more. My idea that the main attraction was the peaceful drive through quiet country towns, passing sun drenched fields was certainly blown away this year. The true might of our little Seven’s came through, battling rain, sleet, snow and an icy wind that always seemed to be head-on while climbing the steep hills. The true test however was the tenacity of the occupants which can be summed up by a quote from intrepid Member Cliff Stockley, whilst driving his open Meteor, “I don’t mind the snow so much, but I don’t like it when it melts in my lap”. Everyone still claimed that they had a wonderful time. Well done Austineers! Happy Motoring, Mark Wellington Please note: Any Member using a vehicle that is on Conditional Registration (HCRS) and is attending a Secondary Club Run, or any event listed under Invitations Accepted or Other Events of Interest, MUST contact a Committee Member to advise your vehicle movements prior to attending the event. The committee of the nominated primary club on your conditional registration must be aware, and approve of, all movements of your vehicle. If you wish to attend invitational events outside Club runs, you must contact a committee Member to log the trip, otherwise your registration and insurance is not valid. At all times your Austin 7 should carry a copy of the Club’s Certificate of Insurance (Public Liability) and the most recent copy of “Baby Torque”.

Event Director’s Report In October there were nine Austin 7’s and two moderns travelling through the Southern Highlands taking part in the President’s Weekend over three days. We experienced sun, wind, rain and sleet. Guess what? We all had a fabulous time, great things to see, good food and Members enjoying themselves wherever they ventured. When are we going away again? Special thank you to Mark and Joanne Wellington for organising this great weekend and to Robert and Faye Yarroll for producing a great DVD and giving everyone a copy of our adventures experienced over the President’s Weekend. On Sunday 31st October our President held the “Second Chance Run” to the Scarborough Hotel for breakfast. There were four Austin 7’s and two moderns taking part. As usual a wonderful morning was spent travelling down the scenic drive along the ocean. I booked the accommodation in July for seventeen rooms at the Tanunda Motor Lodge for The Austin 7 National Rally - SA in 2012. Our Club booking has a few rooms left at this time and I suggest you contact the Events Director now if you are thinking of joining us as other Austin 7 Clubs are looking for accommodation. I intend notifying the motor lodge at the beginning of November this year and cancel any extra rooms our Club has left at that time. Those who have made their booking through me, could you please forward a $50 deposit for each room to secure your booking. Your cheque should be made out to the Austin 7 Club NSW Inc and posted to the Club PO Box. If you require more details, please do not hesitate to contact me. There will be entry forms for the Rally and also the planned itinerary for all days of the Rally and Expressions of Interest available at the November General Meeting for those who don’t have computer access. Austin 7 Club S.A. has asked for Expressions of Interest to be sent back a.s.a.p. The next run is our first ladies day and we are expecting a big turn out of Austin 7’s and many ladies whom I am sure will have a lovely day and be well looked after by the gentlemen. See you at the Ladies Day Run. Happy Austin 7 touring, Maureen Boatwright
Happy Birthday to all the Members who celebrate birthdays in November.

Point Score Trophy Don’t forget the Austin 7 Club “Point Score” program. Our aim is to see as many people attending events and meetings (this includes monthly general meetings) as possible. Participation in an event or outing, begining from the starting point and going through to the finish, will score you 2 points while attendance at a general meeting will score you 1 point. These points are awarded if you show up in your Austin 7 or your modern and the person with the highest points tally will receive a trophy at our Christmas Luncheon/Presentation Day. So get involved, support your Club and have some fun. See the Coming Events section on page 2 for our next event.
