Calling at two places of interest (expect to be pleasantly surprised) and dining at a German Country Club in Luddenham. The aim is to make this a great day for the ladies. Please contact the Events Director by 31st October with numbers attending so reservations can be made. 5th December Christmas Luncheon / Presentation Day This year the celebrations will be held at Petersham Bowling Club, 77 Brighton Street, Petersham at 12:00 pm. Arrangements have been made for us to enjoy some barefoot bowling and buffet lunch. Cost will be $7.50 for bowling and $18.00 per person for food. As the second oldest lawn bowls club in Australia, Petersham Bowling Club is happy to host our Austin 7’s so why not drive your Baby on the day. 1st – 5th October 2012 90th Anniversary National Austin 7 Hub Rally - Tanunda, S.A. The Headquarters for the National Rally will be at the Tanunda Show Grounds Hall which is in a very nice setting and has plenty of parking available. Prior to preparing and issuing entry forms the Austin 7 Club SA need to get an indication on how many people are likely to enter the 2012 National A7 Rally. Consequently they need your help by completing and returning an Expression of Interest Form as soon as possible. Also, please give a form to anyone else you know who may be interested in attending this rally. Forms may be obtained by: • logging onto the 2012 Rally page on the Austin 7 Club SA website at www.austin7clubsa.com.au, • asking your Events Director for a hard copy, • asking Ralph Drage (2012 Rally Secretary) to send a hard copy.

President’s Report Thank you to all Members for your consideration over the draft constitution. We have received a number of submissions for consideration which demonstrates a healthy interest in the Club’s future. We need to be conscious that we are one of the few remaining single marque vintage car clubs in NSW and our future is reliant on new Members, new restorations and continued involvement in Club activities. Speaking of which, we have had two new (new to the Club) vehicles presented for awards at our Club Annual Day at Centennial Park in September. The Yarroll’s saloon and the Pui’s tourer are now regular attendees at Club events and both worthy competitors. The AGM is now only two months away and all committee positions will be open for re-election. I would encourage all of you to consider standing for election and making a difference to our Club’s future. I look forward to seeing you at the President’s Weekend in the Southern Highlands Happy Motoring, Mark Wellington
Please note: Any Member using a vehicle that is on Conditional Registration (HCRS) and is attending a Secondary Club Run, or any event listed under Invitations Accepted or Other Events of Interest, MUST contact a Committee Member to advise your vehicle movements prior to attending the event. The committee of the nominated primary club on your conditional registration must be aware, and approve of, all movements of your vehicle. If you wish to attend invitational events outside Club runs, you must contact a committee Member to log the trip, otherwise your registration and insurance is not valid. At all times your Austin 7 should carry a copy of the Club’s Certificate of Insurance (Public Liability) and the most recent copy of “Baby Torque”.

Event Director’s Report A lovely relaxing day at the Club’s annual display at Centennial Park saw Paul and Amy Pui and Robert and Faye Yarroll proudly displaying the “Peoples Choice” Shield they had been awarded for the best cars on display. There was a beautiful array of teddy bears shown, a teddy bear garden was displayed, and two little girls showed their special dolls. Both received chocolate smarties for displaying the dolls. Congratulations to you all. I booked the accommodation in July for seventeen rooms at the Barossa Motor Lodge for The Austin 7 National Rally - SA in 2012. Our Club booking has a few rooms left at this time and I suggest you contact the Events Director now if you are thinking of joining us, as other Austin 7 Clubs are looking for accommodation. I intend notifying the motor lodge at the beginning of November this year and cancel any extra rooms our Club has left at that time. Those who have made their booking through me, could you please forward a $50.00 deposit for each room to secure your booking. Your cheque should be made out to the Austin 7 Club NSW Inc and posted to the Club PO Box. If you require more details please do not hesitate to contact me. There will be entry forms for the Rally, planned itinerary for all days of the Rally and Expressions of Interest available at the October General Meeting for those who don’t have computer access. Austin 7 Club S.A. has asked for Expressions of Interest to be sent back ASAP. At long last we have been able to purchase more etched glasses for winners of our monthly runs. The first two of these glasses were awarded to Amy Pui and Faye Yarroll at the September General Meeting for the Christmas in July Run. See you at the President’s Weekend in the Southern Highlands. Happy Austin 7 touring, Maureen Boatwright
Happy Birthday to all the Members who celebrate birthdays in October.

GENERAL BUSINESS 1. Kevin Harte in his Austin 7 was the pinup boy in the Hills Shire Times. This is good publicity for Austin 7. Worth a look at Web site details, go to: www.digitaledition.hillsshiretimes.com.au 2. Warren Gracie reported that he will try to organise a talk by a fuel supplier in the coming month. 3. Warren Gracie will also try to organise a speaker from Lumley Insurance in the coming months. 4. There were discussions of the need of child restraints in vintage cars. Warren Gracie will look into this and report at the next meeting. 5. There were discussions of adding more prescriptive rules of driving our Austin Seven in the constitution and it has been agreed that this is not necessary and can be counter-productive as these issues are governed by RTA and are subject to change from time to time. The constitution as proposed also include the larger Austin Seven without further amendment. 6. The wine glass award from Christmas in July went to Amy Pui and Faye Yarroll. 7. Paul Pui showed photos of 2010 Austin 7 Centennial Display. The 2010 Car Of The Year Shield is awarded equally to both the cars belonging to Yarroll and Pui. 8. Paul Pui showed the DVD 2008 Bay to Birdwood. Meeting closed at 9:20 pm.
Point Score Trophy Don’t forget the Austin 7 Club “Point Score” program. Our aim is to see as many people attending events and meetings (this includes monthly general meetings) as possible. Participation in an event or outing, begining from the starting point and going through to the finish, will score you 2 points while attendance at a general meeting will score you 1 point. These points are awarded if you show up in your Austin 7 or your modern and the person with the highest points tally will receive a trophy at our Christmas Luncheon/Presentation Day. So get involved, support your Club and have some fun. See the Coming Events section on page 2 for our next event.
