Key Club aims to cooperate with school principals and teachers to provide high school students with invaluable experience in living and working together and to prepare them for useful citizenship. Our members develop initiative and leadership skills by serving their schools and communities. In doing so, we hope to promote and accept the following ideals: - To give primacy to the human and spiritual, rather than to the material values of life. - To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.

Caring Leadership clusiveness ter Building - To promote the adoption and application of higher standards in scholarship, sportsmanship and social contacts. - To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive and serviceable citizenship.

- To provide a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render unsel ish service and to build better communities. - To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which makes possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism and good will. "I pledge, on my honor, to uphold the Objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school and community; to serve my nation and God; and combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.

President

Officer M

Hello everyone, my name is Salma Ayub, and I am the 2019-2020 Key Club President for Austin High School. I plan on expanding our newly founded club at Austin, with the help of the wonderful board members I will be working alongside with this year: Noor, Britney, Sarah, and Nayan. This year will be our school's second year of Key Club, and together, Austin's Key Club will lourish into a large family, consisting of dedicated and passionate members. This month, key club o icers from Austin High School attended their irst DCM, Divisional Council meeting in town center. We met with the division's lieutenant governor, Myngoc Nguyen. We participated in ice breakers to get to know other o icers from other schools (Dulles, HSI SL) and bonded through fun games. Afterwards, we went over an agenda that goes over Key Club's goals and intended activities. Key club is national organization, and thanks to the help of Steve Peters, our division's Kiwanis sponsor, this year will be ill with eventful activities and fundraisers.

Yours in Service, Salma Ayub 3

Editor

Heyyy Key Club, July came by really uick and that means school is almost back. With school coming soon, I really want to encourage students to join Key Club and gain more members. As editor, I will promote Key Club through posters and social media for students interested in joining Key Club. I hope the best for Key Club's second year to be illed with events and memories! Let's start off the year great! Now, I only started making newsletters with little knowledge, but I de initely improved my skills based on learning off of other schools newsletters and helpful information. With practice, making newsletters is becoming easier with the knowledge I know to create one. As the year comes by, I hope you enjoy my newsletters! I'm also the person that edits on our Austin Key Club website, but that is still a work in a progress as the year comes. I have added a page for each year's newsletters, photo gallery, and club o icers. I can't wait to see how the website will turn out once we get the year started!

Yours in Service, Britney Nguyen 4
