Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. High school student members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, collecting clothing and organizing food drives. They also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district and international levels.
KEY CLUB 3
I pledge, on my honor, to uphold the Objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school and community; to serve my nation and world; and combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.
Key Club aims to cooperate with school principals and teachers to provide high school students with invaluable experience in living and working together and to prepare them for useful citizenship. Our members develop initiative and leadership skills by serving their schools and communities. In doing so, we hope to promote and accept the following ideals:
To give primacy to the human and spiritual, rather than to the material values of life. To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships. To promote the adoption and application of higher standards in scholarship, sportsmanship and social contacts. To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive and serviceable citizenship. To provide a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render unselfish service and to build better communities. To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which makes possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism and good will.

OFFICER M It has finally arrived. The school year is coming to an end, which means that this will be my last year of Key Club for me and my
t n e dis er P
fellow seniors. I am extremely proud of how much Key Club has developed as a family over the last few months. I've seen members take the opportunity to make change in a number of service projects, ranging from supplying school supplies to those in need to raising awareness about racial inequality. I hope that as a member, you will apply what you have learned from Key Club in other areas of your life.I am genuinely surprised that, even with the pandemic, we have had such a large influence on our community. While I may not have the satisfaction of watching all of the juniors and underclassmen fill up the next years of Key Club, I want you to know that being a member of this club and making a difference is something you will never forget. Finally, for my seniors. I hope these memories remain with you and that you can now take out the initiative to make a difference out in the real world. And remember to never forget us!

AA RR TT II CC LL EE SS A New Perspective
.As many people know freshman year is the year to figure out who you are as a student. At the beginning of the year I was looking for a group or club that would line up with my moral compass and principals and I was also looking for a place to expand them and push myself to be an all around scholar early on in my high school years. At the start of this journey I was offered many clubs and extracurriculars which was a very overwhelming process from the eyes of someone who wants to do everything they can to be somebody and leave a legacy. One club/ organization that caught my eye was Key Club. As the officers went through the mission statements I was intrigued by the aspects they included like leadership and community service because it is important to me to give back to the community that gave to you. On that day I made my decision to sign up for Key Club. Not knowing anything about this club I took a personal risk and assumed that it would be a quick way to learn things and meet new people. As the weeks and months went by I came to the conclusion that the assumption I had made was not the overall reality. I found myself really having to first balance the weight of this club whilst still navigating high school. This put my time management skills to the test and made my priorities and daily life change. I then had to do many things that would impact my community in ways I never thought I could help. These ways include doing a period drive, posting for breast cancer awareness, and many other small things that make big impacts. Towards the end of my time as a freshman my view on this club has changed drastically. I not only see Key Club as a way to make friends and learn new things ,but as an organization and a family of people willing to do what we can to community better and determined to keep a legacy going each year moving forward. - Raya Johnson

March Article
It is important to serve in your community because it helps you build a better life for yourself and others. Serving in community helps you develop the skills needed to be successful in your career, business, or personal life, and also helps you become more confident and productive. Helping your community doesn’t always have to be big like holding a donation or host a book drive. There are many ways helping your community and some are: reaching out to a neighbor, babysitting, and mentor someone for free. I believe serving in your community has many benefits. First, volunteering can your social and relationship skills, which can be very helpful in the future. Second, serving in the community is good for your mental and physical health since it gives you the satisfaction of helping others and helps you stay physically healthy. Finally, contributing to your community can advance your career by giving you the experience in a new field, you will be able to learn the meaning of having an actual responsibility. You can start serving your community by simply baking or cooking for your neighbors or mow someone’s lawn. I started serving my community by joining Key Club and that has helped me get a great start of doing volunteer work, which made me a better person. Another way I volunteer in my community is walk my neighbor’s dog or help them clean their garage/ storage room. Overall, I think serving your community would teach a person valuable life skill and at the end of the day, it bring you fulfillment to your life. Volunteering also provides you with renewed creativity, motivation, and vision that can carry over into your personal and professional life. Remember that there is never something big or small when your are volunteering, whatever you are doing is helping someone or having an impact in someone’s life counts as serving your community. - Madeeha Siddeeque
