T
he playing field is set and the players are all standing by. The preparation for the race is on and each time with more participants joining in having been disgruntled by other existing political parties, they walk out and form their own, some initially with a big oomph but latter losing steam and settling for just a few seats. Each time a breakaway happens, it eats away from the major cakes and one just wonders where this trend is really leading us to. This is a time when political leaders bite their nails not really sure what complexion the final out come will have. New Smaller parties are filled with hope and enthusiasm that the future is bright for them basing their calculations on the size of the total cake to share from as well as the stories in the media that promise them the 5th Dimension. Such a period is both filled with hope and volatile all at the same time. It is filled with hope as people all prepare to go to the polls to vote for their choice of candidates and it is volatile because there is a lot of unproven promises that come with any elections and neighbours and friends may start to see things differently and start to drift apart. Tense a period as it may be, this is a period in which we all need to remember that according to creation all human beings, in one way or another, are linked to each other - Gen 1:27. While we may see things differently as opposing parties, we must remember that when you hurt another person, you also hurt yourself! This is why they say what goes around comes around. Also, if you do good to one individual, whether you
know them or not, you are actually doing good to yourself. Politics need not divide us as a community or as a nation. No one is born evil. No one is evil. What is evil is what the person does and because it is not part of creation, it is an error. An error that has been fed into the individual's mind for so long that to them, they see nothing wrong unless they are exposed to another level of Consciousness. Elections do not mean fighting, or killing each other. Elections are a democratic process that allows all citizens to exercise their constitutional right to choose leaders of their choice and in an ideal situation, in a peaceful manner. Some will go to the polls with a grudge that their lives are not well to do and they will blame it on Government. will wake up every day for the 5 year period and do nothing except lazy around and politic every opportunity they get while they expect manna from an incumbent Government. If they do not get freebies, they speak of delivery and lack thereof. While freebies like those that already exist, come at a price, it is the duty of every citizen to pay for all services consumed and to also pay tax so that any incumbent government can have resources to maintain and improve the lives of all its citizens. Local Municipalities operate as businesses. They provide services and they receive payment for the services, some of which do not belong to them, like electricity where they have to pay ‘Eish!kom’. So, they will expect those that consume these services to pay for them so that
they can improve going forward. They also need to pay their staff, overheads and other experiences that keep their doors open, but some people vote blindly without understanding these basics. Poverty is also an error in society. No one is sentenced to Poverty. Poverty, while it is an error, it is also a disease. With the right frame of mind, it can be cured with the correct interaction with the Creator, before you interact with other human beings or government for support. In the words of Gandhi, “You must be the change that you want to see in the world.” If as an individual, you are not prepared to change, according to the Law of Attraction, do not expect any other person to change for the better towards you! Simple. You cannot be poor when the one who created you also created everything on this earth including money. There is something you are not doing right. Zinuke amakhwapha. As you prepare to go to the ballot box in a few months, remember that Elections are a process, not an event. That process lasts five years and now it is fast drawing to wards an end. Check yourself, make the necessary changes in you and view that community around you with a sober mind, not a mob infected emotional mind that is bent on destroying those things that are supposed to make your community a better place to live in. It is your duty to look after them and preserve them so that Government can build going forward.

While some have proper houses and rain is of no consequence to them many have shacks that do not even have concrete to secure them and water just gushes in wetting everything inside.

July Papadi 36, one of the victims, spoke to Khanyisa Newspaper about his ordeal and said, “Water came in here and damaged all my equipment. Since morning till noon, I was taking it out with a bucket� Papadi wished if someone could help redeem them out of this situation.
Residents here say they have been waiting patiently for water and electricity and other services to be brought to them but for over five years now, they have listened to many varying stories but nothing has come their way.
Another neighbour had water up to his bed level and the whole yard was immersed in water. The cause of all this, regardless of the heavy storm is a dam that is situated right in the middle of the settlement area and when it rains, it fills up and water extends to some houses while its outlet damages all the houses on its path. Because there is no proper river that serves as an outlet from the dam or any form of drainage in place, water from the dam flows on make shift roads losing direction on its way down to go into yards and houses. The sad part is that there are old people here who live on their own after having been dumped by their

During a farm dwellers commission held in Ermelo recently, when the Mabuza Farm issue was raised, Commissioner Nkambule dismissed it as a squarter camp and that as far as the province knew, the place had been handed over to Msukaligwa Municipality and that electricity and water was already there. When the committee presenting the issue headed by Pastor Dlamini denied this, the commissioners said that they would take up the matter with the Municipality. Khanyisa Newspaper is also following up on the issue and a said MOU that was signed in July 2013 after the then MEC for Human Settlements visited the farm. More updates in the coming weeks.

pumalanga premier David Mabuza delegated the Commission of Enquiry to undertake a visit to Gert Sibande District’s Local Municipalities to monitor and listen to challenges faced by farm dwellers. The Commission of Enquiry to the Farm dwellers visited the Farm dwellers from Msukaligwa Local Municipality on the Twenty Fifth of January 2016. The visit follows the appeal by the farm dwellers who ask government to intervene in addressing service delivery and challenges facing their residences. The commission of Enquiry that was appointed by the Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza, is in process of investigating the living conditions of Farm Dwellers in the Mpumalanga Province. This commission was appointed under section 2 (1) of the Mpumalanga Commissions of Enquiry Act of 1998 Act No. 11 of 1998. Currently the commission of Enquiry is conducting public hearings and farm visits in different regions of the Province. Khanyisa News Team gathered the following information, during the hearings at Msukaligwa Municipality in Ermelo Town Hall in January. Most of the Farm Dwellers have settled and have sentimental issues. They need basic needs like every other living human being. The commission will compile a report that will indicate in each instance, the level scope and intent of recommended intervention by Government helping the Mpumalanga Government to take the matter forward. Claim for Infrastructure and Security Mr. Joseph Mahlangu from Boomplaas situated 12km from Breyten under Msukaligwa Municipality. Mr. Mahlangu says his forefathers arrived there in 1870, they belong to the chieftaincy of the Mahlangu Clan, they have total of 6 households and they run an initiation School. They lodged a claim in 1998 and 2001 till now there is no response. They have a reference no 12271 for their claim. They approached the commission asking for their help for security to get services to improve their life such as Electricity, Water pumps, Toilets, RDP Houses. We need a Title deed for our Farm and Security Mr. Somandla resides at Morgenzone Farm halfway to Bethal. The farm was previously owned by Mr. Kruisie De Jager who went to stay in Pretoria. Mr. Somandla says that Mr. De Jager brought white farmers to rent from the farm without their concern and that these white farmers have chased them from the farm saying that they don’t have a title-deed for the land. Somandla says that they went to the Department of Land Affairs in Nelspruit and they referred them to Mr. Mahlalela from Msukaligwa Municipality in Ermelo who was processing the claim. What is surprising is that the claim court was already closed in 2006, the claim court closed in 1998. Mr. Mahlalela fooled his own African brothers and sisters who believe in him as a part of government. He asked the commission to help him to have access to the title deed for their farm, they applied for the title deed in 2006 till now they never got any response. Mrs. Mahlangu was too emotional to talk and her grandson Mr. Senzo Sibeko represented her and said. “In 2010 the government gave us the land and handed us the
rightful papers and we signed a contract with the government that we must stay with this white farmer who is now mistreating us badly.” The Mahlangu family took the matter to court and they won the case, now the whiter farmer is chasing them away and claim the property as his. Government To Hold Consultations On Small Business Act The Department of Small Business Development will next week hold a nationwide stakeholder consultation process on certain legislation. The consultation process seeks to solicit inputs from the department’s stakeholders on the review of the National Small Business Act, read with the National Small Business Amendment Act, well as engage stakeholders on the proposed national minimum wage. The consultations are scheduled to take place from 25 January to 5 February 2016 covering all the nine provinces.

Dinosaurs In Nelspruit

elspruit is in for a treat: the popular Dinos Alive exhibition is bringing its dinosaurs to the Riverside Mall from 27 February until 3 April 2016. With 25 dinosaurs on show, Dinos Alive is the country’s finest dinosaur expo and offers great educational fun for the entire family. Each model dinosaur is built using advanced animatronics (allowing it to animate), and is modelled after its real-life counterpart. The likes of the winged Pteranodon, towering Diplodocus and horn-rimmed Stegosaurus are popular attractions on show. In addition, children can enjoy the fossil displays, play around with a mock excavation pit and enjoy a TRex ride. The exhibition has been a real hit with children and their parents. Etienne Schlechter, Director of Expo Africa and organiser of the event, believes children are fascinated by the realistic dinosaurs on show. “The reception has been great. Since our first showing in Cape Town in 2014, children have loved every minute of the show. It’s very rewarding to see, and we take pride in the fact that our exhibition is a
great learning tool for young students.” The Nelspruit exhibition will feature five information boards that explain the three historic ages of the dinosaur: Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous, as well as a look at life before and after these lizards roamed earth. Tickets for the exhibition will soon be on sale from computicket.com. Schlechter believes that adults will get a lot of joy out of the show too. “The exhibition has plenty of familiar faces, like T.Rex and Trieceratops. But you might be able to spot some more obscure names, like the Spinosaurus and Ankylosaurus.” No visitor can miss the life-sized T-Rex, the only one in South Africa. Created to size, the model accurately recreates the famous lizard’s proportions. “T-Rex is a legend of cinema, and it only felt right to recreate a legend in all its glory.” DinosAlive will be open seven days a week from 09:00 – 19:00 at the Riverside Mall. he match of the weekend was the top of the table clash in the Thandukukhanya Promotion League stream B between log leaders Total Football United FC against second placed Citizen FC at Kwantombazana Ground. The match entertained the fans who came to enjoy the game in a warm Sunday afternoon with the kind of football that fans like complete with shibobos and goals. The match started at a high pace with Citizen FC absorbing the pressure from the home side and the first chance at goal came as early as the 10th minute when Citizen FC keeper made a great one on one save from a Total Football striker. In the 28th minute Citizen FC conceded a corner which led to the first goal of the match by the home side. Total Football continued to ask questions from the opposition defenders 6 minutes later Total Football United scored the 2nd to make the score 2-
0 at half time. The 2nd half produced the same entertained albeit at a slower pace which was controlled by the home side. The 3rd and final goal of the match came in 5 minutes into the start of the second half and helped Total Football United FC to a 3-0 win and four points clear at the top. Registration opens for the 2016 Danone Nations Cup tournament

rimary schools across the country are invited to become part of the biggest football tournament for kids between 10 and 12 years old in the world by entering the 2016 Danone Nations Cup. Over 1 500 schools register to participate in the tournament each year, all vying for the first prize, which is a trip to participate in the World Finals with 31 other countries. The Mkhondo LFA found that all was in order and the league games are played on a regular bases in one field, a decision taken by all clubs since it is the first time ever to have a league in Amsterdam. It was decided that the following season 2016/17 clubs will play the league on a home and away basis as is normally done. Some clubs however voiced their dissatisfaction on some elected members of the Amsterdam sub LFA alleging that their are biased towards Birds Football Club and needed them out of the executive. Mkhondo LFA Mr Nhlanhla Mkhonza then explained the procedure to remove elected officials which included a petition signed by all clubs calling for a Special General Meeting. The clubs said they will look into the matter of signing a petition. The good news for Amsterdam is the possibility of hosting this season's Mkhondo Promotion League 2015/16 playoffs provided that, "There will be two venues/grounds to be used that are of acceptable standards."
