“Credit Visible”?

Headlines Standerton Hospital Opens Wellness Clinic Credit visible South Africans a huge problem Almost one fifth (19,15%) of adults in South Africa are “credit invisible” – placing them at risk of never qualifying for traditional lines of credit. According to Statistics SA's 2014 mid-year report, there are 27,3-million people over the age of 20 living in South Africa. The Credit Bureau Monitor published by the National Credit Regulator, put the number of credit-active consumers in South Africa at 22,12-million. The term “blacklisting” or “blacklist” refers to an outdated or archaic term that dates back to when credit bureaus only kept negative information. Nowadays, credit bureaus hold both positive and negative data, the combination of which has proved immensely beneficial in predicting the future behaviour of consumers. Credit Bureaus therefore are used as information hubs holding information that relate amongst other things, to account which you may have. This information may be used by credit providers to determine how you maintain your accounts via credit checks. It is through the information derived via your credit checks that it is determined how good or bad your credit health is. transunion.co.za

What did Paul mean when he said he had finished the race?

Sis Lee Email: admin@khanyisamedia.co.za WhatsApp: 084 335 6754

“I have finished the race” is the second clause of three within a passage written by the apostle Paul to Timothy: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7). The apostle wrote these words near the end of his life. These three statements reflect Paul's

struggles in preaching the gospel of Christ and his victory over those struggles. In the 1st century, the Romans celebrated both the Olympic Games and the other Games. Competitors would spend up to ten months in difficult physical training. Because the Corinthians were very familiar with these events, Paul used the games as an comparison for a believer's life of faithfulness. He wrote to the church in Corinth saying, “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who

competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever” (1 Corinthians 9:2425). Paul's advice is that believers should be as focused and dedicated as those ancient runners in the games. Our motivation in serving Christ is much higher; we “run” not for a temporary crown, but for an eternal one. In Paul's letter to Timothy, Paul is not praising himself for having “run the full distance”; rather, he is simply describing what the grace of God had enabled him to do. In

HOW TO SAVE YOUR MONEY

S

aving involves saving money for a specific period, with a goal in mind. We all understand that sacrifices need to be made, and that you need to start saving from an early age. But what exactly does it entail? It is imperative to realise that saving does not just involve getting discounts, but it also means saving your money on a regular basis. Here are a few tips on how to save: BUDGET As overwhelming as the concept may seem, budgeting your monthly expenses is the first and foremost step towards saving. By creating a budget you ensure that your money is being used the way you want it too. You can also plan better and save up for your bigger purchases. And creating a budget is easy: •Collect all your financial statements, which include bills

•Record all your sources of income •Make a list of all your expenses •Total the monthly income and the total expenses •Review your budget – if your expenses are higher than your income, you need to evaluate your budget and decide the area in which you will reduce your expenses •Incorporate a saving section into your budget A budget allows you to keep track of all your expenses, but it is also essential to stick to it, to make progress and reach your saving goals. EXAMINE YOUR SPENDING HABITS Saving is not easy, and a great way to start is to track your spending habits. • Never purchase any items on impulse, think carefully about each purchase • Keep track of what you spend and keep all receipts • Take advantage of discounts, specials and sales. But only purchase what you need HAVE A SAVINGS GOAL Setting up a savings goal is important as it helps you monitor your expenses and avoid any unexpected expenses. It also helps you reach a specific financial target. Here is a simple way to set up a savings goal: •Determine you goal, what you are saving for, and have a clear understanding of your goal

time frame •Review your budget and make the necessary provisions •Choose the correct savings account according to your goal and the time frame. Banks offer various savings accounts therefore it is imperative to decide on the correct account according to your savings goal. There are accounts for short, medium and long term savings, so you need to decide on the one that best suits your needs. You also need to be disciplined. TIPS ON HOW TO SAVE QUICKLY AND ON A MONTHLY BASIS It’s never too late to start saving, all you have to do is make a few small change 1.Pay your bills on time to avoid penalty charges 2.Be frugal with your appliances; turn off all unnecessary appliances and lights 3.Plan your meals ahead of time as well as your grocery shopping 4.Cancel any subscriptions you don’t need 5.Price check all your purchased items 6.Save on petrol costs and car pool where possible 7.Cut back on social and entertainment costs. Implement the above mentioned tips and stay on track and keep your goal in mind all the time. You can also visit your financial institution for more advice and tips on how to save.

the book of Acts, Paul says these powerful words: “I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace” (Acts 20:24). So, by declaring “I have finished the race,” Paul is telling Timothy that he had put every effort into the work of preaching to everybody the gospel of salvation. He had completed the course set before him; he had left nothing undone. He was ready to cross the finish line into heaven. In a race, only one runner wins. However, in the

Christian “race,” everyone who pays the price of vigilant training for the cause of Christ can win. We are not competing against one other, as in athletic games, but against the struggles, physical and spiritual, that stand in the way of our reaching the prize (Philippians 3:14). Every believer runs his own race (1 Corinthians 9:24). Each of us is enabled to be a winner. Paul urges us to “run in such a way as to get the prize,” and to do this we must set aside anything that might hinder us from living and teaching the gospel of Christ.

HIV Breakthrough!

– Spain Finds Cure For HIV! (Confirmed) Doctors in Barcelona, Spain believe they have found the cure to HIV – the AIDScausing virus that affects the lives of more than 34 million people worldwide, according to WHO. By using blood transplants from the umbilical cords of individuals with a genetic resistance to HIV, Spanish medical professionals believe they can treat the virus, having proven the procedure successful with one patient. A 37-year-old man from Barcelona, who had been infected with the HIV virus in 2009, was cured of the condition after receiving a transplant of blood. While unfortunately the man later died from cancer just three years later, having developed lymphoma, the Spanish medical team is still hugely encouraged by what it considers to be a breakthrough in the fight against HIV and related conditions, according to the Spanish news source El Mundo. Doctors in Barcelona initially attempted the technique using the precedent of Timothy Brown, an HIV patient who developed leukemia before receiving experimental treatment in Berlin, the Spanish news site The Local reported. Brown was given bone marrow from a donor who carried the resistance mutation from HIV. After the cancer treatment, the HIV virus had also disappeared. According to The Local, the CCR5 Delta 35 mutation affects a protein in white blood cells and provides an estimated one percent of the human population with high resistance to infection from HIV. Spanish doctors attempted to treat the lymphoma of the so-called “Barcelona patient” with chemotherapy and an autotransplant of the cells, but were unable to find him a suitable bone marrow. “We suggested a transplant of blood from an umbilical cord but from someone who had the mutation because we knew from 'the Berlin patient' that as well as [ending] the cancer, we could also eradicate HIV,”

Human Settlements MEC, Ms Violet Siwela (Nkosi beneficiaries) Mbali, Lungile, Gugu Nkosi and Govan Mbeki Local Municipality Mayor, cllr Lindi Masina. Department and the sponsor was the Nkosi's who are a child-headed household. They described how harsh the realities life has been since the passing of their parents several years ago. 20-

year old Mbali Nkosi who's the eldest to her three siblings said that the family depended solely on the foster grant which was organised by the Social Development Department.

Mbali who has now completed her Grade 12 said that apart from the foster grant, the family is sometimes forced to fend for themselves and seek help from neighbours.

“I have decided to also do temporal jobs so that I can save up money for my registrations to further my studies. I could not be admitted at tertiary because my symbols where not matching the requirements of the course I was willing to do”, she charged. Upon engaging with the family, the Department has undertaken to build a proper house for them since they are still occupying a shack. During her Policy and Budget Vote, MEC Violet Siwela pronounced that the Department is working tirelessly to tackle informal settlements in the province and that of the R1.677 billion budget there will be focus to improve conditions of people living in squalor. “For 67 years, Nelson Mandela devoted his life to the service of humanity as a human rights lawyer, a prisoner of conscience, and an international peacemaker, amongst others. So let us dedicate time and work selflessly to improve the less fortunate”, articulated Siwela.

National Crisis Pregnancy Campaign

D

ialogue must move to care, compassion and awareness, not judgement and shaming The National Adoption Coalition of South Africa (NACSA) has launched 'Choose to Care', an initiative focusing on crisis pregnancy in a bid to raise awareness of the various alternatives for women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. The Choose to Care website and campaign serves as a central repository for women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, their partners, their families and their communities to get information and support via the call centre on 0800 864 658 or the website at www.crisispregnancy.org.za “Statistics show that 30% of South African teenagers have reported 'ever having being pregnant', and most of these pregnancies are unplanned. There are a number of causes including sugar daddies, a highly reported topic in the media, ignorance of birth control, rape, not wanting to use contraceptives, proving one's womanhood, transactional purposes (survival), as well as healthcare workers and nurses refusal to provide birth control solutions to young women due to their traditional views on sexuality,” explains Pam Wilson, spokesperson for NACSA Education is of critical importance in the prevention of teenage pregnancies, and that these young women feel that there is a role for them in their society, over and above motherhood. In NACSA's research it found that current communication about teenage and crisis pregnancy tends to portray young women as faceless, disembodied pregnant bellies in school uniforms with no acknowledgement of who she is and her context. The perspective of the young teenage girl is usually absent. ' Choose to Care' is about moving the communication shift from 'shame and blame' to 'care and compassion', and address all the role players in managing a crisis pregnancy – the young woman in that she is not alone and that she needs to care about her child, the man in terms of taking responsibility for his partner and future child, the community in terms of showing care and compassion for young pregnant women in the community, as well as families to show care and compassion for their daughter by supporting her at this difficult time. “Statistics indicate that although awareness of adoption has increased, adoption numbers are still declining, whilst child abandonment appears to be increasing. A multi-pronged approach is required to ensure that child abandonment is reduced and that women facing a crisis pregnancy have access to credible information as to their options in a crisis pregnancy. This will include lobbying of government and social institutions, community engagement and the development of a focused crisis pregnancy campaign. Our objective is to create more family and community support for young women to in order to prevent child abandonment and illegal abortions through education and empowerment. We need to provide an accessible solution for crisis pregnancy, with information about the alternatives for women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy in order for them to make informed decisions that are right for them,” adds Pam.

SANRAL CEO Visits Mpumalanga University R1Billion Facelift On The Cards For Mpumalanga Roads

T

he University of Mpumalanga is a very new institution in South Africa, with a potential to generate innovative ideas and stand out from the rest of the crowd. These were the words of Mr Nazir Alli, when he delivered his public lecture at the University of Mpumalanga on Wednesday, 22 July 2015, in Nelspruit. The lecture is part of SANRAL’s ongoing campaign to reach out to tertiary institutions, with a view to forming long-term and sustainable relations with them to urgently address the

shortage of critical skills through education and training. Mr Alli said the University of Mpumalanga was in a very privileged and unique position, because it had no history and no tradition. The University should therefore find it easier to do things differently. “You don’t have to do exactly what others have done - true, take the good from them and make it your own. But you may find in this particular province and under your specific circumstances that something different is needed, which will make you an excellent servant of your community and society

at large,” he said. The University of Mpumalanga, together with Sol Plaatjie University, opened last year after a lengthy consultation process for Mpumalanga and Northern Cape provinces to have their own universities. The current focus of the University of Mpumalanga is on teacher training, hospitality and tourism, ICT and agriculture. However, said Mr Alli, SANRAL hoped that in future the University would also offer degrees in engineering, since there is a dire shortage of critical skills in these fields.

He said he was hopeful that the university would be a fully-fledged university. The university will from the next academic year, 2016, offer six additional programmes, subject to approval by the Department of Higher Education and Training. He said, “Should your plans to become a fully-fledged university of technology including the engineering science - become reality, we are looking forward to the day when we can employ your graduates within our organisation. he Mpumalanga Department of Education welcomes the correction made by the Department of Basic Education following reports which falsely suggested that only half of the Mpumalanga Schools offer mathematics. In fact contrary to the said reports all secondary schools in Mpumalanga offer pure mathematics. The Province established a Maths, Science and Technology Academy to increase the intake and performance of learners in Mathematics, to train Mathematics and sciences teachers on an ongoing basis and to resource participating schools. There are 100 schools that are participating in this programme meaning that all learners at these schools will from 2016 take mathematics and sciences as subjects. In her 2015/16 Policy and Budget Speech the MEC for Education, Mrs. Reginah Mhaule said: “The Department is taking a radical approach in increasing the enrolment and performance in Mathematics and Physical Sciences in Grades 10 to 12 in keeping with the National Strategy for Mathematics, Sciences and Technology Education. The Provincial Maths and Science Academy is one of the vehicles to achieve this and no effort will be spared until this is achieved in our life time. The Department has allocated R 20 million to the Maths, Science and Technology Academy to ensure the attainment of this

objective. The Department will work tirelessly to improve the content knowledge, pedagogic and didactic skills of Mathematics, Science and Technology subject teachers and offer direct support to learners in the MST Academy schools. Mpumalanga is one of the provinces that are successfully implementing the 1+4programme to improve learner performance in Grade 8 and 9 Mathematics. I wish to take this opportunity to thank all teachers and schools which have embraced this progressive initiative. We also wish to work with school governing bodies to stimulate the interest of learners to increase enrolment in MST subjects from Grade 10.The Department will procure and install new machinery and equipment consistent with technical subjects that are offered in technical schools, train and upskill teachers at technical schools on identified areas in technical subjects to improve teaching and learning. R39 million has been allocated towards the realisation of this goal. In total, the Department has set aside R59 million to promote Maths, Science and Technology in this financial year." The MEC's pronouncement is thus an indication of the commitment and dedication of the Department to make Mathematics and Sciences the subjects of choice in the province.

Legislature Brings Hope To 72 Year Old Granny As the Mandela Month continues to bring hope for a better future to the neediest, the Speaker of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature Ms Thandi Shongwe has had to roll up her sleeves in an attempt to bring relief to granny Sarah Khulumile Malale and her grandchildren. The 72 years old elderly lost all her belongings including the house she inherited from her late husband. This happened when her grandson set the house alight. The boy who is now in police custody is alleged to have turned violent when he got home and there was no food for him. The 27 year old resolved to burn the house and attempted to kill the granny in the process. Gogo Malale says she is now forced to go and seek refugee from neighbours at night and returns to her house in the morning to try and keep the yard, of her once beautiful house clean.

The house that was set alight

"I don't know what I must do, I don't work, I am old and have been dependent on my pension to support these kids" said Gogo Malale. “On the night of the incident, this boy came home and asked for food; I told him there was nothing cooked as we were out of food. I think this angered him and he started torching the house. He tried to keep me inside my burning house I don't even know as to how I escaped." His grandson, who is not working, was arrested and is still in police custody. Having been informed of this situation, the Speaker Ms Thandi Shongwe took it upon herself to seek donations and sponsors in order to fix the house. "Especially because we are in the Mandela month, I saw it important that I prioritise this matter to help Gogo Malale. It is not acceptable that our kids treat senior citizens in this manner instead of protecting them especially Gogo because she is a woman, and she has dedicated her life to raising these kids." Shongwe has already received commitment from some business people to fix the house, buy furniture and a startup grocery for the family. Speaker Shongwe is expected to lead the entourage on Saturday 25 July 2015 when the house will be renovated. At the same time, the Speaker will on Sunday, the 26th of July 2015 unveil her annual Speaker's Cup. This year it is aimed at bringing unity in the Taxi Industry, hence the soccer tournament will be amongst taxi associations operating in Malelane and Lebombo. The attendance by the media representatives for subsequent coverage on both days will be highly appreciated. Please confirm your attendance with Thulile Nkambule @ 013 766 1218 or 083 656 2762.

Are We Going To Win This Battle? NCOP impressed with Mpumalanga governance model By: Staff Reporter

T

he National Council of Provinces [NCOP] which is on a week-long visit in the province has praised the Mpumalanga provincial government for its governance model that it was the best in the country. Speaking at a meeting with the Mpumalanga executive council yesterday in Mbombela, the leader of the NCOP delegation, Mpumalanga Provincial Whip in the NCOP Simphiwe Mthimunye praised the provincial government for its projects and how it was running them. The six-member NCOP committee, which comprises of four ANC, one DA and one EFF representatives, is in the province to interact with communities regarding service delivery by the provincial government. During the meeting, Mthimunye applauded Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza and his executive council for their vision in running the provincial government.

It is our understanding that public institutions cannot be turned into employment agencies, but we need to be creative to utilize the little resources we have to our advantage,” said the Premier. He added that although the provincial government was working hard in serving the people, the province was still faced with serious challenges in delivering water. He said at least 80 percent of the citizens of Mpumalanga had access to water in the form of communal taps and boreholes, however the Mpumalanga Premier meets with NCOP in Mbombela government was improving the government and their systems The Premier had Mthimunye said access by taking it to the are in the best interest of the briefed the delegation about the people's houses. Asked about the viability of the province's investment company, MEGA, the Premier said the challenge was the perception the people had about it, whereas there were lots of such institutions elsewhere in the world. “In the province we didn't have the people with right leadership abilities for this institution. MEGA can do business; it can raise more revenue for government. With the introduction of the new chief financial officer, there is starting to be a direction within his first few months,” he said. Asked by the member of the DA about the legacy he would leave after his term, the Premier said all he wanted was to change the lives of the people for the better by giving the services they deserve from their government. “I do not know if I will leave a legacy, but I am definitely sure that I will leave a footprint that would say, I once lived. Let us leave politics aside, but where we have done well, it is better that you give us credit so that we will be motivated. Do not stand at my grave and praise me, it is better that I hear it now so that I can learn from it and be encouraged,”said Mabuza.

Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza says the Chinese business people are more interested on investing in the steel industry, and the Steve Tshwete Municipality in Nkangala District is likely to benefit. We are taking the first mile of the thousand miles that we must walk together, and we must walk with discipline and respect. “On behalf of the people of Mpumalanga, I feel very humbled and honoured that they are already here within few weeks after our trip to China; they have listened to the voices of our people who are yearning for jobs and a better life. Although they cannot publicly say anything yet since they are on a fact-finding mission, we must remember that investing is not an easy decision to make.

You must assess the risk before you put your money and invest. Indeed it is their prerogative, to make their own business decision,” said Mabuza. The Premier added that the Mpumalanga Provincial Government would soon be sending a delegation to Hebei province to put into programme and pursue some of the things that are in the memorandum of understanding once the Chinese have concluded their mission in Mpumalanga. The memorandum of understanding with the Chinese follows the Premier's pronouncement during the State of the Province Address this year that he would spend more time around the world looking for investment for the province in order to increase the economic status.

SANRAL CEO Visits Mpumalanga University Cont. from Page 05 Similarly we will need the skills of professionals trained in environmental disciplines to draft impact assessments, students from social sciences to mediate with communities and qualified teachers who can help to prepare the next generations and impart knowledge about the value of roads for communities and the importance of road safety”. Mr Alli also used the opportunity to educate delegates about the role of SANRAL as a state-owned roads agency, and how wellconstructed and maintained roads were contributing to the country’s economic development. He also highlighted how SANRAL was supporting the various economic sectors that drove the economy of Mpumalanga, through the construction and maintenance of world-class road infrastructure. These sectors include: agriculture, mining, travel and tourism. “We have a duty to maintain the already existing roads but

also look after the under serviced roads. Without roads there can be no roads or no economic development. Without roads we cannot move the coals that are produced from this province and mineral resources produced will not be able to reach their final destination, the consumer. Without the N4 we will not be able to reach our neighbouring country, Mozambique,” continued Mr Alli. Finally, Mr Alli said SANRAL wanted to establish a meaningful relationship with the new university. He said, “We are inspired by the establishment of the University of Mpumalanga and excited by the energy and can-do spirit that we have encountered here. We are looking forward to work with you in future. I have no doubts that roads of SANRAL and of your University will continue to intersect in the years to come. Mandela Month Projects T

he MEC for the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport in Mpumalanga, Ms Dumisile Nhlengethwa kickstarted departmental Mandela month activities with patching of potholes on Wessel street in Msukaligwa Local Municipality. The Department has chosen to support municipalities with bad road conditions as its key Mandela month contribution. MEC Nhlengethwa, joined by The Executive Mayor of Gert Sibande District Municipality Cllr Michael Nhlabathi and Executive Mayor of Msukaligwa Local Municipality Cllr Sipho Bongwe got their hands dirty for goodwill as they joined staff from the department and Municipality to repair the potholes.

"As for the department, we celebrate Mandela day throughout the 365 days in a year, to provide state of the art roads, hence we are here supporting the municipality with patching the potholes in its streets", said MEC Nhlengethwa. The department has planned a month long activities for Mandela month. On Thursday 16 July MEC Nhlengethwa will join departmental staff as they tile and paint Churchier home for people living with disabilities at Elukwatini in Chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipality. She will further donate food and other items at the centre in Sheepmoor on Saturday 18 July and continue with patching potholes at Delmas in Victor Khanye Local Municipality on the 20th July and complete the patching of potholes at Sibange in Nkomazi Local Municipality on the 23rd July 2015.

Opened this week, the clinic also houses a satellite pharmacy dedicated to dispensing chronic medicationincluding HIV treatment. The pharmacy is expected to help decongest the hospital's existing pharmacy and decrease waiting times. At the clinic's opening, Mpumalanga Health MEC Gillion Mashego urged young people to take advantage of HIV prevention services available like medical male circumcision at the hospital. He also encouraged more youth to pursue nursing as a career. Large-scale studies in South Africa, Kenya and Uganda have shown that medical male circumcision can reduce a man's risks of contracting HIV by about 60 percent. In a province with country's highest rate of road accident deaths, Mashego also noted that curbing alcohol abuse remained one of the

The South African National Roads Agency (SOC) Limited (SANRAL) disagrees with the ruling of Advertising Standards Authority of South Africa's (ASASA) regarding the advert that was flighted on behalf of government to create awareness of the new dispensation of the e-toll system. The new dispensation made provision for a 60% discount on e-toll debt, and this was included in SANRAL advertising broadcast in May and June as part of an information campaign. igher Education and Training Deputy Minister Mduduzi Manana has officially opened the Nelson Mandela Day Career Development Festival, which exposes learners to information on career advice and post-school education and training opportunities. Training (NEET). The department was mandated in 2010 to drive career development services for the country as outlined in the Delivery Agreement 5 signed between President Jacob Zuma and the Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr Blade Nzimande. Since 2010, the National Skills Fund and the Sector Education and Training Authority's (SETAs) partnered with the department to fulfil this mandate. During the event, the Deputy Minister including KwaZulu-Natal Education

MEC Peggy Nkonyeni visited career villages that had over 60 exhibitors with stakeholders made of SETAs, government departments and social partners. About 1 000 Grade 9 learners and NEET from the Uthungulu District were exposed to information on subject choices, career choices and minimum requirements for National Senior Certificate. Speaking at the opening of the festival held at uMfolozi Technical Vocational Education and Training College in Esikhawini Campus, KwaZulu-Natal, on Wednesday, Deputy Minister Manana highlighted that the festival is targeted at high school learners and NEET residing in rural areas because they have historically been the least serviced, and have thus lagged behind in development. “Making a career choice is one of the most important decisions a learner makes. It istherefore vital that learners have the necessary information and get proper advice before they make such decisions,” said the Deputy Minister. Grade 9 learners are targeted because they have not yet chosen their subjects. The festival will run from the 15 - 18 July 2015, to coincide with the Mandela Day. On the last day of the event, Minister Nzimande is expected to lead the activities of the day. – SAnews.gov.za

For Pretty Nhlabathi, switching to government's new birth control implant spiced up life in the bedroom – and gave her a choice about baby number four By Cynthia Maseko

I

n February 2014, Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi introduced the country’s first under-the-skin implant to prevent pregnancy, called Implanon Nxt, as part of new national guidelines aimed to expand women’s birth control choices. From Mpumalanga’s Mkhondo Local Municipality, 27-year-old Nhlabathi switched to the implant about a year ago prompted by side effects stemming from her previous injectable birth control. According to Implanon Nxt’s insert, the match-sized device can lead to vaginal discomfort stemming from an increase or change in secretions. Nhlabathi reports she experienced a reduction in vaginal secretions that she attributes to the contraception – and one that she said her boyfriend enjoyed. “When I was using the normal contraceptive my boyfriend used to complain while we having sex, saying, ‘your vagina is watery,’” she told OurHealth. “After putting in the implant, he said nothing.” Nhlabathi says the implant has helped her plan for the future.“The implant has given me enough time to plan for having kids and now, I am not worried about having another child in the near future” adds the single mother. “I sometimes wish (the implant) could have come sooner – (then) I wouldn’t be having three kids at the age of 27.” But she adds her boyfriend fell prey to many myths around the upper-

Women on certain epilepsy, tuberculosis and HIV medications should consult a doctor before switching to Implanon Nxt as some of these mediations can reduce the implant's effectiveness arm implant. “Three months after inserting the implant we broke up and his reason was that he couldn’t wait three years to have a baby,” Nhlabathi adds. Although the implant can protect a woman from unwanted pregnancy for about three years, women wanting to have a baby can remove it sooner. Once a woman removes the implant, she can fall pregnant quickly. Implant manufacturers Merck advises women wait until after their first natural period after removing the implant before trying to conceive. This will help women more accurately predict when the baby will be due, according to the package insert. Double up for safety’s sak But the implant will never protect women from HIV or sexually transmitted infections, which is why Nhlabathi says she will also use condoms with her next boyfriend.“Poverty is the biggest factor when it comes to women initiating condoms in their relationship because they are afraid of losing their only source of income” “I may not have a tellsOurHealth. partner now but when I decide to start dating for sure I

will use a condom to protect myself and my partner as well,” she tellsOurHealth. Beauty Mhlanga is a local health promoter. She says although poverty makes some women eager to please – and keep – their partners by having unprotected sex, she encouraged women to use dual protection “Poverty is the biggest factor when it comes to women initiating condoms in their relationship because they are afraid of losing their only source of income,” she explained. “Some think that if they do initiate (condom use), men will think they have something to hide like having more sexual partners or that they are HIV positive.” “My advice to women is that no matter what your partner or partners think of you using birth control and condoms, protect yourself first and worry about their thinking later,” she added. “Your health and safety should always come first…it’s our bodies and we should take care of ourselves.” Women on certain epilepsy, tuberculosis and HIV medications should consult a doctor before switching to Implanon Nxt as some of these mediations can reduce the implant’s effectiveness. health-e.org.za

DATE WITH GOD & LIFESTYLE These Are the Last Days

How to get things right the first time! Philippians 1:11 "Jesus Christ will fill your lives with everything that God's approval produces. Your lives will then bring glory and praise to God." Have you often wondered how you can start living the life that Christ wants you to? If you have, you will notice that you start wondering how you know what's good and what's approved to Him right? Most of us feel so unholy when we think of how we keep doing the "wrong" things. We make planners to let go of the wrong people, and the wrong things, but then it seems like it doesn't work. This scripture shows us that, on our own we will keep doing the wrong thing over and over. But when we allow Jesus Christ to reign, He ensures that He fills us with everything that we need to make it. Allowing Jesus to lead, is the same move you made to allow Him to be your Lord and Saviour. No matter how dark and ugly your past is, Jesus Christ is still there and He wants to help you to change for the best. He wants

to assist you in letting go of what doesn't matter, so that you can start living a life of abundance (John10:10). Salvation has more to do with then just saying, "Yes" to Christ. It also involves having Him changing your mindset and also changing your life. You cannot start living right, if your are still thinking the wrong way. Jesus Christ can renovate your mindset and fill it with the right things. The best way to do that is to spend more time reading the Word of God. How did you become saved? Its because you heard about Him right? Well the next step to growing in HIM, is to keep hearing more about Him. Salvation ensures that you not only be free from a life of sin and death; you are also empowered to live a life of abundance that brings God glory. Isn't it funny how when you first meet sometime you'd like to be in a relationship with, you feel that everything is fine and amazing. But then times get rough, you don't just walk out, you are patient enough to see who this person

truly is and you are keen on seeing how they will also push with you to make things work out. That's what we ought to do with Christ to. We don't stop reading the Bible because now we know that we have said YES to Him! No! We need to keep working on the new relationship we have with Him. If you feel that your life isn't brining God glory, then it's time to take things to the next level. You cannot miss out on the full package. Christ knows who and what belongs in your life. He WILL remove the wrong people and things, and fill your life with people who matter and things that matter. The best way to flush out the negative in your life, is to start putting in the right thing. We have all seen quotes by Martin Luther King that says, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can drive out darkness. " And that stands for your life to. Nobody but Jesus Christ can break those generational curses. Only Jesus Christ can break those bad habits. Only Jesus Christ can give you a

Eurika Mogane inspirationaleurika@gami.com BBM: 2BA9B742 http://inspirationaleurika.com fresh start! Getting things right the first time is about putting in the right things at the right time. You need to be able to allow the Word of God to be your beginning in everything you do.(John1:1). So many of us fall into the trap of doing the wrong thing at the right time, because we don't know what we need to have in our lives. Jesus Christ knows exactly what you need! And He can make it happen for you today. That is salvation! Are you willing to hear more about Him? Have a blessed week in God's beautiful presence! #InspirationalEurika

A Guide For Start-up Businesses(PART 6)

tocks, shares, equities – they are different words for the same thing. If you own a share you own a tiny part of a company. To really understand the basics, let's start with an example. It's a very simple imaginary company but it explains all sorts of dynamics that would happen with a big company listed on a stock exchange, and some of the jargon. You want to start a little company – shall we call it BigDream Creations – but you need some money to grow. So you ask five friends for R10 000 each. But your

friends don't want to lend you their money because they are scared you won't pay it back, so together you all decide they can own half your company in return for that money. The company issues 10 shares. Each of the investors buys one “share” in BigDream and because of your still own half the company you get 5 shares. BigDream has R50 000 to use for its growth (the money isn't yours – it belongs to BigDream). PLUS, your friends say that they want a small part of the company's

profit every year (they want a dividend). Tough people, your friends. But they are now shareholders too. At the start of the company there are 10 shares each worth R10 000, so the market capitalisation (or market cap) of BigDreams is R10 000 x 10 = R100 000. Market cap is the number of shares issued multiplied by the share price. You carry on running the day-to-day operations of BigDream (you are the chief executive) but who makes the really big decisions? What happens if you and your

fatalities, where incidents occurred mainly at unregistered schools, while Mpumalanga reported one fatality and the North West reported one fatality. “This still remains very much unacceptable. Government sends its deepest condolences to all families that have lost their beloved ones,” said the Ministry. The Ministry for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs requested a meeting with the National Director of Public Prosecutions and the office of the National Police Commissioner to ensure ways of accelerating investigations, arrests and successful prosecutions for all perpetrators of fatalities without delay. Fatalities were mainly caused by among others, abuse, neglect and by people who don't uphold the interests of the culture and the sanctity of human life in general. Government had aimed for a “Zero Death” initiation season through the campaign that was launched before the winter season started. To this end, government endeavours to work tirelessly in its efforts to fight the scourge of deaths, abuse and assaults of initiates

leading up to the coming summer initiation season in December.” Government also commends all traditional leaders, departments and communities who worked with the South African Police Service (SAPS) in successfully affecting the arrests of those who contributed to the loss of life, abuse and assault of initiates. The police were also thanked for their swift action in shutting down illegal schools.

“There is a sigh of relief as initiates have returned back to their homes as the winter initiation season has come to an end and the focus would be on the boys who are still in hospitals as a result of injuries. “Government calls upon all affected parents to report all cases of unlawful conduct and to avail themselves as witnesses to ensure efficient investigations, swift arrests and successful prosecutions.” - SAnews.gov.za

Sobrino Valdeci Picanto, 59, was arrested in Apore, Goiás, Brazil, for raping several women attending his church. He gave as an excuse that his penis had been consecrated with “divine semen of the Holy Spirit.” Valdecir came to abuse some elderly, and defends himself by saying that 'he had an encounter with Jesus in a brothel and gave him the mission of spreading the sacred semen throughout the state, beginning with the faithful Apore Assembly, of which he is responsible'. Denise Pinheiro, delegate of the region, said, “Valdecir was caught redhanded while rubbing his penis in the face of a local merchant, which promised to make more sales in her business due to the divine liquid. When we acted Valdecir offered no resistance and even asked if I wanted to be part of the kingdom of heaven on the way to the police station.

Government Concerned About Initiation Deaths hile government has welcomed all the graduates from initiation schools, it is also concerned about the high number of deaths that happened during this season, says the Ministry of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs. “As the winter initiation season comes to an end, government would like to welcome all the graduates from the initiation schools. Government congratulates all the provinces and all the stakeholders who heeded the clarion call for zero fatality initiation season and these were Gauteng, Western Cape, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal and Northern Cape,” said the Ministry on Monday. The initiation season officially ended last week before the reopening of schools. “However, government is also concerned about the high number of deaths that happened during this season. Thirty three lives have been lost as compared to 44 deaths during the same season in 2014.” Of this figure, the Eastern Cape has reported 28 fatalities, which is the highest number in the country. Pastor Convinces Followers His Penis Contains 'Holy Milk' : Makes Them Drink His Semen An evangelical pastor arrested for raping his faithful, after convincing them that his penis contained “sacred milk” Sobrino Valdeci Picanto, an evangelical pastor from Brazil, persuaded his followers that he practiced oral sex because it was the way he preached the word, saying that his 'milk' was sacred. And this pastor said his penis was blessed and that “the Lord had consecrated with divine milk of the Holy Spirit” and of course, had to go around evangelising. “He convinced us that only God could come into our lives through the mouth”, a follower said, “Often, after worship, Pastor Valdeci asked us to do oral sex on him until the Holy Spirit came through ejaculation and delivered funds to the church.”
