It was an election that altered the face of the nation.

It was a loud and crazy election which reaffirmed democracy, but it took place in the shadow of death. As many as 20 councillors and campaigners died in this election, a terrifying statistic which deserves some serious attention.

Surely democracy should not exact such a price?

What this election did was to finally find the missing piece of the democratic puzzle — political competition. It is now clear that South Africans are prepared to “chuck out the bums”, as the Americans say, when they think their elected officials are failing them.

The genie is out of the bottle. The old habit of placing the party above all else has begun to melt in the heat of accountability.

What comes next will define this country. The ANC has two short years to turn the tide. Will it finally act to remove the man who has defined ruling party arrogance and who does not respect the constitution, Jacob Zuma?

Also in the wings is the start of a whole new way of governing at local level as several major cities will be ruled by coalitions. Will the politics of negotiation bring new energy to civic affairs or will it lead, Italian-style, to administrative inertia and further decay? It's a cliche, but it really does “remain to be seen”.

Some elderly people are abandoned andleft destitute in dilapidated shelters to become subjected to inhabitable and unsafe conditions”, Executive Mayor Mtshali said when he expressed his concern and sadness in one of his outreach at KwaThandeka near Amsterdam.

These situations are creating need for the Municipality to go an extra mile in approaching good Samaritans who are willing to bring social relief to the affected elderly people.

Members of the community some of whom have been there when the historical event unfolds, couldn't hide their excitement as they broke out in joyful tunes while others ululated.

"It ok. I will place you under my care for one year," said the psychiatrist. "Come talk to me three times a week and we should be able to get rid of your fears.”

"How much do you charge?" I asked.

"R200 per visit," replied the doctor.

"I'll sleep on it and if need be I

will come back to you," I said.

Six months later the Psychiatrist met me on the street. "Why didn't you come to see me about the fears you were having?" he asked.

"Well, R200 a visit three times a week for a year is an awful lot of money! A barman cured me for R250 only once off. I was so happy to have saved all that money that I went and bought me a new Double Cab parked over there." I said pointing.

"Is that so!" With a bit of an attitude he said, "and how, may I ask, did a barman cure you?" He asked.

"He told me to cut the legs of the bed off! Now I know no one can go under my bed."

Even though this is related as here as a joke, there are a lot of people who have created fears for themselves that have held them back from achieving their dreams! Some have even become their worst enemies as they keep pulling themselves down by believing in unfounded myths that some old ancestor is angry with them and unless they do A, B C and D, nothing will go right!

The Sixty Seven Minutes had an effect during Mandela month in Lekwa when it was celebrated through the patching up of potholes on some roads.

“We identified this street because it is used a lot by trucks and it is important that it is kept in order. Mandela day is everyday, so we budget and it is ongoing work under the Municipal support budget” said MEC Nhlengethwa.

Gert Sibande Actors Working Around The Clock “The Covenant Ring”

Finally the team posed for a group photo “The Covenant Ring” is a film that written by Moses Sibeko from Ermelo. The film is about a businessman by the name Khabako who is desperately in need of a magical ring that was used by a late businessman, Mahlobo, to build his business empire.

Khabako sends his boys to get the ring from Mahlobo's son Lucas.

he boys kill Lucas and take the ring. One of them by the name of

Zweli makes a mistake and puts the ring on his finger.

When he tries to remove the ring, the ring won't come off!

It is then that they start to die one by one.

When the boys see that they are dying, they remember a man by the name of John who once threatened to kill them one by one.

They kill him too hoping that their problem would come to an end. Unfortunately that does

not happen.

They continue to die, one by one! Zweli finally discovers that he is posessed by the spirit of the ring and he is the one killing his friends.

His boss Khabako, passes away in a car accident. The rest is for you to find out!.

The film's location is in Davel, Kwadela, a small town just outside Eemelo as well as in Ermelo townships.

BIOGRAPHY Bongani was born in 1991 in Bongani “SLOW T” mahlangu the small town of Bethal

Mpumalanga but was raised in Ermelo, he started school at Peter Mabuza Primary School, later attended his secondary school at Qambekile Combined School.

It was during his high school years at Ithafa Comprehensive School that Bongani's love for radio and music developed.

He started listening to stations like Ikwekwezi Fm and he also

started writing music and rapping in 2009 after listening to his favorite rapper EMINEM which has led him to be the most respected rapper in Ermelo, his style is kasi rap which sets him apart from most rappers.

Bongani's rap name is Slow T which is short for “slow toxic” which he is, he loves his music wholeheartedly and enjoys

every single moment of it and his motto is.
