A GLIMPSE OF LIGHT ost of us welcomed 2021 with uncertainty. With intensity of challenges that the previous year gave out, people cannot help but get skeptic about what the year may bring. Good thing, positivity can also be contagious. Before this dreaded pandemic hit, a round of thanksgiving parties were usually held after the holiday season. With the whole situation that is going on, I personally thought that such gatherings will have to wait. Though I was initially right, good thing today’s technology made it possible for our friends in the beat to meet online and wish for a fruitful new year together. Of course, nothing beats face-to-face parties, but it is just uplifting to know that there are people around you who are still optimistic about things that are to come. Special mention to the AC Industrials who hosted one of the most enjoyable online parties that I have ever attended. It was a movie-themed party so everyone came in costume of their favorite movie character. Another thanksgiving event was hosted by Nissan Philippines. It was a short but sweet online event over a sumptuous cold cut treat from

the generous people of Nissan Philippines. Another notable happening in the early weeks of the new year is our very own, Philippine Rallycross Series’ shakedown session. It might just be a small gathering of the usual suspects in our races but I personally saw it as a motivation that 2021 will be an awesome year. A lot of great plans were parked when the Covid-19 pandemic struck everyone in 2020, this includes a full season of dirt time trial action as well as a full rally series that could have been bigger than the one we hosted last 2018. But with the new support from Clark Global City, as well

as seeing the people who came out and tried out their rally cars during the shakedown session - it kind of sparked a fire inside me; I took it as a preview of a good year for Philippine Rallycross Series. Everyone has been preparing and looking forward to being back on track and race on dirt. I am thrilled! Having been to these events made me look forward to what more is in store for the motoring industry in the country. Though everyone seems like still in survival mode, all are keeping a positive outlook. I realized that is enough to move forward and see what is in store right around the corner. Laban lang!
