What is the Four-Way Test?
Happy New Year, everyone! We are excited to share the growth of our club and upcoming service projects. As president in a challenging year, I humbly announce, our club gave their hearts out. Served with tenacity and grit. There is nothing quite like a challenged Rotarian! At the start of a fresh new year, I invite you to join us for a meeting or sign up to serve with us on a project, get to know us. The growth of our club is important to us and we welcome you at any time. In advance of that thought, I would like to share a few things about our members. We are a very diverse group. Our club’s gender, ethnicity and ranges of all ages adds to our appeal. We care about one another – Rotary is a family to us. We gather for holidays and celebrations (safely, of course). We love spending time together. Also noteworthy is the unwavering support of our community. We host many events and service projects throughout the year. Without the
backing of Avalon Park and surrounding neighborhoods, we would not be able to pull these off successfully. Another strong appeal of our club is the diverse industries we represent. We have folks from banking, real estate, food and beverage, technology, aviation, graphic design, marketing, sports, insurance, finance, accounting, public relations and locally owned small businesses. We support one another’s ventures and their professional development. In closing, I ask, “What can we do for you?” Please send us ideas and ways we can serve this year. We are always looking for new ways to help others. I leave you with one final thought, our Four-Way Test. It was developed in 1932 by Herbert J. Taylor and it has never ceased to be relevant. It is the Rotary cornerstone of all action, a checklist of ethical behavior:
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned? Our club has so much fun we’ve adopted an unofficial 5th part of the Four-Way Test: 5. Is it FUN? Come by and check us out! We meet every Wednesday at 7:30 am at the Avalon Park Community Center, 13401 Tanja King Blvd. http://www. rotaryclubofavalonpark.org YIRS, Greg Meunier President Rotary Club of Avalon Park
Of the things we think, say or do 1. Is it the TRUTH?
