Το κτίριο χτίστηκε το 1915 και κάποια στοιχεία του έχουν διατηρηθεί, όπως τα ξύλινα δοκάρια και οι κολώνες, τα εκτεθειμένα τούβλα στους τοίχους και τα ψηλά ταβάνια με τα μεγάλα παράθυρα. Πρόκειται για έναν πρώην φούρνο σε βιομηχανικό στιλ, το οποίο μεταμορφώθησε σε έναν εντυπωσιακό χώρο διαβίωσης. Προκειμένου να κάνει περισσότερο ξεκάθαρη τη διάταξη των χώρων, ο αρχιτέκτονας χρησιμοποίησε έντονα χρώματα. Το χολ έγινε σκούρο πράσινο, με χαμηλό ροζ ταβάνι. Προχωρώντας στο εσωτερικό του σπιτιού, κανείς δεν μπορεί παρά να θαυμάσει το φυσικό φως που λούζει τα ψηλοτάβανα δωμάτια, κάτι που τα κάνει να φαίνεται μεγαλύτερα από ό,τι είναι στην πραγματικότητα. Aof Zaha Hadid Architects, and his resume has a list of various projects in London and Vienna. During the lockdown, he decided to use his free time on one of his personal projects, the renovation of his loft in Brooklyn, New York. The building dates back to 1915, with some of its elements being well preserved, such as timber beams and columns, exposed bricks on the walls and high ceilings with large windows. It is a former industrial-style bakery, enriched with bespoke elements and transformed into an impressive living space. In the intention to make the layout of the spaces clearer, the architect used bright colors. The hall was made dark green, with a dropped pink ceiling, and as you walk inside the apartment, you can only be impressed by the natural light that “bathes” the high-ceilinged rooms, making them look bigger than they actually are. The common areas are painted in light peach – an interesting alternative if you want something discreet – while for the bedrooms a pale blue tone was used, which exudes calm and serenity. Monserrat did not want to use any white.
