Happy Fall Key Clubbers! Smelling the aroma of pine cones with a tad of cinnamon + drinking a cup of hot cocoa while enjoying the warmth from the fire place is something I want to do all day‌ but because Key Club is 1000x better, I would rather be volunteering with you all! I hope all of you guys are going well, and just a reminder: Pasadena Rose Float is coming up on 12/12 (so excited!). We have plenty of holidayrelated services on our site, so don’t forget to check it out! I am definitely counting down the days until winter break (two more club meetings!). Love you guys and stay warm! // President Calista Ho 3

“AYALA KEY CLUB”

5

As this year was my first time attending LA AIDS Walk, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I certainly did not expect the 100+ degree weather! Despite the crazy heat, this event was a very memorable experience since I had no choice but to bond with the people around me for the several hours that we were walking. It was so exciting to walk through the iconic points in LA and see all of the volunteers on the side cheering us on. One surprising bonus was randomly spotting another Key Club division or club and shouting “HEY KEY CLUBBERS, HOW DO YOU FEEEEEL?”. We also ran into the BuzzFeed building and received free “OMG” stickers. There were also plenty of free snacks and drinks that the people on the side were giving out to encourage the walkers! Overall, LA AIDS walk was a fun experience, and I would definitely attend this again next year! BUT, next year I would bring some extra items such as a hat, extra water bottles, and maybe even mini-fan necklace that sprays water! //Claire Park

Why you should attend this event next year: 1) There are over 15+ different stations to volunteer at! 2) You can learn about watersaving techniques! 3) Lots of free gifts, prizes, and food! 4) There is a petting zoo with bunnies, sheep, chickens, goats, and AN ALPACA! 5) You can interact with kids! 6) You can get your face painted! 7) Time flies at this event! :) 8) JUST DO IT. 7

Today was the first of many Key Club events this school year! To kickstart the fall season, I, as well as 10 other Key Clubbers, had the opportunity to serve our community at the annual Fall Festival hosted at the Equestrian Center. We each arrived at around 4:00 PM and were all so eager to receive our tasks. We were then split into small groups of 1-3, and had a specific station to go to. Those stations were either handing out food, helping with arts and crafts, the petting zoo, the pumpkin patch area, or the pumpkin decorating table. As this was a family event, we got to see a few familiar faces and see kids smile and laugh as they devoured some delicious caramel apples or put silly faces on their pumpkins. As odd as this might sound, my favorite part of the night was actually the clean-up. This was when all the Key Clubbers came together to help clean up and laugh with each other when someone didn't know how to fold up a table. The event ended at around 8:00 PM and although I wish it could have lasted longer, I can happily say that new friendships were formed between Ayala Key Club members and even some staff workers. The night was filled with joy, cheeriness, and festivities. I hope to return to this event next year! // Michelle Ho 8

This year’s Bark for Life was a great chance to raise money for the American Cancer Society while playing with and meeting lots of new furry friends! Ayala Key Clubbers helped take down some of the vendors’ tents after the event was over. The event was lively and full of happy people, dogs, and even horses! Bark for Life is definitely the place to be for anyone who loves animals and celebrating a wonderful organization! //Julie Choi 11

Every year, right before Fall Rally occurs, Division 15 holds a Pre-Fall Rally in order to ensure that every member knows the cheers and chants. The spirit committee’s diligence and hard-work paid off as all of the attendees cheered their hearts out and mingled with new giraffes! Also, the spirit coordinators made sure that there was never a dull moment by sharing testimonies, starting mini-spirit battles, or creating spontaneous, new chants! If you couldn’t attend this one, make sure to come to next year’s! //Claire Park 12

Fall Rally is undoubtedly very fun and exciting since we get to go to Six Flags Magic Mountain and share a unique bond with thousands of other passionate Key Clubbers! I will never forget my first Fall Rally—it was truly unfathomable how large this service organization was! Through Fall Rally, I was able to meet some of my closest friends by waiting in long lines together and yelling our hearts out. Also, one cannot help but get inspired when you are surrounded with the friendliest high schoolers EVER! Not to mention, the spirit gear that some Key Clubbers show up in is absolutely fabulous! This year, I was honored to serve as a main spirit coordinator on the Division 15 spirit committee, and this made ALL the difference! I had an opportunity to join the process of creating the cheers/chants, teach them to large groups, and lead chants during spirit battles. I definitely recommend getting as involve as possible to maximize your epic Fall Rally experience! //Claire Park

Fall Rally South has always been one of the more heavily anticipated events, and this year was definitely no exception. This year's rally was both a memorable and bittersweet experience for me since it was only my second year and also my last. Fall Rally is a tremendous opportunity for Key Clubbers from all over the CNH district to culminate together and showcase their spirit and passion for service. It's also a time to meet up with old friends or even make new ones. All the fancy “Free Hugs” and "Ask me how I feel" signs exuded positive feelings and good vibes. I couldn't have been any happier meeting all the various Key Clubbers from around California, Nevada, and Hawaii. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Fall Rally South this year, and although I will definitely miss all the wonderful memories that I shared with many others at Six Flags I have no regrets and I hope future generations of Ruben Ayala Key Clubbers will get to experience the fun, and passion for service that I did. //Howard Dong

If you like concerts, Fall Rally is actually somewhat similar! During the rally, the best ever sentimental old songs were playing—my favorites were "I Gotta Feeling" by Black-Eyed Peas and "Hey Soul Sister" by Train—and everyone from around our region, including Hawaii, was waving pom-poms/spirit gear and singing. Those moments made me feel alive and light-hearted. Seeing all the different colored division t-shirts all here for the same reason, service, reminded me of why I am in Key Club: I love helping others. Junior year is inevitably stressful, and screaming the chant at the top of my lungs was a great, healthy release. I felt special and honored to be representing our extremely hard-working division! I loved that people were wearing "Free Hugs" signs, and everyone was spirited and had positive attitudes. Every year that I go, I get super close to some really nice friends and get service hours for pure fun! I look forward to next year! //Eva Ma

Despite it being my first year as a Key Clubber, Fall Rally was definitely one of the highlights of my year, not because I went to Magic Mountain, but because of the meaning behind preparing for this event and attending it. I absolutely enjoyed learning the different cheers along with amazing Key Clubbers from other schools and getting spirit gear for the big day. On the day of Fall Rally, I was shocked that thousands of loving and welcoming Key Clubbers were at the entrance of Magic Mountain, all of us there for the purpose of showing our passion for community service! And even better, a lot of these fellow members were giving free hugs! I made new friends from other divisions and realized the power teamwork for the purpose of bettering our communities. I definitely recommend Fall Rally to anyone next year! //Paulina Anzaldo

The spirit that fills the air when you go to Fall Rally is indescribable because it cannot be experienced elsewhere. Every year, I know a lot of members who look forward to this experience of thousands of Key Clubbers gathering together for a day dedicated to fun, service, and spirit. Fall Rally 2015 did not disappoint because we all came together once again to raise funds for PTP all the while having a blast with our friends, either screaming on the top of our lungs on a roller coaster or just taking a stroll around the park. Every few steps taken that day is met with a spirit battle or with free hugs, both of which are welcomed. The madness of everyone fighting to show who had the most spirit definitely made my last Fall Rally a memorable one. If you were not able to make it this year, I highly encourage you to try and make it sometime in your high school career. It is definitely well worth it. Fall Rally exemplifies Key Club's motto: Caring is our Way of Life. //Myra Zhan

Hey Key Clubbers! Thank you so much for all of your dedication to service within these past few months! Our fall season has been remarkably productive because of YOU! From the various fall festivals to all-things-Fall -Rally, it has been incredible to see so many Key Clubbers FALL-ing in love with service! As autumn has come to and end, let’s keep our fire going and continue to work hard for the rest of the year! We have already raised SO MUCH ($5000+) for PTP and other great organizations (e.g., NephCure, UNICEF, and MNT)! Once again, I am so grateful for all of the awesome work that you have been doing—don’t forget to keep checking the website for new events! //Claire Park 22
