Hello giraffes! June is health and fitness month, and it is so important to focus on your physical, mental, and emotional health! This summer, I plan on becoming more fit with baby steps—I will keep water around me at all time and drink as much as I can, sleep earlier and longer, eat more fruits and vegetables, and make it a goal to complete at least one exercise a day. Moreover, I will try to skip eating junk food and focus on making sure my body is healthy and happy. The word exercise seems very intimidating, but exercises do not need to be super rigorous— even going out and walking, doing yoga, or using a fitness app count. Furthermore, if you have toxic people in your life who put you down, surround you with negativity, and are not good friends, I encourage you to stop including them in your life. It is paramount to surround yourself with people who lift you up when you are feeling sad and encourage you to become a better person. Nanxi Liu
I hope everyone is having a great start of summer. As we early, eating breakfast, or living a scheduled lifestyle, it is summer life, in which we wake up whenever we want, ea resistible junk foods. I personally am not really a person w Factory Tea Bar and had boba and sugar/butter filled br But we can all change that right? So giraffes, I challenge each day, and eat plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits w that summer beach body, yeah?
Summer time is both a time where you can work hard on that beach bod or totally wreck it and eat out 24/7. To keep myself energized I stick to a 5 day workout and save the weekends to have fun and eat out. I like to mix it up where I can swim laps, go walk the trail behind my house, or do some time on the elliptical for my cardio. I don't really believe in dieting but I make sure I eat some type of fiber daily and drink plenty of water. These are just some things I do to stay active and energized and to keep a lifestyle of high fitness for future habits.
I love any and all types of fruit during the summer. Watermelon is not only good to stay hydrated and full, but it's frickin deliciousssss. Mangos, strawberries, and other fruits just use their magical natural sugar powers to give you a nice refreshing boost for any and all summer activities and more importantly service (ayyyyye).
e all get out of school and lose our habits of waking up very easy to lose your healthy way of life and enter the at irregularly, and fill our stomachs with unhealthy but irwho lives a healthy lifestyle; just 3 days ago I went out to rick toast, which was my first meal of the day (chokes). e you guys! Try to do at least 20 sit ups and 5 push ups when you can! I believe in you guys! Let's all work on
I stay fit by hiking and walking to nearby service events! I also eat right by getting my favorite summertime fruit, watermelons, and drink a lot of water every day! Admittedly, I have cheat days because it's also good to love yourself whenever you have cravings!
During the summer, I try to go swimming and hiking. I love to swim laps and go hiking in the early morning. Since I have more time for myself during summer, I make it a goal to exercise as much as I can. Being active in the summer is great & it stirs away from being lazy, and not being productive. Watermelon is in season & I love eating cold watermelon on hot summer days! I also love eating apples because it makes me full. Eating fruit during the summer helps me feel even more energized! Staying active helps me have more energy to go to service events.
Summer is a time for having fun but it's also a great time to stay healthy! With all the adventuring , it isn't hard to get fit. Strolling on the beach, taking morning hikes, swimming with some friends are all methods of staying healthy that don't make it sound like a chore. There are yummy colorful fruits and vegetables out there that make eating healthy seem more fun. I absolutely love summer because it means my favorite fruit is in season: strawberries! There's nothing more summer aesthetic than a watermelon or a glass of lemonade, and all of these options are a nice healthy treat. Staying fit during the summer isn't as hard when you realize that you're already doing it!
The Kiwanis Car Show was one of the most amazing event I've been to. Kiwanians from Rancho and some vendors all pitched in to help to make this event amazing. Although, this year, us Key Clubbers may not had have many things to do, we all enjoyed being there and helping out with anything that had to be done. For this year's car show, Kiwanians had us sell tickets & water. We walked around the parking lot, Farmer Boys & Lowe's to sell them. We all had a great time, and I totally recommend incoming Key Clubbers to attend Division Events, because you will get an opportunity to meet new people from other schools. This year’s Let It Be Walk was extremely fun! Although it was somewhat exhausting & early, it was very fun to be volunteering. In the morning, we met neat the front of the school & walked over to the basketball courts. Our first task was to zip tie boards onto the fences. Then, we set up medals for the runners/walkers. After, we all walked to the finish line & cheered the runners on as they crossed! It was super fun cheering & dancing to the music too! We also got to take down the signs when the walk was over. Overall, this event was super exciting & upbeat. This was such a fun volunteering opportunity & it was also for a great cause too—which made it even better! Jackeline Ngo/Chino Hills/Vice President
Officer Training Conference OTC introduced me to a whole new world & the behind-the-scenes work for Key Club. It gave me a chance to meet really great people and show off our spirit & passion for helping others. It motivated me to be more active and I learned about what being a true leader is—serving others. I also learned how to organize events, become a better member, and what each officer position entails. Overall, it was kind of like a milestone—definitely something very unique that I’ve never experienced before. I’m glad it’s the backbone of key club that provides me with these rare opportunities. It was super fun; I highly recommend it to every member/officer and I look forward to the next conference! Eva Ma/Ruben S. Ayala/Member This OTC was not only an incredible opportunity to meet members/officers from D36W, but also a refreshing conference to attend! I was surprised by the end of OTC of how much the different seminars affected me. Just seeing how work much the LTGs poured into this was inspiring! This also rallied me up for the upcoming school year to be the best officer that I can be, because I get my position for only a year! I definitely plan on applying all of the lessons learned so that I can be organized & effective. I also think it was useful for the PowerPoints to be emailed out to all of the attendees! Huge thanks to LTGs & DLTs for an awesome OTC! Claire Park/Ruben S. Ayala/Tech Editor
