APA yang seharusnya KITA DOAKAN?

• Mengucap syukur kepada Tuhan untuk anugerah masyarakat yang sehat dan relasi yang kita nikmati di kota kita (Ibrani 10:24‐25; Mazmur 133:1; Yesaya 45:18).

• Berdoa untuk pelayanan Bala Keselamatan di daerah-daerah miskin perkotaan. Bala Keselamatan lahir di daerah kumuh perkotaan Victoria Inggris dan masih banyak warga Bala Keselamatan di seluruh dunia yang berusaha menjadikan kota inklusif, aman, tangguh dan berkelanjutan. Semoga kehendak Tuhan terjadi di kota-kota kita hari ini seperti di sorga (Matius 6:10).

• Berdoa bagi mereka yang menjadi bagian dari pelayanan Bala Keselamatan di seluruh dunia, supaya mereka tidak bosan mengerjakan pekerjaan baik (Galatia 6:9).

• Untuk otoritas pemerintah di negara berkembang. Berdoa agar mereka tergerak oleh tangisan orang-orang yang hidup dalma kondisi menyedihkan dan agar mereka menanggapi dengan cara yang adil dan penuh kasih (Matius 14:14).

• Berdoa untuk pemerintah di seluruh dunia yang telah menandatangani SDGs, agar mereka terus menunjukkan komitmen terhadap transformasi yang adil dari kota dan kehidupan kota (1 Timotius 2:1‐2).

Apa yang dapat kita lakukan?

• Caritahu apa yang terjadi di daerah anda dalam hal pembangunan dan tata kelola. Dengan pengetahuan ini, perhatikan dan dukung inisiatif yang akan memberi manfaat ‐ seperti gedung, program, dan organisasi baru.

• Menjadi anggota komunitas yang aktif, bergabung dengan asosiasi pendudukk lokal dan kenali tetangga anda. Ikut serta dalam acara lokal. Dengan cara ini, rasa kepemilikan akan kota anda menjadi semakin besar anda dan memiliki suara yang lebih besar dalam menjalankan dan mengembangkannya.

• Melakukan jalan doa, baik sendirian maupun bersama teman-teman. Saat melewati lingkungan komunitas anda ‐ atau sebagian dari lingkungan itu ‐ doakan orang-orang yang tinggal dan bekerja di jalan-jalan dan bangunan yang anda lewati.
