Moksa’s main courses are just as interesting with the Tempeh Ribs as one of the stars of the menu. The tempeh are cut in big sizes and marinated with homemade barbeque sauce before they are grilled to perfection. This dish is even more fulfilling with mashed sweet potatoes, mixed greens and grilled tomato on the side. The Chef’s Bowl is another surprise. The dish is rich with flavor as the curry rice, tofu, mixed greens and mushrooms are perfectly blend with eggplant rendang, kimchi and thinly sliced tempeh resembling bacon. The Farmer’s Triple Decker is also a unique choice as it presents Moksa’s interpretation of simple club sandwich. Using similar methods to making their taco shells, Moksa dries carrot dregs – which they collect from carrot juice – for about six hours and turn them into “bread” with a soft

I was given anti-inflammatory drugs which totally upset my digestive system and caused vertigo. INTO THE WILDERNESS The next morning, it was time for an adventure. Our day began with a full breakfast at The Octagon Ocean Club before we headed to the dock to hop on the Plataran Private Cruise to go snorkeling around Menjangan Island. The sun was shining bright and the ocean was pretty friendly. Soft drinks, mineral water and canapés were served on the Phinisi boat, while several daybeds were available for us to lie under the sun. Cruising couldn’t be better than this!

It wasn’t long until we reached our destination, but before we left the private cruise, the captain gave a briefing and made sure that each of us wore life jackets. Then, we hopped on to a smaller boat to get to the snorkeling spot and finally jumped into the crystal clear ocean and swam to see Menjangan’s beautiful marine life. Aside from snorkeling, Plataran Menjangan Resort & Spa has other numerous adventurous activities, which our group experienced on our third day. Unlike the day before

His photographic journey started with film cameras and a home darkroom in his youth. After retiring in 2014, Mark has been combining his love for photography and travel. His main interest is photographing people from different cultures around the world, using both formal portraiture and street photography styles. We also walked through the forest to decide what features need to be added,” Jian explained how they built the customized track, including the safety points. The road is mostly soil with some layers of gravel added on the big turning section to give riders a sensational drifting experience once they give a deep revving thrust and splash dirt around. This is the ultimate driving experience that also tests your driving skills.

Riders are taken to the neat well-managed garage where those 28 buggies are waiting. The rules are displayed on a flat LCD screen; the information includes how to handle the ride, what needs to be considered along the road and what should not be done during the ride. After all is clear, each rider wears a helmet and their three point seatbelts are fastened. Then, there’s nothing else left than to hit the ignition button and the gas pedal. Surprisingly, the buggies are not blaring as loud as I thought they would be. The sound of the engine was more of a medium roar, resembling a prowling predator. The petrol-fueled engine gave a good thrust as soon as I hit the gas pedal on full throttle. The ride was super fun as I went through the dense tropical forest, waved to the local villagers, and saw an old man feeding his cows while roosters were roaming around the road. But the most fun was when I spin the wheel and drifted on soft gravel, blasting dirt to the buggy behind me.
