Más de 60 jugadores de toda España pudieron disfrutar de un gran día de golf, en la última prueba del Circuito de Golf NH Resorts en el Almenara Golf Hotel de Sotogrande. Un emocionante torneo a 27 hoyos, sobre los 3 recorridos que ofrece Almenara Golf, el de Pinos, Alcornoques y Lagos.

More than 60 players from all over Spain enjoyed a great day of golf in the final round of the NH Resorts Golf Circuit in the Almenara Hotel in Sotogrande. An exciting 27 holes tournament, based on the three courses offered by Almenara Golf: Pines (Pinos), Corks (Alcornoques) and Lakes (Lagos).

Esther Juárez fue la ganadora de la primera categoría, por delante de Pedro Díaz y Juan Perales cerrando el podio. En la segunda categoría, Domingo Martín lideró la clasificación, seguido de Eva Mozas y Tomás Lahoz, en tercera posición.

Esther Juárez was the winner of the first category, ahead of Pedro Diaz and Juan Perales who completed the podium. In the second category, Domingo Martin led the standings, followed by Eva and Thomas Lahoz Mozas who was third.

Los jugadores no solamente disfrutaron del golf, sino que el Torneo contó con una doble zona de avituallamiento y una zona VIP que, al finalizar los 27 hoyos, fue punto de reunión, antes de la cena de gala, en la que se entregaron los galardones y de la que pudieron disfrutar todos los jugadores y sus acompañantes, entre los que destacaron ilustres jugadores como el periodista Luis del Olmo y su esposa. ”Lo de jugar 27 hoyos ha sido todo un reto… no lo olvidaré nunca”, declaraba el genial periodista.

Players not only enjoyed the golf but also they enjoyed, along with those who were accompanying them, a double refreshment area and a VIP area that, at the end of 27 holes, was used as meeting point before the gala dinner and where the awards were given. Illustrious players as the journalist Luis del Olmo and his wife highlighted among the winners. “To play 27 holes has been a challenge ... I’ll never forget,” declared the great journalist.

Su opinión en nuestro país vale mucho, ¿qué valoración hace de España como país turístico? Mi valoración es lo de menos. Importa la valoración de los millones de turistas que nos visitan cada año y que vuelven cada año, seducidos por nuestras tierras, nuestras playas y nuestras noches. Somos la segunda potencia turística del mundo, y por algo será… Además, tenemos un enorme potencial por delante, porque pocas naciones pueden presentar nuestro potencial paisajístico, monumental, artístico, histórico y lúdico. España es un país para disfrutar. Lo que pido es que lo cuidemos con mimo para que cada año sea un poquito más seductor. Como buen gallego, tendrá sus manías a la hora de elegir un hotel, ¿nos las puede contar? Perdón, tengo manías, y demasiadas, pero no como gallego. Son manías muy vulgares: que pueda pagar la estancia, que me traten como si fuera un marqués, que todo esté limpio, que no haya mucho ruido, que no me toque al lado del ascensor y que no tenga que encender una linterna en el cuarto de baño para afeitarme. Es decir: precio, trato, limpieza, discreción y luz. ¿Qué disfruta más de un hotel? Todo, porque soy muy hotelero. Pero, para concretar un poco más: por la mañana, el desayuno. A media mañana, encontrar hecha la habitación. Por la tarde, un bar acogedor. Y por la noche, a ser posible, no dormir solo. ¿Qué destacaría de los resorts de NH que ha tenido la posiblidad de conocer? ¡Ya me gustaría conocerlos todos! Son hoteles pensados para el relax y el descanso, para disfrutar la vida. Y creo que lo han conseguido. Tienen un factor común a todos los NH, que es la atención esmerada. Y destaco sus instalaciones de ocio y cuidado personal. Cuando tenga que hacerme una cura de olvido del mundo, lo haré en un resort de NH. ¿Sabe lo que más me gusta? No ver casi nunca a nadie con un maletín de ejecutivo. Da gusto encontrarse con gente que va sencillamente a disfrutar. Me siento uno de ellos.

¿Cómo ha sido su estancia en el resort donde estamos haciendole esta entrevista, el NH Almenara? Absolutamente agradable. Si me apura un poco, inolvidable. Si me apura un poco más, casi feliz. Pero no es mérito único de NH, es que estaba en muy buena compañía. Sin ironías de mayor: ha sido una estancia espléndida. ¿Ha probado sus desayunos antioxidantes? ¡Cómo no voy a probarlos! ¿Usted me imagina a mí, ante aquella exhibición de manjares, haciendo penitencia? No, eso es una tentación. Yo creo que es pecado. Lo malo es que no soy nada experto en nutrición, pero se lo voy a decir como lo dirían en mi pueblo: “me pongo como El Quico”. Con que las propiedades de los productos de los desayunos AntiOx de NH me hagan la mitad de efecto, estoy seguro de que en cada estancia gano un año de vida. Y aquí me ve: ¿no me nota un poco más joven…? ¿Qué opinión le merece en su conjunto la cadena NH? En dos palabras: excelente y admirable. Excelente, por su calidad. Admirable, por el desarrollo ejemplar de una empresa. Alguna recomendación para mejorar… Sólo se me ocurre una: que los cocineros, los científicos, el presidente de la cadena, alguien, haga un invento para incorporar a los desayunos antioxidantes algo que disimule las canas y que parezca un color natural. Con eso, los hoteles de NH serían perfectos... ¿Le volveremos a ver por alguno de nuestros hoteles? ¿Usted qué cree? Perdone que le responda así, pero después de lo dicho, tengo que volver. Y si puedo, esta misma tarde. Y si no puedo, el próximo fin de semana. Sólo pienso una cosa: nadie sabe qué es la felicidad; pero tiene que ser lo más parecido a vivir en una suite de un NH resort. ¿Se lo imagina? ¿Se lo imagina aquí en el Hotel Almenara o en la Hesperia Isla la Toja? Gloria bendita…

If you insist a little more, I would say almost happy. But NH does not deserve the whole merit; the thing is that I was in a very good company. Talking seriously, without irony: it has been a wonderful stay. Have you tried their Antioxidant breakfast? How could I resist without trying them! Could you imagine me doing penance in front of such a display of dishes, ? No, that’s a temptation. I think it’s a sin. I am nothing like nutritionist but I’ll say how I behave as they do in my hometown: “I’m like El Quico” (Spanish expression applied to someone who eats everything). If the properties of the products included in the NH Antiox breakfast had half the expected effect, I am sure that each time I stay here I would increase one year my life expectancy. And here I go: you see me a little younger, don’t you?

What do you think about the NH chain as a whole? In two words: excellent and admirable. I would say excellent for its quality. And I would say admirable for the exemplary development of a business. El Albariño es sinónimo de aroma y sabor, de frescura y sutileza, de esencia gallega… Una variedad de uva capaz de conquistar al más refinado paladar o al neófito aficionado, gracias a su aroma punzante, floral y afrutado, que ha ido haciéndose hueco hasta llegar a convertirse en un caldo imprescindible a la hora de hablar de vinos. Aunque la leyenda otorga a los monjes cistercienses la introducción de esta extraordinaria uva blanca en el siglo XII, la ciencia encuentra sólidas razones para conceder a la Península Ibérica el mérito de su nacimiento, y a Galicia la tierra que extrae toda su riqueza. A pesar de algunas similitudes con las variedades francesas y alemanas, cultivadas en las riberas del Rin, la variedad Albariño es, sin duda, una uva autóctona y uno de los caldos españoles de mayor personalidad y prestigio. De una producción artesanal, con una escasa comercialización, se pasó a una moderna y muy efectiva explotación que culminó con la creación de la D.O. Rías Baixas, que comprende aquellos territorios de la provincia de Pontevedra donde tradicionalmente, y desde tiempo inmemorial, se producen Albariños de gran calidad.

Es buen momento para hacer una valoración a los dos meses de empezar. Ha sido un cambio, en el que me he encontrado con nuevas responsabilidades, con otros quehaceres, con un nuevo equipo, un nuevo director… y he ido afrontando todo con mucha naturalidad. Así que puedo decir que, en general, todo va muy bien, estoy muy contenta. Ahora se ven otros registros de mí y me siento muy a gusto.

Sobre todo, salgo a correr, a disfrutar del paisaje y después me paso por el gimnasio o por el Spa.

What do you usually do when you’re on vacation? Resting. I have very few holidays and I use them mainly to rest. For example, I love to take my breakfast in the hotel room in bathrobe, looking out the window, then read, write and play sports. Un cartel de lujo, con regatistas de primer nivel compitiendo cuerpo a cuerpo a bordo de barcos idénticos, sobre la espectacular bahía de Sotogrande son los principales reclamos del II Circuito NH Resort para Monotipos J80 que se disputa desde el pasado mes de octubre en aguas gaditanas. Una decena de barcos lucharán por el triunfo hasta el mes de junio, en una reñida competición, con más de cuarenta pruebas, para decidir al nuevo ganador de un circuito espectacular. Tras el éxito del I Circuito J80 NH Resorts, el pasado mes de octubre de 2012 arrancaba la II Edición de un circuito que, a pesar de su juventud, ya ha logrado hacerse un hueco de honor en el calendario náutico y captar la atención de cruceristas de primer nivel del panorama nacional y autonómico, gracias a su vistosidad y la calidad de sus participantes. Regata Inaugural (octubre 2012) Una decena de barcos y otras tantas tripulaciones salieron al campo de regatas de la bahía de Sotogrande para dar comienzo a la II Edición del Circuito J80 NH Resort, que se disputará a lo largo de nueve meses en aguas de la localidad gaditana de San Roque. El primer asalto fue para el ‘Herbalife’ de Juan Luis Páez y Pepequín Orbaneja. De nuevo, la táctica fue la clave y el barco del Náutico Sevilla se adjudicó las seis primeras pruebas, gracias a una consecución de maniobras casi perfectas. El podio lo completaron el ‘Península Petroleum’ de John Bassadone y el ‘Orobroy’. Mientras que el ‘Pas Team’, con Nacho Alcina en la caña, se situaba a dos puntos de podio, seguido a uno y cuatro puntos por el ‘Puerto Sotogrande’ de Miguel Ángel Díaz’, y el ‘Puerto Sherry’ de Arnaldo Brito y Borja Melgarejo, del RCMT Punta Umbría, quinto y sexto, respectivamente.

A luxury cast made up of top level sailors, who are racing hand to hand on board identical vessels over the spectacular bay of Sotogrande, is the main attraction of the Second NH Resort Circuit of J80 Monotypes, which takes place since last October in the waters of Cadiz. About ten boats will keep on fighting for the final victory until June, in a close contest with over forty races, to decide the new winner of such a spectacular circuit. Following the success of the First J80 NH Resorts Circuit, this Second Edition was launched in October 2012. Despite its youth, the circuit has already carved out a place of honor in the nautical calendar and has captured the attention of national and regional first level sailors, thanks to its attractiveness and the quality of its participants. Opening Regatta (October 2012) About ten ships and their respective crews sailed in the Bay of Sotogrande to kick off the second Edition of the J80 NH Resort Circuit which is going to be disputed over nine months in the waters of San Roque in Cadiz. The first race winner was the ‘Herbalife’ of Juan Luis Páez and Pepequín Orbaneja. Tactics were once again the key to success, and the boat from the Sevilla Yatch Club won the first six races thanks to a nearly perfect maneuvering. The podium was completed by the ‘Peninsula Petroleum’ of John Bassadone and the ‘Orobroy’. Meanwhile the ‘Pas Team’, with Nacho Alcina as skipper, finished two points behind the podium, followed by the ‘Puerto Sotogrande’ of Miguel Angel Diaz and the ‘ Puerto Sherry ‘ of Arnaldo Brito and Borja Melgarejo, both from the Punta Umbria Royal Yatch Club, fifth and sixth at one and four points respectively.

Copa Varadero de Sotogrande (noviembre 2012) Tras este inmejorable estreno, la flota se preparó a conciencia para la siguiente cita, la Copa Varadero de Sotogrande, celebrada en el mes de noviembre de 2012. ‘Herbalife’, ‘Península Petroleum’ y ‘Pas Team’ completaron el podio de esta segunda regata, en un esplendido día que deparó una jornada reñida y emocionante, donde el viento se aliaba con flota y organización soplando del Este. Unas condiciones que todos los participantes sin excepción apuraron al máximo. Así, la cita estuvo marcada por la igualdad de la flota. Finalmente los ocupantes de podio y ganadores de la Copa Varadero fueron, por este orden, ‘Herbalife’ (CN Sevilla), ‘Península Petroleum’ (RCM Sotogrande) y ‘Pas Team’ (RCM Sotogrande). Mientras que el ‘NH Resort’, con el onubense Gonzalo Pérez de Guzmán a la caña, ganaba la prueba inaugural, pero se quedaba a las puertas de podio al ceder después de la primera victoria con un 3º, un 5º y un 6º.

Copa Peninsula Petroleum (diciembre 2012) La tercera cita del II Circuito J80 NH Resort llegó con la celebración de la Copa Península Petroleum, en homenaje a la tripulación campeona del mundo de la clase RC44 con el barco del mismo nombre, que estuvo presente en esta nueva entrega del circuito. Además, la flota dio la bienvenida a tres nuevas embarcaciones que se incorporaban a un circuito que ya supera la decena de barcos. El barco ‘Herbalife’ se proclamó vencedor imbatido, en una regata marcada por los vientos de poniente, aprovechados al máximo por el ‘Few Oi’ de Luis Triay, que mantenía la cuarta plaza, seguido del ‘NH Resort’, que cerraba la mitad de la tabla. Con la celebración de estas primeras pruebas, el ‘Herbalife’ de Pepequin Orbaneja dilataba su ventaja respecto a sus seguidores, el ‘Península Petroleum’ de John Bassadone, el ‘Pas Team’ de Caine Federico, el ‘Few Oi’ de Luis Triay y el ‘NH Resort’.

Sotogrande Boat Yard Cup (November 2012) After such an excellent beginning, the fleet prepared itself thoroughly for the next appointment, the Sotogrande Boat Yard Cup, held in November 2012. The podium of this second race was reached by the ‘Herbalife’, the ‘Peninsula Petroleum” and the “Pas Team”. The regatta was developed in a beautiful day that featured a competitive and exciting race where the easterly wind allied itself with fleet and the organization. All participants without exception benefited of these weather conditions to the maximum. Thus, the event was marked by equality of the boats composing the fleet. Finally the boats which climbed to the podium as winners of the Sotogrande Boat Yard were, in this order: the ‘Herbalife’ (from Sevilla Royal Yatch Club), the “Peninsula Petroleum ‘(From Sotogrande Royal Yatch Club) and the “Pas Team ‘(also from Sotogrande Royal Yatch Club). The ‘NH Resorts’, with Gonzalo Perez de Guzman from Huelva as skipper, won the opening race but afterwards it made 3rd, 5th and 6th, and therefore it finished out of the podium.

Peninsula Petroleum Cup (December 2012) The Peninsula Petroleum Cup, celebrated to honor the crew of the ship of the same name that won the RC44 class world championship and which was participating in this edition of the circuit, supposed the perfect setting for the third race of the circuit. In addition, the fleet welcomed three new boats which were incorporated to a circuit in which more than ten boats are already participating. The ‘Herbalife’ was proclaimed the unbeaten winner of a race marked by westerly winds used to the maximum by the ‘Few Oi’ of Louis Triay, who held fourth place followed by the ‘NH Resort’ which closed the first half of the classification. With the conclusion of these first races, the ‘Herbalife’ of Pepequin Orbaneja increased its advantage with respect to its followers, the ‘Peninsula Petroleum’ of John Bassadone, the ‘Pas Team’ of Caine Federico, the ‘Few Oi’ of Louis Triay and the ‘NH Resort’.

On the 23rd of March 2012, the Second Edition of the NH Resorts National Golf Circuit began in Montanya, Barcelona. Más de 1.200 aficionados de toda España tuvieron la oportunidad de participar en la segunda edición del Circuito de Golf NH Resorts, celebrado durante nueves meses en clubes de prestigio como Montanya, La Herrería, El Bosque, Basozabal o Pineda. Un torneo de primer nivel en el panorama amateur, que tuvo su broche de oro con la gran final celebrada en el Almenara Golf Hotel de Sotogrande. Una apasionante prueba en unas instalaciones de excepción. Con la intención de acercarse a un público afín a la marca de NH Resorts y de amantes del deporte del golf, y de disfrutar de buenos momentos en entornos únicos, el Circuito Nacional se concibió en una modalidad de dos días. Un día en el que clientes y amigos de NH pudieron compartir momentos de golf y ocio fuera del ruido de la ciudad y del estrés de la oficina. Y un segundo día en el que todos los socios de los clubes a los que el Circuito fue visitando, disfrutaron de un torneo que causó impacto por su espectacular montaje y trato al socio, con zona VIP, zona de avituallamiento, espectaculares regalos y premios. Una media de 200 jugadores competía en cada una de las etapas de esta exitosa segunda edición del Circuito, en el que Esther Juárez Villar se proclamó ganadora de la primera categoría. Una final original y divertida Como colofón final, el Circuito disputó su última prueba en Sotogrande, en el espectacular Almenara Golf, con una prueba a 27 hoyos que hizo las delicias de todos los jugadores. Más de 60 invitados pudieron disfrutar de los tres recorridos diferentes de 18 hoyos, par 72 todos ellos, que ofrece Almenara Golf: los 9 hoyos técnicos de Pinos, la espectacularidad de los 9 hoyos de Alcornoques y las increíbles vistas de Lagos, que ofrecieron la posibilidad de organizar un torneo único como cierre de esta segunda edición del Circuito Nacional NH Resorts. More than 1,200 fans from all over Spain had the opportunity to participate in the second edition of the NH Resorts Golf Circuit, held for nine months in prestigious clubs like Montanya, La Herrería, El Bosque, Basozabal or Pineda. En la segunda categoría se impuso Domingo Martín Sánchez, seguido de Eva Mozas Ramírez y de Tomás Lahoz. En la entrega de premios, celebrada en el transcurso de una exclusiva cena de gala, se entregaron además premios especiales a la bandera más cercana en el hoyo 2 de Alcornoques a Pedro Díaz, en el hoyo 7 de Lagos a Rafael Acevedo, y en el 7 de Pinos a Antonio Peruga. En cuanto a los drive más largos, el del hoyo 6 de Pinos fue para Saad Azzam, mientras que Ricardo Sole hizo doblete con el del hoyo 9 de Alcornoques y el 9 de Lagos.
