ACCESS As far as we can, we only use centres where there are no access difficulties. However, in some areas appropriate facilities are not always available. If stairs etc. cause you problems, please contact us in advance so that we can advise you as to which centres are most suitable for your needs.
ACCREDITATION All our courses are accredited through Agored Cymru and students will earn Level One credits as a record of their progress on the Wlpan course. If you would like to be assessed more formally, you can register for the Welsh Joint Education Committee’s Entry and Foundation examinations during the Wlpan. We must stress, however, that all examinations are entirely optional and voluntary.

Will you please send in your form (or telephone / e-mail) as soon as possible to register for the course of your choice? Please do not send any money with the form. Please this box should you not wish to receive this information
WLPAN Courses 1.
The WLPAN classes listed in this programme meet for at least three hours a week. Obviously, the more hours you put into learning, the more effectively you will learn.
2.
The Wlpan courses are on Entry level in the National Framework and cater for absolute beginners. We concentrate very much on the spoken language and class work revolves around conversational practice. Conscientious students can expect to be able to hold a basic conversation in Welsh by the end of the course.
3.
You are requested to enrol beforehand by phone/e-mail or by returning the attached form, as places are allocated on a first-come first-served basis. However, you are welcome to attend the first class without obligation to continue with the course: the fees will not be collected until the end of that class, so that you can have a taste of the course structure and teaching methods before making any financial commitment. Learning materials will also be distributed at the first class.
4.
We use our own in-house course materials which concentrate on the spoken forms of North-Walian Welsh. Wlpan course fees include the course book and a listening comprehension CD or cassette. Wlpan revision and practice CDs or cassettes are also available: these will cost an additional £12 (cassettes) or £16 (CDs) if you wish to buy them. The audio material can also be downloaded as MP3 files for £12.
5.
No classes will be held during school holidays, e.g. there will be a half-term break during the week of 11 - 15 February and two weeks off over Easter, 25 March - 5 April. Courses will finish for the summer before the end of June.
6.
Follow-up courses will be offered at the same centres and on the same format from September 2013 to ensure continued progress.
7.
If you already know some Welsh, one of our intermediate or advanced courses may be more suitable for you. Please contact the Welsh for Adults Centre for guidance.
