It doesn’t happen often, but in some rare instances a building is designed and built that universally turns heads. Upon entering or exiting Long Beach Island from Route 72 at the intersection of Central Avenue, Wal ters’ new office building can be seen across from Ron Jon Surf Shop and adjacent to The Gateway LBI.
The magnificent space embraces minimalism, asym metrical shapes and a distinct lack of ornamentation. Clean lines, floor-to-ceiling windows, crisp white walls, wide plank white oak flooring and a free-flow ing space set the tone for the modern aesthetic vibe that Walters envisioned at 701 Central Avenue.
The 5,790 sq. ft. building will expand Walters’ physical footprint in Ocean County and features two separate structures connected by a sky bridge. The building will be home to Walters Architecture, Custom Home and Realty divisions, as well as an undisclosed restaurant.
“This will be an ideal location to serve clients look ing to build a new home in the Long Beach Island region,” said Matthew Gaudet-Walters, Director of Business Development for Walters. “We have stream lined all the different services that Walters offers into a single business model for an enhanced client experience.”
At Walters, traditional materials are used in new ways. Wood, brick, stone and steel are simplified to reflect a modern aesthetic. Smooth planes, modern

The building itself offers multiple entrances, although the main lobby will feature a welcoming reception desk with a robust accent wall featuring the Walters logo. The first floor will be home to Walters custom home sales and real estate brokerage. This is where prospective clients will meet for their initial consultations and cus tom home planning. If you’re in need of land, you will have the opportunity to work with a Walters real estate agent to advise you on finding the appropriate property to build your new home. Private offices with full panel glass doors, flex desks, hospitality areas and a lounge complete the first level.
The Architecture Studio and Design Center are found on the second floor. These spaces are generously sprinkled with free floating tables and shelves, ample storage and
built-in cabinetry. “Presentation/TV walls and counter tops with high stools will leave room for future virtual reality technology,” said Walters. “This will enable our clients to visualize the design process even further.”
Walters Architecture is led by industry veteran Arnold Boyle, AIA. The team will help establish a working knowledge of the property in order to design the perfect home. Homebuyers receive a complimentary first meet ing with preliminary draft and one revision.
The Design Center is led by Interior Designer Janelle Welch who helps homebuyers select all the finishes and colors for your new home. “We personally walk our cli ents through every step of the process to ensure they are getting a home that is unique and exactly the way they envisioned it to be,” Welch added.
The new location will represent a truly one-stop shop ping experience for homebuyers. “Our goal is to make
