Dear Parents, We have successfully completed the first term. It was a pleasure working with you and your child. The support provided by all the Parents in this term was commendable. Here is a brief account of the activities that took place during the First Term.

Celebrating freedom: Students demonstrated their love for the country on August 14 as they gathered in the school ground and sang national songs while waving miniature national flags. The students' patriotism for their motherland was commendable. The celebration ended with a very exciting question and answer session.

Character Parade: The tiny tots of pre-nursery presented a spectacular character parade in October on famous cartoon and fairy tale characters. The children were dressed in colourful costumes and walked smartly on the ramp. Parents were also invited to appreciate and encourage the children. Certificates were distributed at the end of the show to all the participants with their mothers.

Orientation Session: To make the parents aware of the BSS curriculum, an orientation session was held in which the teachers discussed the syllabus and the strategies involved in teaching. This session is held every year and is very helpful as it provides a guideline to the parents in making a good progress of their child.

Nutritional Awareness Program: A healthy and balanced diet plays a vital role in keeping you fit and healthy. An informative workshop was held at Kg-III PECHS especially for mothers to help them create healthy eating habits in children. While mothers were busy listening to the useful tips, a magic show was arranged for the children to keep them occupies and entertained.

Global Dignity Day: Global Dignity Day was celebrated in KGIII P.E.C.H.S branch on 17th October 2012. Teachers spoke to the children about the Global Dignity in the classes and students shared their thoughts about respecting all cultures, religions and races. A role play was performed by the teachers and the students on how essential dignity is for everyone. The junior staff was awarded with certificates as a token of gratitude for their hard work. The function wrapped up with a beautiful song “we are the world, we are the children”. Everyone felt a sense of achievement and celebrated the moment with smiles!

The International Library Day: The International Library Day was celebrated in full swing by class I students. The significance of reading was highlighted and the students discussed through their wonderful speeches that library plays a vital role in our lives but unfortunately people have stopped visiting them. A role play was also performed by the children on the importance of library. Overall it was a great show. Parents were also invited to boost the confidence of the children.

P.T.M: Beaconhouse gave the parents an opportunity to get involved with a Parent-Teacher meeting to discuss the academic performance of their child. The teachers displayed students work to give a better idea of their child’s progress. Overall it was really interactive.

“S” Activity Fun:

It was great fun for the Pre-Nursery students of PECHS KG-III to learn the letter "S" in class. For the identification and formation of the letter, the tiny tots walked on the letter "S" drawn on the ground. Different s-shaped objects were put in a circle and the students jumped around them and learned how to pronounce the sound. Such activities allow children to learn while enjoying themselves, which helps them retain what they have learnt much better.

Parties and Picnics: Class I students did an activity on their Science lesson Parties and Picnics.

All the three sections set up a different theme for the party and the students gathered happily in colourful clothes. All the classes were decorated beautifully and there was ample tempting food. The themes selected for the three sections were village, jungle and fairy land. The children enjoyed their utmost and overall it was an excellent wrap up of the Science unit.

Chef Day: The Pre- Nursery classes arranged a Chef Day in November. The mothers were invited to a Salad and Sandwich brunch to enjoy with their toddlers.

Little students helped their teachers in preparing yummy chicken sandwiches and cream fruit salad. The mothers were over whelmed when their kids served them breakfast with love and care. We also served them tea. It was highly appreciated by all the mothers.

Drama Morning: PECHS KG-III celebrated a 'Drama Morning' by presenting role plays on famous children's stories such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Monkey Puzzle and others. The children were dressed in colourful costumes and delivered their lines brilliantly. Parents were also invited to encourage and appreciate the children. It was a lovely and fun morning for all!

Important Points to remember:

 Effective use of the School I.D Card: Parents or Guardians who come to pick their children MUST produce I.D card at the gate.

Avoid sending a new driver without the school I.D as your child’s safety and security is our top priority.  Regularity and Punctuality: Being punctual shows common courtesy and respect to others. Therefore to maintain the order and discipline of school, you are requested to drop your children ten minutes before the school starts i.e. 7:50 sharp. Please make sure that your child follows the school timings. We request you to help us to train the children that time is the most precious resource available.  Prior Appointment: You must seek prior appointment if you wish to meet the teacher during the school hours to discuss academic or other issues in general. You may also communicate through your child’s lesson diary.  Birthday Parties: Please note that birthday parties are not celebrated in school so kindly do not send any eatables or gifts with your child.
