Beaconhouse School System News Letter Clifton KG III Dear Parents, First Term has ended successfully! It seems it was not long that we welcomed the new students in school. Now these little children have gained much confidence. It was wonderful to see them settling in quickly and comfortably which is obvious from their various performances in school. The term was packed with lots of fantastic activities. Students experienced technology integration, participated in challenging International Competitions, immensely enjoyed the Sports day and focused on reading during their library periods to become confident readers. We believe that the essence of education is in sharing responsibilities between children, parents and teachers. The parent- teacher relationship is the most important contributing factor to a child’s success in school. We look forward to our continual partnership to help
World Library Day: The World Library Day was again celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm this year. It served the purpose to remind our students the importance of reading. They were given the opportunity to play on line games and they performed a skit to reflect the importance of reading. Certificates and gifts were awarded to encourage and appreciate our young readers. It is our utmost effort to make our students fluent readers and improve their level of reading. Celebrating World Library Day is a great way to develop and inculcate reading habits in our children.

Fun Filled Recycling Activities: It is very important to make our children realize that even a small group of thoughtful committed people can change the world. Keeping the thought in mind students were encouraged to work with recycled material to realize that nothing should be wasted. The students created a fun robot, CD mobiles, beautiful flower pots with glass jars/ bottles, made cards etc. The project of Land and Buildings was also made with the recycled material. It provided the knowledge and insight to our students on how to work with recycled material and also integrated the Social Studies topic that was hands on learning.
Reading is Fun: The parents of Pre Nursery and Nursery are given the opportunity to issue books for their little ones from school library every week to enhance their reading skills. Whereas, students of KG to class II borrow books themselves, confidently. They write book reviews and get involved in discussions during the story time sessions, this helps them to explore and facilitate their reading skills.
Sports Day Champions: Like Olympics and World Cup this year, the students performed enthusiastically on the Annual Sports Day. The little champions took part in various challenging activities like Taekwondo, ‘Chicky dance’ and P.T display. Such activities help to create a positive attitude towards personel fitness. The winners went home with happy smiles on their faces!
Live To Cheer! On the Annual Sports Day, girls of class II rocked the occasion, with beautiful pink dresses and lovely smiles on their faces, they Wowed! each and everyone in the crowd. They danced on the ever popular number of “Las Ketchup” which helped the young champions to collect motivation and enthusiasms within them. They were wonderful as they cheered while dancing and stunned the audience to give them huge round of applause. Cheers to our cheer leaders ! Page 2

Technology Integration in School Beaconhouse Clifton KG III is not left behind in teaching at digital age. We are using games to enhance IT skills in our young students through online learning. We are bringing internet in education and web based learning through different sites and the games, which are a better source of educational benefit to the young students. Mathletics and Kangaroo competitions being held in the school for students of classes I and II help them to approach towards a better learning edge. IT sessions with the students of KG introduced them to
the IT world. Hence, BSS has become the center of learning and innovation! Mrs. Sana, mother of Mekyl, student of I-A volunteered to have a session of “Growing up” on the school projector with Class Is.
You made us proud ! Abdul Haseeb of class I A was awarded with ‘Emerald Certificate’ for successfully participating and securing a good position in Mathelitics Competition held on 30th and 31st October 2012. My heartiest congratulations to the proud parents and the teacher Mrs. Amber Ansari.

Colours are life: Students of Pre Nursery and Nursery celebrated Yellow Day and Red Day on their respective days in the school premises. The students looked stunning as all of them were dressed in bright yellow and red col-
oured dresses. They also bought different yellow and red coloured toys. The main aim of the celebration was to familiarize the students with yellow and red colours. The School environment and their classes were vibrantly decorated with the theme colours. They also enjoyed red and yellow jellies. Children went home happily with their goody bags, and recited a few poems signifying the colours.

Global Dignity Day For incorporating a sense of dignity and respect in our students Global Dignity Day was celebrated in our school in November. We organized an event in an effort to instill and inspire sense of respect in our Young Global Leaders. The students presented a skit, interviewed and presented gifts to the junior staff and acknowledged them for their continuous efforts for the school.
Fun Filled Fridays On every last Friday of the month, we reward our students with some fun. They play games like Pictionary, cross word puzzles, scrabble etc. It is such an amazing experience for the students to learn in a fun environment. Students play simple games and activities that reinforce their skills as well as it offers a nice break from structured learning. The fun Fridays are really a source of learning through entertainment for them in an educational environment. The teachers and the school coordinator provided continuous support in organizing a range of learning experiences for students to flourish and groom. They created opportunities for them to achieve competence in a caring and secure environment for actively learning individuals.
