Beaconhouse School System Primary Branch-I, North Nazimabad Chapter Karachi.

Dear Parents,

October, 2010

Assalam-o-Alaikum

As the new School Head, I pledge to put my utmost efforts to maintain the standards of Beaconhouse School System to provide quality education and meet your expectations. This year once again we will consolidate our efforts, harness our students’ enthusiasm and appreciate your support towards providing quality education to your children. The home school connection: As a part of BSS family, the great responsibility of upholding high standards of quality education lies not only with school but also with you and your child. Please stay in touch with the school to remain appraised of your child’s progress. Daily diary is the regular mean of communication between parent body and school. Please check your child’s diary daily so that you do not miss out on any important note or circular sent by the school and also become aware of the home assignments sent. Meeting with the teachers: You may see the teacher to discuss your child’s performance or any other issues concerning him/ her by taking a prior appointment through your child’s lesson diary or over the telephone in case of emergency. Kindly avoid approaching teachers in the morning or after school. Following the visiting hours (i.e. from 8:30 a.m. - 10: 30 a.m.) for pre-scheduled meetings will be highly appreciated. Kindly abstain from forcing the gatekeeper to enter the school premises other than the visiting hours. However any exigency or unforeseen situation will be dealt exceptionally and responsively. The school contact numbers are 021-36643450 and 021-36721801. Maintaining your child’s pamphlets at home: As we are aware that this year Beaconhouse School System has replaced regular exercise books with comparatively thin pamphlets, to reduce the weight of school bag. Before assessments and fortnightly your child’s pamphlets and work books are sent home, please sign them for

acknowledgement and return. Once a pamphlet is completely filled then it will be sent home to be kept safely. Kindly keep the sent pamphlets carefully in a folder as those will remain at home only and shall not be sent back to the school.

Safety and Security: Availability of ID card of your child/ children is the basic requirement for safety and security of your child. Please make sure the person who is responsible for collecting your child carries his/ her ID card daily. In case of non-availability of ID card, please have one made at your earliest by giving us 1x1 photograph of your child. To ensure an orderly flow of traffic, kindly refrain from wrong parking and avoid turning your vehicles in the middle of the street. Keeping your vehicles in one lane will enable a smooth flow of traffic. Please follow the traffic rules and cooperate with the school staff at the gate and outside the school. Punctuality and regularity are essential for maintaining school discipline. Kindly adhere to the school timings. Late arrivals will not be allowed to enter the school premises without a valid reason. As per assessment policy of BSS, students are not only assessed on formal tests but on class work, oral work as well as the project work. Therefore please refrain from holding your child back at home unnecessarily. However avoid sending sick children to school just for the sake of assessment as it is detrimental to the health of the child and anything infectious might affect other children. Activities: Due to unrest in city, the security measures have been raised to ensure safety of your child. Some pre-scheduled activities have been either postponed or cancelled. I hope to have your usual cooperation in all times.
