Message from the

SCHOOL HEAD Dear Parents and Students , Sometimes it is hard to believe that we have made it through 2020 and here we are closing the session 2021. We have had our triumphs and our challenges, but in spite of it all, we continued to work hard to reflect the attributes of true Beaconites. The last year was mostly online and less face to face and yet we all made it possible to keep advancing towards the common goal of achieving our academic targets. I am thankful to everyone who has worked so hard to encourage and support the learning in and out of the classroom. I thank our dedicated faculty who has made a huge difference in our students’ lives by providing wholesome, engaging and well-rounded experiences for our students. Their commitment has been outstanding thus, benefiting our pupils at large. The COVID-19 pandemic has put tremendous pressure on all of us to adapt -- especially when it comes to imparting education. While these adapted measures aren’t perfect solutions, yet they are the ties that have held us all together over this last year. I am proud of all my students who were present and ready to engage through any medium. This wasn’t easy at all, as the entire study experience had completely changed. Our students, through their resilience and perseverance, made it through these challenging times and showed up, both online and in person, with a willingness to grow and learn. For the graduating class of 2021, I would like to wish them best of fortune and prosperity in their years ahead. I am sure that they will emerge stronger and more determined. Have a relaxing Summer break ! Sincerely Samana Imam School Head

"The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you" –B. B. King The past year and a half has been a challenging time for the educational sector. With the pandemic and closure of schools, learning has taken a new turn, emphasizing the need to adapt to change and improve our traditional teaching styles.

Section Head's Note

We are lucky to have a dedicated team of teachers who, by their unrelenting efforts, encouraged students to become more confident showing exceptional progress with tremendous adaptability. We ensured our students are challenged and inspired, both inside and outside the classroom. Besides offering a vigorous academic programme through BSU and Hybrid learning models, we were able to offer an extensive range of extracurricular activities, so that each of our students has opportunities to participate, grow and excel. I am also thankful to the parents and guardians for ensuring that their children receive quality education by sending them to school despite difficult times. Here's wishing for a better future for our children! Shamaila Rizwan

Kashaf Khadija X Spring Genetic modification has undoubtedly been the biggest biological breakthrough of this past decade. In a world where millions are suffering from malnutrition and incurable diseases, CRISPR might be our greatest hope. Studying and editing genes is now quicker, easier and cheaper than ever. It can allow us to wipe out entire populations of malaria-spreading mosquitoes, a problem still faced by Pakistan today. Not only that, but it can be used to develop better crop-growing techniques, cure inherited blood disorders. CRISPR has propelled humanity several years into the future, and could change the entire course of evolution as we know it. Our student Kashaf Khadija secured second position by presenting her vision in Ideas Xtreme Science Project hosted by CSBC Virtual Olympiad.

STUDENTS PROJECTS Viral Video

Students of Grade VIII, Dawood Kamran, Hashim Abbas, Faizan Ahmed, Ayan Ahmed and Talha Zubair created their Penpal Schools project titled “Articulating Countenance” as an expressive viral video that Teaching Digital highlighted their feelings and Citizenship thoughts about the year Student of Grade VIII, Mahnoor 2020. Nadeem created her Penpal Schools project on "Teaching Digital Citizenship" where she heeds the community to learn about the importance and impact of Digitalization.

Social Media Campaig

Students of Grade VIII Sana Faisal, Khadija Ali and Zulekha Zahid created a Social Media Marketing Campaign as their PenPals Schools Project about a local apparel brand “Jerdoni” where they used various marketing strategies and tools to promote the business.

Sana Faisal Teamwork is the best work. Pen Pal is a community that discovered a whole new person out of me. It gave me a hint of the world ahead.. We taxied through the lessons where we watched videos and read through the passages that had plenty of information. Then we answered the questions by expressing individual ideas. It was such a fascination to read and review different answers with versatile perspectives around the globe! Right after I was done with all the lessons, We completed the first phase of learning in just a few days. Then we proceeded towards the next phase of the project under the supervision of Miss Rabia. In this phase , we promoted Jerdoni as a project of the Digital Marketing Campaign. It is a Pakistani brand that markets its products to 10 different countries. 'Jerdoni' is managed by perfectionists, people who not only produce quality garments but also genuinely care about the aesthetics of our community. In order to carry out our project, we designed posters on different websites. Furthermore, we created a blog, signifying the brand details and uploaded it on google. Likewise, we made an advertisement too. Promoting a brand, while keeping it professional, interesting, and considering the policies of being a digital citizen wouldn't have been possible without the initiative of Pen Pal, the guidance of our teacher, and teamwork.

Dawood Kamran I had a magnificent experience. Collaborating with so many students across the globe was a truly unique experience and it enhanced our skills to the next level. Before joining this platform, I didn't even imagine how great of a place it is. All the other participants were also very enthusiastic and their perspectives just made a picture of an entirely different world in my mind and I am astonished by how similar our thoughts are even though we live in different places with different cultures. Each opinion which is different, represents an entirely unique perspective. I can't wait to see what all of us do in the future.

Students' Presentations

Despite all the best media available online, the art of communication is yet a challenge for most of us. In this regard, when one masters the art of oration and eloquence, the best medium to usually exhibit their expertise is through the art of presentation. Speaking of which, our students have never let go of any chance to demonstrate the skills and methodologies that they inherited and learnt from their veteran teachers and mentors. 17
