As this year draws to a close, I thank all the stakeholders for their continued support in successfully coming out of the Covid-related scenarios and for extending support at all fronts. Session 2021-22 saw normality coming back with regular face-to-face schooling which resulted in greater efforts by teachers and pupils. I acknowledge the hard work of our faculty and the entire school team for engaging the students effectively and lifting their spirits. Our O Level GPA went up to 4.39 and our Matriculation GPA landed on an impressive 4.48 mark up. A phenomenal achievement for us was receiving three distinctions (two in O level and one in A level) and two board toppers in Matriculation. Students making us proud are; Mehreen Kamran (Biology), Kashaf Khadija (Global Perspectives)in O Level and Laiba Chaudhry for ‘Best across Five’ at AS level. Fateh Alam Bhatti and Abdul Samad Shami made us proud with their outstanding achievements of 1100/1100 in BISE Lahore. Dareecha 5.0, sports competitions, co-curricular activities in and out of school and exciting school trips played a significant part in bringing the vibrant school life back which aimed at reviving and developing the social skills; cooperation, teamwork and collaboration that was put to a halt during the pandemic. These activities also brought back the simple joy of spending time with friends. You may have also noticed the shift to e-report cards and continued communication through Google classrooms. This is a small step towards creating a paperless environment and also ensures quick access at all times. Beaconhouse parental app is also there to keep you well-informed about the latest school communication and about pupils’ academic progress. My sincerest gratitude to the parent body for reaching out to us for their constructive feedback. We shall continue to improve our practices with reflection and continued professional development. I am genuinely optimistic that the next year will be even more rewarding and fulfilling on our personal and professional fronts. I truly believe that we can’t always be the best but we can do the best! Let’s just work around this notion. Wishing you all a relaxing summer break-enjoy quality time with each other and build stronger bonds. Best Regards Samana Imam

The School Head’s Message

Section Head's Note Shamaila Rizwan Another year has passed us by in a flash with so much happening in such a short period of time. With the pandemic behind us, we must appreciate the resilience of our students and teachers to tide over, perhaps, the most difficult time, we might have faced in our lives. With the school routine gaining a normal momentum, our students were engaged in a number of curricular and co-curricular activities throughout the year. We are extremely proud of our students Fateh Alam Bhatti and Abdul Samad Shami for achieving brilliant results in the Board Examination and securing 1100/1100 which is a record in itself! Our O-level students made history in achieving the first-ever Distinctions of Bahria Town Campus, Mehreen Kamran (Top in Pakistan: Biology) and Kashaf Khadija (Top in Pakistan: Global Perspectives). The Faculty and administration are overwhelmed by the excellence of our students. We congratulate the parents and the students on their remarkable achievement! I look forward to welcoming all the students back after a well-deserved rest over the summer break. We are already planning a better and more rigorous academic routine for the students in the coming session, in addition to extracurricular events and activities to foster the holistic development of our students. Best wishes for a good year ahead!

Bake Sale Fundraiser One of the main life lessons our students need to learn is that of charity. Our students and their benevolent nature have been one of the reasons Senior School has been able to organize fundraiser Bake Sales in the past. This year the Bake Sale was a huge success with stalls that had sweet and savoury items appealing to everyone. The presentation, taste, hygiene and revenue generation earned points for teams.

Proceeds of this fundraiser were donated to Pink Ribbon, an NGO fighting against Breast Cancer.

Professional Development

Teaching is not a static profession and 'Education' is a never-ending process. We, at Beaconhouse Bahria Town Senior Campus, believe that all teachers must be lifelong learners and be open to new research and instructional practices. Professional Development provides an opportunity to expand the knowledge base which not only ensures the best learning outcomes for the students but also evolves teachers to be more productive, efficient, and effective. It is also a great opportunity to reflect and highlight gaps in the knowledge and experience and become more confident in making new contributions to the school.

During this academic session, teachers engaged in a number of professional development courses including BTTP, Mentoring in Action, Developing Reflective Practitioner and CAIE Extension Trainings for Chemistry, Pakistan Studies, Global Perspectives and English. In addition to this, Senior Mistress, Ms Maryam Makhdoom attended a Certificate Course of Teaching with Digital Technologies from LUMS, Ms Naiylah Maqsood attended CAIE Certificate of Teaching and Learning and Ms Khadija Khan participated in Leading Recovery: Curriculum, Community and Wellbeing in the British Council's annual conference Schools Now! 2022. Student Achievements Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence. Teams from Beaconhouse Bahria Town Senior campus participated in various Inter-House Competitions during the year 2021-22 and displayed a great power show off their expertise in all areas. The competitions were a fusion of talent, imagination and creativity. The students of the Senior School brought laurels to the school in all categories. Winners were awarded certificates and shields.
