JUNE 2021

From the Head’s Desk "The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into the window." Sydney J Harris

Dear Parents, All praises to Allah I congratulate you all on the successful completion of this eventful but challenging year. This year Beaconhouse HSCR, you as parents and our valuable students displayed exemplary co-operation and did not leave any stone unturned to continue the learning process of our children. I extend my heartiest gratitude to the valued parent body to make BSU a successful mode of teaching and learning. It was, indeed, a great support from our parents that we could make online teaching possible during this uncertain situation of Covid 19.

IKLC, GREEN LIVING, HIPPO, and many more have made us realise that they are ready for 21st century challenges. Mission of Beaconhouse is to make our children prepare for the challenges of New Era. We believe in continuous improvement and keep on improving our ways and tools of teaching. Thank you so much for your continuous support. Good luck my dear students for your new session. I wish you all to stay safe and healthy!

Back to School School is the foremost fountain of knowledge children are exposed to. It provides a chance for them to acquire knowledge and contributes to cultivation in the thought process. After weeks of school closure our tots of Lower Primary joined back on 11th January 2021.They were super excited to meet their teachers and friends. The readiness and enthusiasm of the parents, children, and administration to adapt to the new set of inschool rules made the safe management of the learning process possible.

Keeping Safe “Safety first is safety always.” Charles M Hayes Students of Grade One Rose presented a colourful morning assembly on the topic “Keeping Safe”. IKLC Preparation, Competition and IKLC Prize Distribution Competitions play a vital role in motivating students to perform and offer a lot more reward than just the winning prize. One of the most important phases for holding a contest is its preparation. HSCR, every year shines in International Kangaroo Contests with a chance for beaconites to gain substantial experience and showcase skills. Carrying the same tradition, preparatory sessions for IKLC 2021, were held in the campus from Grade 1 till Grade 10. Students warmly participated in online practice sessions and completed the paper within the allocated time. Teachers supervised and motivated the students throughout the online practice.

IKMC Prize Distribution A dream does not become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work. .. HSCR aims to promote a culture of critical and clear thinking as well as good communication skills among the students. The International Kangaroo Mathematics Contest (IKMC) is held every year in the Harley Street campus, providing

international recognition to its children at a very early stage of their life. Carrying the tradition forward, our young achievers outshined this year as well in the 30th IKMC, 2021. A prestigious prize distribution ceremony was held in the campus to acknowledge the achievement and success of our beaconites. Students were awarded prizes for their hard work. Hence proving at the international level second to none.

Lower primary Covid Marshals, Class and Language monitors

“The quality of a leader is reflected in the standards they set for themselves” -Roy Kroc The position of the class representatives is an important part of students' personal growth. It plays a dominant role in a child's education and can have magnanimous influence over their attitudes about school and learning. They set behavioral standards for other students to consider him or her as a role model. Keeping this in view students from early and lower primary were nominated as Covid Marshals, Class and language monitors. They were nominated

with respect to the given criteria and were entrusted with a number of responsibilities to maintain discipline , standard and ensure proper compliance of COVID-19 SOP’s.

Professional Development Session

“In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn.” Phil Collins A fully functional education system is one that equips its students to become contributing members of society but the values, character, capacity, and complexity of the instructors in the education system determines whether such goals can be achieved or not! Teacher training therefore is a key factor in educational excellence. Maintaining its high standards on professional development of its staff, BSS HSCR arranged such a session for its subject coordinators, subject leads and level coordinators. The SM and PDSI Lead, Ms Zainab Hussain, in her enlightening and interactive presentation provided the participants an insight into using BSS’s new professional development platform PRISM. recitation and took part in acknowledging the efforts of our eminent leaders.

Motivation and success are what drive individuals everywhere! The recognition of students fosters strong relationships among students, families, faculty, and the community and creates a positive school culture where students feel valued. HSCR believes the same and strives for this strong positive culture.

We realize it is critically important that we celebrate and recognize the outstanding things that students accomplish, both inside and outside of the classroom. To acknowledge our young learners, students of our primary level were awarded BSU regular attendance certificates to appreciate their meaningful and persistent effort throughout the BSU. We wish much more success to our proud beaconites!

Virtual Sports Competition Physical inactivity among children is a great concern these days. It threatens our future and that of the next generation as it is known to have an increasingly negative impact on rates of obesity, noncommunicable disease and overall health. It is inarguably accepted that a bit of healthy competition in any field is known to enhance motivation and generate increased effort from those competing.
